Star Parker is running for Congress in the 37th district (California), and she is quite a lady. I saw her again at the rally and the Town Hall she isn't afraid of having on Monday. She is awesome.
She now has first commercial up and running, and I would love for you to visit it and leave your comments there and/or here.
In case this blog doesn't work properly, you will find the video here.
We have put so much hard work into trying to stop this health insurance boondoggle, the stimulus which only prevented the states from doing what was necessary, the car fiasco, the wall street fiasco, the bank fiasco, the finance fiasco, and the global warming fiasco. Dear Emperor, you have no clothes!
Am I indicating that some those fiascoes didn't need reform? No, I am not. What I am saying is that the Democrats did not only listen to any Conservative plans (they denied we had any, remember?), they would not even allow Republicans to offer anything during their behind the scenes deals.
I don't know about you, but I've about had it with both parties! Weak-kneed Republicans trying to be Democrat-light, and Democrats running as though they are Conservatives because they know that's the only way they can win. This leads to what we have just witnessed over the past two years. Dictatorship. And I, for one, am not having it.
I want my Life, Liberty, and Private Property that is GOD-GIVEN (not government-given) back. One way or the other. Hopefully at the ballot box. We must keep a close eye on the Democrats and ACORN though. No one is going to steal this election. (Yes, ACORN is alive and doing rotten things.)
Please vote for Star Parker if you live in this district. She is sincere, down to earth, accessible, honest (a rarity, I know), she is intelligent on the issues, she is just plain intelligent, and she knows of what she speaks. She started her own business, she is helping people and children of all colors in the inner cities and elsewhere, and that takes a lot of knowledge.
Also, can this woman speak! One day, I would like her to run for president, but let's concentrate on getting her elected Congresswoman for now. You may contribute to her campaign if you feel so inclined at Star Parker for Congress. I know she would appreciate your support. Out here in California, it costs a lot of money to put your ads on TV. Please consider a contribution. Thanks.
Pardon me for going on and on her, but I really like Star. I believe in her. I am also going to hold her feet to the fire, however! From now on, we have only just begun...Have a blessed day.

Steve Vaus Brings HOT News
There is a man who writes songs, his name is Steve Vaus. I have just received some very HOT news. He pulled off a recall of a corrupt councilwoman, and he threw his hat in the ring. No more sitting around and letting things stay the same. You GO Steve!
His songs are wonderful (they're still on sale for $27 for 4 of them! Just a few more days, so hurry), and his common sense is rare. We need him. It may be only a council seat, but look how the Tea Party started! One person said to the other person, "I want to do something, but what?" The other person responded, "Let's have a Tea Party!" And then the movement was born.
After that, we wanted to do it again. So on July 4, 2009 (INDEPENDENCE DAY) we had another. And another and another.
In order to clean up our state and our country, we need to start somewhere. I believe this is a very good place to start. If not here, where? If not now, when?
Here a few words he has spoken:
PS. Steve, is Ted related to Ed? I love that show. :)
May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

The way he does business, I know he will make Poway proud. Even if you do not live in his district, may I please ask you to contribute at least $5? You could always give more but if everyone who reads this gives just a little, he'd be on his way. Thank you so much for reading this. God bless your family, and have a great day.

U.S. looks forward to further progress on Coalition Support Fund payments
U.S. Embassy, Islamabad, Pakistan
ISLAMABAD (Feb. 26, 2010) – U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W. Patterson today said that the United States looks forward to working closely with the Government of Pakistan to reconcile its outstanding claims for 2009 Coalition Support Funds (CSF). She noted that just this week the United States made a payment of $349 million to Pakistan for all validated claims from 2008.
The Coalition Support Fund was established by the United States in 2001 to support allies for some of the legitimate costs they incur in the fight against extremist violence. Payments to Pakistan slowed recently because of the inability of Embassy personnel who process the payments to obtain Pakistani visas and/or visa extensions.
“Prime Minister Gilani’s offer to work with the United States to establish a transparent process on visas that will enable us to undertake the full range of activities to support our strong bilateral relationship including reimbursing legitimate and verifiable claims was a positive development,” Ambassador Patterson said. “We look forward to the creation of a visa mechanism that will enable U.S. officials to do our jobs without interference.”

