Let Us Pray

It is a time of hurricanes, fires, diabetes, cancers, and many more things requiring prayers to our Wonderful God Almighty who is able and true. He has answered all of my prayers. Not that I've liked all the answers, but He is faithful to answer.

Dear Father God,

I thank You for Your great sacrifice of Jesus Christ Your Son. Thank You.

Please help the people on the shores of the Carolinas and inland. There is much flooding, and they need Your help. There is no government that can do what You can do!

Thank You for being there for Lance during his operation Thursday morning as well as his bride, Janet. Please guide them and comfort them. Ease their pains and anxieties. Be their great Comforter.

I pray Lord that all the oxygen would go out of all the fires here in California. Please put them out.

God, I also pray for our government along with the politicians involved. Please convict their hearts to do the right things for this wonderful country you have blessed us with. Bless them also, and protect them please.

Last and most definitely not least, I want to pray for Pastor Dave Delaney of First Baptist Church of Long Beach; and Pastor Kirk Beard and former Pastor Rick Patterson of Crossroads Baptist Church of Hemet California. I have been very blessed with these wonderful men as pastors in my life.

Lord, I pray You would lift them up above their enemies, and put a hedge of protection around them. They bear much, ask for little, and give so much. Please grant them Your peace which this world does not understand.

I love You, God. Thank You for prayers already answered. You are an awesome God!

In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Crossroads Baptist Church 8/12/2018

Today Pastor Kirk gave a service on God's word being our focus, our goal post. Of course, but do you go to church just to hear the word and then live your life as if you are a part of this world? Or are you moved into action? We, as Christians, are called to be Christ-like. No, we are not perfect. That is why Christ paid our sin debt in full.

After you surrender your life to Christ, you become a new creation! We are now different than those of this world. So when we live our lives, we should stand out among others. What do I mean?

Exactly this: We are called to be different. Not self-righteous, but God-righteous. And in this manner, he emphasized 5 main points that we, as adults, are responsible for when it comes to our children's education.

1. Encourage testimonies. Parents and children are not required to leave who they are at the door. No one else does, and neither did Daniel. Daniel 1:3-8. This is a good way to let people know who you are and what you are about.

Yes, it gets tough, but it is worth it.

2. Parents, lead by example. There was a father whose son was very important to a particular team, but the final game was on a Sunday. He was conflicted. Should he let his son play and teach him that baseball was more important than God?

An easier way to go about this conflict is to let the coach know at the beginning of the year that Sunday's and Wednesday's are priorities elsewhere. That way, it is no surprise to the coach or the team.

3. Students should get 100% benefit every year. If you study and work hard, put your whole effort towards your education, there is no reason you cannot achieve your best. If your best is a B or a C, then you have done your best! But if your best is an A and you get a C, you are cheating yourself and God. God gave you the talent and ability. Make sure to use them.

4. Set goals for your children. Many times children go away to  revivals, Vacation Bible School, etc., and within a month or two they are back to the way they were before they left. We call that backsliding. If you set goals for them, encourage them, be a part of their lives by getting materials that you can use together; it can be a great influence on your child's life.

5. Your children's friends DO matter. Good people do good things. Bad people do bad things. Life is hard enough for our children. If they start out by telling you that their friend did this and that, but they are good person, stop it right there. It may be true. Are you willing to risk your child? I am not.

We have to be diligent. Look on their Facebook accounts! Both your child's and their friends. You will learn more than you ever wanted to know. They post everything!

I have to check on the pot roast right now, so I hope these words of encouragement helped you in some way. :)

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Mahoney buys silence for $660 million

Cross-posted at Rosemary's Thoughts.

Before I start this post, please allow me to set the record straight. I am not Catholic. I am a First Southern Baptist Christian. I hold no ill feelings toward those people who choose to be Catholics. I am grounded enough in my faith not to allow anything that anyone says about their religion or mine to bother me, but I will tell what does bother me.

When someone claims the title as a Christian, then publicly acts anyway they choose except as a Christian. I know I have failed in this category, so I understand how easy it is fall off the path and start walking as if we are of this world and not just in it. For this, I repent of my sins of cussing and not reading my Bible as I should.

I have looked in the mirror at myself, and I have taken the log out of my eye. Now let's turn to the speck in Cardinal Mahoney's. To stay in your position as Cardinal of any Church is an even more egregious sin. For these men to continue their grotesque sin and crime, they needed your enablement. They needed your cloak to cover them, and that is exactly what you gave them. Shame on you!

Let's look at this situation as the unbeliever would. There are many religions out there, and every person is going seek the meaning of life at least one point in their life. They ultimately turn to God. You and I know that there is only One True God. We are His representatives, like it or not. What they see on the outside is how God will be judged. What do you think someone looking at you will think?

EDITORIAL NOTE: If you do not agree with me about MY religion, don't bother writing a disagreeable comment. I know there are many who do not believe this. THIS IS WHAT I BELIEVE, and I have that right as much as you do.

To continue. Anyone who has the authority over His flock and leads astray one of His very own would be better off to tie a mulberry bush around his neck and throw himself into the ocean! These are not my words. It is not I who says this, but the LORD. Does that matter to you?

These people who search for God will now have trouble with a Christian God, because this is a big deal. I can tell you that the people who harmed me will never be able to pay me more than I've already paid personally for their crimes. Do not find your hands washed of these crimes against children and humanity. They are not. They cannot be.

How many people are going to Christ now? How many are turning away? What you have done is outrageous and sinful. You are just as guilty as those men, and you should not remain a Cardinal. Not in a Church anyway. You have broken the Holy laws of God and the trust of mankind. The only way to regain the Hope in Christ is for you to leave your post. If you are truly sorry, if you truly love Christ, if you truly desire His flock to be saved, you shall retire your position in the Church. Then again, that's only if you remember we may be in this world, not of it.
