Founders' Daily Quote: 19 Sept 08

"The ordaining of laws in favor of one part of the nation, to the prejudice and oppression of another, is certainly the most erroneous and mistaken policy. An equal dispensation of protection, rights, privileges, and advantages, is what every part is entitled to, and ought to enjoy."

--Benjamin Franklin (Emblematical Representations, Circa 1774); Reference: The Works of Benjamin Franklin, Sparks, ed. (457)

This would be a wonderful country to live in if the government you left for us did not have so many holes in it. The corruption of the servants has become so severe that we cannot even talk to them let alone convince them to change their minds. They do not keep the oaths they take to serve as representatives for us.

Do you remember the Boston Tea Party? Well, they are taxing us way more than that 1%! It is almost 50% for those that produce goods, and the people who do not want to work or make as much money demand that they get to grab some of that money. I am no longer recognizing my beloved country. But thanks for trying...

Founders' Daily Quote: 12 Sept 08

"Our new Constitution is now established, and has an appearance that promises permanency; but in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes."

--Benjamin Franklin (letter to Jean-Baptiste Leroy, 13 November 1789); Reference: The Works of Benjamin Franklin, Begelow, ed., vol. 12 (161)

If somehow we could eliminate taxes, then there would only be one thing left with certainty...death. But wait! If when we die, are we truly dead? Are you certain what is going to happen to you after you die? If you are a Christian, you are certain. If you are not, please read your Bible more and stop listening to the world so much. If you are not a Christian, may I inquire as to why not?

Do you think being a Christian reduces your fun and free spirit? I beg to differ! It is by being Christian that we truly are set free, and boy! Do we have more fun than you will ever understand. Is it because you feel you have done something so terrible that you can never be forgiven? My dear child, of the people being cruxified aside Christ was a murderer. He was accepted into Heaven. Why? Because he accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour. He understood. There is nothing so wrong, nothing so secret, nothing so hateful, nothing so terrible that can tear away God's love for us. Come join the Living. Please.

I will probably not writing another post today, because I shall be working (yes again) on moving my other sites posts over to here and Rosemary's News and Ideas. I only have 7331 posts to go! (Arghh!)

ZzzzZzzzZzzz

A sweet lady by the name of Angel wrote a nice article the other day called, "ResT & RelaxatioN..Ahhh". I laughed in its face (the post), put it aside, out of my mind...or did I? I usually get around two to three hours of sleep at a time, and that's only when my body says, 'No more!' I have fallen asleep in some very strange places, and that isn't too safe.

Ah yes, back to the point. I'm about to pass out again. I can usually tell when it is about to happen. My problem is that I fight it. Why? So much to do! But not this time.

Thanks, Angel. I'm going to stop laughing and take your advice. Your post was very timely! ;)

PS. This could also apply to all the gushing happening in Denver, CO. If you do not know why, just google "media OR democrat national convention". Blah!

MSN Customer Service

So you say you would like to help people by working at customer service? May I recommend you do not apply for a job at MSN? I have tried since Saturday to ‘fix’ my problem so I could once again get online and place my articles on my sites.

Allow me to walk through their customer service. The first call was pretty good. I learned that I had not paid for the last two months. See, when I lost my card, my card company did carry over MSN. So they asked me for my new information. I started to give it to them, and I realized I could not find my card again.

I am the type of person who puts things away where they belong. If it isn’t there, I cannot find it. It doesn’t matter if it is right next to where I’m looking, I still cannot find it. This may be due the strokes that I’ve had. I created a strategy for me to remember those things that I do not use everyday. I would put them in one place, and they would stay there. When I am through using them, I return them to that one place. Easy, right? HA! lol

Anyway, I called my card company to report it, and they were going to send me another one. In the meantime, I found it. I called my card company to tell them, and they told me I was given the same number! I was astonished. They are supposed to change it in case someone else gets their hands on it. Oh well. I was okay with it...this time.

Then I called MSN again. After going through all the stuff you have to go through, they sent me to a specialist in billing. Why wouldn’t they accept my new card? They changed their policy so that both the name on the credit card and the name you put on your profile have to be the same. WHAT THE HAY? NO WAY! They have no right to my personal information, and these people want to get all huffy when the Patriot Act was implemented? Yeah, right.