Decision 2010: CA District 37
I see I've forgotten to keep you up-to-date. Shame on me. I've been running all over the town opening up the wrong bank account, filling out the wrong papers, and finally making it to the registrars office. After that I had to go to some office to get DBA (doing business as...) so the checks and credit cards will say the same thing as my new site, Welch for Congress 2010.
Now it's time to collect 1000 signatures from supporters who believe that Washington needs a good shaking up. Did I mention that I'm running for Congress CD 37? Everything is over at the other site since there will probably be a good amount of time spent there. Of course there will also be the time spent walking the beat.
Do you think PayPal is better than the others to collect contributions? VeriSign costs over $1400, so that's out. Too bad. I like them. If you have any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Ideas on everything! If you would like to help me on this campaign, please get in touch with me. I hope you can work as a volunteer at first. Remember this is grassroots and there hasn't been much rain around these parts. haha.
My platform?
Strong defense. Fiscal responsibility which includes only those things that the people ratified in the constitution to be delegated to the federal government, free and fair markets, life, Liberty, and leave us alone so we can achieve our dreams without yours or anyone elses permmission.
Thanks you guys. You're the tops. God bless your families and you.

Union Bosses Caught Stealing From Employees
There used to be a time when unions were absolutely necessary. As of late, however, it appears employees have to fend for themselves between the company and their union bosses. Check this out.

Washington, D.C. (May 28, 2009) – The Workforce Fairness Institute (WFI) today issued the following statement in response to news reports that the AFL-CIO has concealed the precarious state of its finances with “creative accounting.”
“Today’s news that union bosses have been cooking the books, and misusing and mishandling the hard-earned dollars of their workers is deeply disturbing, yet in no way surprising. This should serve as notice to those elected officials supporting the Employee ‘Forced’ Choice Act, a bill that rewards union bosses with unfettered and unlimited access to our nation’s small businesses,” said Katie Packer, executive director of the Workforce Fairness Institute. “Why Congress would even consider providing Big Labor heads with access to more power and more money, while they prove to lack the integrity and honesty to manage the finances and retirements of their own members is beyond bewildering. We stand united and will not allow worker protections afforded in the secret ballot and right to vote on contracts to be traded away in an effort to provide political payback at the expense of America’s small business community.”
A bill to eliminate secret ballot election in the workplace is currently making its way through Congress. Something like this could never happen, right? Actually, it could. Under the so-called “Employee Free Choice Act,” workers, in violation of our Democratic principles, would be denied their American right to a private ballot in union organizing elections in the workplace. Workers would be forced to publicly state their vote -- for everyone to see. This is more appropriately called the FORCED CHOICE ACT and would fundamentally change the rights of employees in the workplace … it would force unions on them; force contracts on them and force payment of dues on them.

BACKGROUND:
“The AFL-CIO, the largest U.S. union organization, concealed deteriorating finances through ‘creative accounting,’ according to a union leader. Tom Buffenbarger, president of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, said in a report that the labor federation obscured its financial difficulties heading into last year’s presidential election campaign, in which it backed Democrat Barack Obama. Net assets of the 11 million-member AFL-CIO declined to a negative $2.3 million as of June 30, 2008, from a $66 million surplus on July 1, 2000. ‘A new leadership — leaders chosen by our members, leaders help accountable by our members — is needed,’ wrote Buffenbarger, who is a member of the AFL-CIO’s finance committee and the president of one of the nation’s largest unions. Alison Omens, a spokeswoman for the AFL-CIO, declined to comment on the report.” (Holly Rosenkrantz, “Creative Accounting Masked AFL-CIO’s Finances, Official Says,” Bloomberg News, 5/29/09)

