KABUL, Afghanistan (March 7, 2008) – ISAF’s Qala-e-Naw Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) soldiers inaugurated a road stretch and bridge in Ab Kamari District, Badghis Province, Feb. 26, 2008. Twenty kilometres of gravel road and the bridge will help 40,000 locals more easily access Qala-e-Naw.
The engineering works were financed by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation, acting within the framework of the Spanish-led ISAF PRT. This project, financed in part by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation, highlights ISAF’s commitment to improving the living conditions of the population in Badghis Province. The PRT’s main task is to support the authorities of the Government of Afghanistan to reach a stable and secure environment that strengthens the governance and makes the reconstruction and development easier.