I swear, they want to know too much information for my comfort zone. I wanted to change ISP’s right then and there. There was only one problem. I don’t use MSN. I have been paying for it since January 2002 as a back up ISP, just in case my IE ran into a problem. Well, my ISP ran into a problem, and MSN was in no way, shape or form going to help. They even had the nerve to tell me I owed them money! I told them to show me where ANY activity was used on my account. They could not, because I did not use it.

It took me 8 phone calls to MSN and I let them know I am a journalist. I also let them know I may lose my job. Did they care? NO. I promised to write an article about this experience, and here it is.

Well, to put this all into a nutshell, they told me all I had to do was go online and change my profile. Um...THAT’S WHY I’M CALLING! I have no internet! I could not sign-in to MSN and IE was out. They are tomorrow. Finally. As soon as I get on the computer, I’m canceling my subscription. I recommend you do the same.

PS. I'm back online now, as if you couldn't tell, and I paid what I owed. Did I keep the MSN? Yeah, until I can find something that will allow me to carry over my same e-mail addresses! Argghhh!

Founders' Daily Quote: 6 Aug 08

"Were we directed from Washington when to sow, and when to reap, we should soon want bread."

--Thomas Jefferson (Autobiography, 1821); Reference: Jefferson: Writings, Peterson ed., Library of America (74)

I'm afraid it is much worse than that. Take that loaf of bread. These are all government sanctioned items:

1. Tractor: Taxed and regulated.
2. Sod: Taxed and regulated.
3. Fertilizer: Taxed and regulated.
4. Pesticides: Taxed, regulated and banned.
5. Wheat: Forced to grow only as much as the government will allow, regulated.
6. Labor: Social Security tax, unemployment tax, disability tax, medicare tax, employment withheld taxes, etc taxes.
7. Reap: Taxed when you go to market to sell it and regulated.
8. Misc: Taxed and regulated.

So tell me. If this is what you have to go through just to get the wheat (flour), what do have to go through to get the sugar, yeast, water, salt, and if you dare to make your bread anything other than plain, fruit, oat, rye, pumpernickel, nuts, etc; add all the taxes to each product and THAT is why bread costs what it does. And you say you do not want a sales tax where you only buy what you want and the taxes you pay would be on the final product without all those hidden taxes? YOU'RE NUTS!

Anyway, it's really bad these days, Tom. They spend like alcoholics and never sober up. Then they blame us because they can't balance a budget. I have an idea. GIVE ME A CHANCE. I'd have that budget balanced in one year. No problem. I have a degree in Accounting, and I know it is possible. Just throw the bums out!

Laz-e-daz 'n laz-e-nites

Yes, I plead guilty to being lazy. So what? I have actually been working on my WP site, and I'm thinking of maybe switching over to there. I don't know, what do you think? It has its pro's, but it also has its cons. One of the cons is that I'm not that familiar with the codes. This blogger, though, I don't know. I like it, but then I don't. It just takes me too daggone long to do the linkfests. That's what it boils down to, and I'm not about to give them up! ;)

So, as if you couldn't tell, I'm leaving this open to everyone to link their post on their site and then trackback to me here. If you don't have trackback, just leave me a comment with the Title, a short piece of your post, and the post's URL Permalink. Also, please let me know it's your trackback, just in case I suddenly get stupid. I doubt that would ever happen, but we never know...lol. Have a great day.

My day's lesson

I woke up, read a little, fell asleep on the computer, woke up, read a little more, fell asleep again, woke up, went to my bed for a nap, woke up, read some more, listen to BlogTalkRadio.com (Rational Black Man and A Newt One), read my email, threw out some of it, answered some of it, and basically did what I do everyday. This is a day in the life of Rosemary! ;)

I usually have 100's of thoughts for posts during the day, and I can barely recall them when it comes to writing. If you are writer like me then you will understand this. Ever since I was a little girl, if I did not write it down when I though of it, it was gone forever.

There are so many beautiful songs that will never be sung, so many books that will never be written, so many invention that will never come to pass. At least not by me. All because I did not write it down.

The lesson? Always carry a pad of paper and pen! That is, if you are a writer. ;)

Have a nice weekend.

Where has the time gone? I started this morning to move my old posts to my site, and it's almost 6pm! I'm just working on one site, at that. I would like to have something good for my readers to check. Would you please help me while I continue this maddening, lengthy, time-consuming, finger hurting, isn't-there-a-better-way project? Thank you so much. ;)

Dear Readers,

I apologize for not having written anything yet. Besides my moving problems, I really don't have much to say about this election. Well, I was raised that if I have nothing nice to say, it's better to say nothing at all. We all know I can go on a quite skilled tyrade! I'm not even inspired enough to do that. Why not? Because I want them both to just GO AWAY!

