MSN Customer Service

So you say you would like to help people by working at customer service? May I recommend you do not apply for a job at MSN? I have tried since Saturday to ‘fix’ my problem so I could once again get online and place my articles on my sites.

Allow me to walk through their customer service. The first call was pretty good. I learned that I had not paid for the last two months. See, when I lost my card, my card company did carry over MSN. So they asked me for my new information. I started to give it to them, and I realized I could not find my card again.

I am the type of person who puts things away where they belong. If it isn’t there, I cannot find it. It doesn’t matter if it is right next to where I’m looking, I still cannot find it. This may be due the strokes that I’ve had. I created a strategy for me to remember those things that I do not use everyday. I would put them in one place, and they would stay there. When I am through using them, I return them to that one place. Easy, right? HA! lol

Anyway, I called my card company to report it, and they were going to send me another one. In the meantime, I found it. I called my card company to tell them, and they told me I was given the same number! I was astonished. They are supposed to change it in case someone else gets their hands on it. Oh well. I was okay with it...this time.

Then I called MSN again. After going through all the stuff you have to go through, they sent me to a specialist in billing. Why wouldn’t they accept my new card? They changed their policy so that both the name on the credit card and the name you put on your profile have to be the same. WHAT THE HAY? NO WAY! They have no right to my personal information, and these people want to get all huffy when the Patriot Act was implemented? Yeah, right.

I swear, they want to know too much information for my comfort zone. I wanted to change ISP’s right then and there. There was only one problem. I don’t use MSN. I have been paying for it since January 2002 as a back up ISP, just in case my IE ran into a problem. Well, my ISP ran into a problem, and MSN was in no way, shape or form going to help. They even had the nerve to tell me I owed them money! I told them to show me where ANY activity was used on my account. They could not, because I did not use it.

It took me 8 phone calls to MSN and I let them know I am a journalist. I also let them know I may lose my job. Did they care? NO. I promised to write an article about this experience, and here it is.

Well, to put this all into a nutshell, they told me all I had to do was go online and change my profile. Um...THAT’S WHY I’M CALLING! I have no internet! I could not sign-in to MSN and IE was out. They are tomorrow. Finally. As soon as I get on the computer, I’m canceling my subscription. I recommend you do the same.

PS. I'm back online now, as if you couldn't tell, and I paid what I owed. Did I keep the MSN? Yeah, until I can find something that will allow me to carry over my same e-mail addresses! Argghhh!