Neither one of them have the first idea what our Constitution declares which came directly from our Declaration of Independence! I think there are many people who truly love this country, and we do not like the way this country is headed...to a very dangerous place. Extinction? Maybe, but I believe that those of us who love this country will not allow that to happen. Oh boy, I guess I do have some anger issues. Good thing writing it out works for me! ;)

PS. That means after it is written, I forget about it and go on to the next thing. Just in case you were wondering.

This is an open trackback post. Feel free to put your best, funniest, or misc. work here. Share it with others. Not familiar with trackbacks? First, choose the article you want to promote. Copy/paste my permalink (URL) to your post. Then send a trackback to me. Don't have one? You can use Wizbang Standalone Trackback Pinger. Otherwise, leave a comment for me with the permalink for your post, the name of your blog, and a small excerpt, and I will add it to the list.

No words of wisdom

How is your day going? I pray it is going well. Mine? You really want to know? ARGHH! How can a teeny weeny room need so much cleaning? Every single solitary piece of furniture, clothing, tables, etc. has not escaped the watchful eye of my brother. (Me too.) I swear it, you never realize how much STUFF you have that can be THROWN AWAY! Where did it all come from? Who hid it? How did that over there get in here?!

Well. There's really no sense in ranting about it, since I am the one that begged for it. That should teach me to be careful what I ask for...NOT. It might be painful, but it's necessary. A good cleaning helps to the mind clear. You may not believe it, but it's true. Doesn't mean ya have to like it, though. lol

So, in the meantime, ya'll have a great time with linking back to me and then trackbacking. I'll try to find an article to link back to with. How about Wednesday's Hero? Yes. I like that one. If you want words of wisdom, may I suggest some of the links from the posts that have trackbacked to me? ;)

Open Trackbacks, Linkfest, and You

There seems to be glitch in the system that I have made David aware of so that he can try to figure it out. In the meantime, please use the frontpage of Linkfest to locate the posts you want to link to today. You can get the name of the blog, the title of the post, and then to the post for the trackback URL itself.

We thank you for your patience while we are working diligently to solve this problem. Thank you, and have a great weekend! ;)

No one's home, go away, shhh, the GAME is on!

In case there happens to be a poor soul out there who doesn't have an interest in football (have you spoken to your doctor about this? lol), feel free to post a link to your work over here. I'm not going to be able to write anything today. There are many things happening, such as the state of Chad is under seige by jihadists, lots of firefighting, Canada is pulling no punches with NATO for being sissies in Afghanistan, and Kenya has been in a state of political and war-like trouble for over month now-since the election. But I can't spend enough time on them right now. Hey, this is one day out of the year, and I don't care what people think--I'M WATCHING THE GAME. So shut up. lol. Ooops. I mean...be quiet. ;)

[I have removed the widget from here, because it was slowing down my computer. Thank you.]

I am having an Open Super Bowl Trackback today. The best way to do this is by using Linkfest. Over to the left (on the sidebar), you will notice a word that says, 'Pinger'. Click that one and you can find several of people you could share your post with, you just have to remember to add their permalink to your site first. Also, trackback them to your post.

Update: I forgot to mention that the Burmese Monks are discussing their lost opportunity to finally win by protesting.

Update: WE WON! NEW YORK HAS WON! WE WON!

Post what you would like, maybe you can spread your readership and receive some as well. You can also comment. I'll respond late tonight or tomorrow. Have a great day, and please, understand that I am just being a little sarcastic. ;)

State slams diplomat for speaking 'truth to power'

Today you will be reading about someone you may never have heard of before, but that does not make him any less significant. This man was...WAS...an ambassador to North Korea. Why do I emphasize 'was'? Condi made sure she tore him a new one, instead of admitting that she was WRONG about Kim Jong Il (as I could have told her before she even tried to buy off the North Koreans. When will these idiots learn that you can't pay off a commie terrorist?).

I would like to start from the beginning, but I'm afraid my knowledge is not that extensive. I will start from when I became aware and started paying attention. This was in the 1990's. I do know that we fought a war between the north and south over there, that we did not declare victory or defeat but instead we called a ceasefire (which means, in essense, we are still at war with them), that there is a demilitarized zone which is heavily armed by both sides, it is constantly compromised by the north, the northerners are constantly trying to escape even though the punishment is death or the gulag, and the south does not want to allow them into their country even though some of them are direct relatives.

There, are we caught up? Good. Now for the problems. Mr. Jay Lefkowitz. He was working for the State Dept. for many years, but he was made to resign. Why? Well, how dare he undermine Condi! He was speaking at the American Enterprise Institute a couple of weeks ago when he stated, 'Noting that it has been more than two years since Pyongyang pledged to abandon its nuclear weapons program, and more than two weeks since it violated the latest deadline to disclose the full extent of that program, Mr. Lefkowitz observed that "it is increasingly clear that North Korea will remain in its present nuclear status when the Administration leaves office in one year."'

Wow. Pretty rough stuff, eh? Too bad the state dept doesn't have to search for bark of a tree to eat for food on a daily basis so they don't starve! This was the purpose of that statement: "Jay Lefkowitz, President Bush's special envoy for human rights in North Korea, has recently pointed out that our current approach to Pyongyang is failing. Lord help a diplomat who tells the truth."

Does anyone, besides me, remember why Bush hated Kim Jong Il so much? Yes, it was on the basis of humanitarian reasons. Of course there is the issue of nuclear weapons that have a role in this, but I would have thought he would take a hard stand on the humanitarian side. Over two million people have already starved to death, numerous have been murdered by the state, and no one says a damn thing. Thanks a heap, Bush. What happened to you? Who took your cajones?

To read the article over at the Wall Street Journal Opinion section, click here. Now if you will pardon me, I feel the need to beat up a pillow...

What a wake-up pain in the neck, lol

First, let me apologize for taking so long to post your trackbacks. Ya see, they were not showing up on my site, so I didn't know they were there. I do not know what is happening with haloscan, but I seem to have temporarily fixed the problem. It seems that somehow the trackbacks were put into moderation, which I did not have as my setting. I did not know what to do, so I e-mailed them. Of course, but I have not heard back. (I haven't exactly checked, though, so I may be incorrect on that. lol)

Anyway, since I never used the moderation, I didn't know how to 'okay' the trackbacks. So I proceeded as usual. I fidgetted. I tried a little of this and a little of that, and I finally hit the correct way. If this EVER happens to you, all you have to do is:

1. Go to 'Manage Trackbacks'.
2. If you notice there are trackbacks there that have not shown up on your trackback page, continue.
3. On the left side is the name of your post, in the middle is the trackback, these are the two I am discussing.
4. Click on YOUR post's link.
5. This will take you to YOUR trackback page.
6. I tested it to make sure, and my trackbacks were gone.
7. I tested the same link I tested, and it reappeared. So don't freak out if it disappears. ;)

That is our lesson for today about how to go around haloscan when the *itch doesn't want to act right. Now I have to go so I can check my e-mail. lol. Have a great day everyone!

PS. I've just noticed that sometimes it shows and sometimes not. I found a way to fix that, too. Just hit 'refresh', and you should be good to go. If you try to leave a trackback and are still unsure whether or not I received it, please e-mail me. (It isn't working for comments, either.)

Update: Haloscan has informed me about a 'hard refresh'. To do this, simply use the Shift+Refresh at the same time. That's pretty cool. I didn't know that little trick. Thank you, Haloscan.

(Original post time is 4:12 am, but I want to move this up above the other articles. This way I can see if any trackbacks are being held back.)

Wasted days and wasted nights

I have been trying to move all of my posts from 8 sites over to this one since June of this year, and here it, December 2007, and I am only on September 2004! (Start date: July 5, 2004.) Oh yes, I wake up early and go to sleep when my body gives way to the REM. I don't really know if I can call it REM, since I may be too exhausted to dream in lala land. As it may be, I have wasted much time.

I listen to the radio to keep up with the news. When I do that, I sometimes read and reread because it is getting too hard to listen and read at the same time. I must be getting old! That is when I determine to play a game while they are talking and reading during the commercials.

Then I look up at the clock and declare, "Holy crap! It's after 9pm and I haven't written a thing!" Well, in order to keep my promise to myself about writing at least once a day (not including comments), here is my verbage. LOL. Now I really must get back to work...have a nice evening. ;)