Gates Visits Afghanistan-Bound Marines
by Fred W. Baker III
American Forces Press Service
CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (April 23, 2009) – Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates today briefly escaped from Capital Beltway budget discussions to land squarely in the center of what he said framed his strategy behind the fiscal year 2010 defense budget proposals.
With his suit jacket off and wearing a U.S. Marine Corps hat, Gates was surrounded by young Marines here as he posed for pictures and handed out coins while visiting with some of the 8,000 Marines who are slated to deploy to southern Afghanistan in the next few weeks with the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade.
It was, Gates said, a visit that struck at the core of his proposed budget changes that would shift billions of dollars in warfighter programs away from traditional supplemental funding and into the base budget and cut some big-ticket weapons programs, as Gates tries to balance the need to plan for future conflicts while providing for today’s troops and families.
“One dollar of pork in our budget is a dollar I can’t spend to support these Marines,” Gates said at a news conference during his visit. “One dollar spent on capabilities we don’t need is a dollar that I can’t spend in getting ready for future threats. One dollar spent for equipment excess to our military requirements is a dollar I can’t use to help protect the American people.”
Gates spent last week traveling to each of the service’s war colleges explaining his budget thinking, but this was some of the strongest rhetoric yet from the defense secretary as Congress returned this week to begin its budget deliberations.
“I’m hoping that the Congress will take a careful look at this budget and the changes that we’re trying to make, in no small part, to provide the necessary support for these men and women who are about to go into combat,” Gates said.
Gates left Washington at about the time many in the Pentagon were just arriving for work and landed under sunny, spring skies at this 156,000-acre coastal training site that prepares Marines for deployment to combat and humanitarian missions. Camp Lejeune has three state-of-the-art training facilities for military operations in urban terrain, or MOUT, and 80 live-fire ranges.
True to its mission of training Marines for war, the sounds of rapid gunfire could be heard in the background as Gates talked to the media. “I actually haven’t given a press conference with that kind of a background since my first visit to Baghdad in December 2006,” he joked.
Earlier, perched on a railing overlooking the newest of the urban training facilities, Gates watched as about 30 Marines from the 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion assaulted the makeshift metal buildings. Mock insurgents peppered them with blank-fire from the rooftops as the troops advanced.
Smoke and sounds of gunfire and grenade blasts filled the air during the 10-minute assault, which served as the final exercise for this stage in the Marines’ pre-deployment training.
Gates also got a first-hand look at the training that will prepare the Marines to deal with the latest in countering improvised explosive devices. In a metal building with camouflage netting draping from the walls, Gates watched as a combat veteran flipped through slides detailing the latest threats and how to avoid them.
He also pinned achievement awards on the chests of four Marines. At one point, Gates detoured from the dusty training area road on which his entourage was walking to shake the hands of some Marines training in the nearby tree line.
The secretary also had his customary luncheon with Marines, ushering out the media and key leaders.
These Marines are the first wave of the 17,000-troop build-up that President Barack Obama ordered to bolster the 38,000 American troops already in Afghanistan. Many in the brigade already have deployed, or are on leave before deploying. Officials said many are on their third or fourth deployment, and Gates called the Marines part of the “most battle-hardened force the United States has probably ever seen in its history.”
Gates said he hopes that the overall increase in the Marines’ end strength by 27,000 Marines, along with the continued drawdown in Iraq, will help to alleviate some of the burden of frequent deployments and to increase time at home with their families. Marines should see some relief by the end of this year and the start of next, Gates said.
But still, Gates said, those he talked to were eager to join the fight in Afghanistan. All have volunteered to serve since the war in Afghanistan began, he noted. “For months [Marine Corps Commandant] General [James T.] Conway has been telling me that the Marines in Anbar province in Iraq are, frankly, bored and want to get in the fight,” Gates said. “And that certainly was the impression that I got this morning.”
Marine Corps Cpl. Bryan Goldberg, who shook hands with the secretary, said he was looking forward to the deployment. “It’s going to be pretty hectic over there. It’s a kinetic environment,” he said. “We’re just going to do our best, and come home safe.”
Marine Corps Cpl. Jeffrey Haertling was one of the recipients of the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He said Gates’ visit underscores the importance of their upcoming mission, and that having the defense secretary present his award was a special treat. “It meant a lot,” he said. “Any time you get an award it means a lot, but to have the secretary of defense come, it was nice.”
But, it was the defense secretary coin that was the real prize of the visit for Haertling and others. The Marines walked away eyeing their coins, flipping them over in their palms. “Not many people can beat that coin. That’s definitely the highest coin that I’ve seen,” Haertling said.
And, in keeping with the long-held military tradition that whoever holds a coin from the highest-ranking individual drinks for free, the young Marine said he likely will not have to buy another round for his remaining time in the Corps. “No, I will not,” Haertling said with a laugh.

Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates thanks Marines for their at Camp Lejeune prior to their upcoming deployment to Afghanistan.

McClintock: TARP, Silent Majority Speaks Out
Here are two of Congressman McClintock's blog postings. They are fantastic, and I want to share them with you. It truly is a treat to have at least one Conservative in Congress!
******************************
Rep. McClintock Introduces Bill That Allows Banks To Repay TARP Funds.
This week Rep. Tom McClintock introduced legislation that allows banks to immediately pay back Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) funds to the U.S. Treasury. Banks which were pressured to accept TARP funding are now facing serious obstacles, uncertainty and continued government control in their efforts to return the funds to taxpayers.
Click here to read his remarks, "Accepting Our Money Back" when he introduced the measure.
------------------------------
The Silent Majority Is No Longer Silent.
Here is an excerpt from Rep. McClintock's speech at the Sacramento Tax Day Tea Party.
Our opponents seek to portray us as angry taxpayers. No, we are not angry taxpayers. We are resolute Americans. And today, we here highly resolve that the liberties defended on far-off battlefields by ten generations of American patriots and heroes will not be casually thrown away here at home – not on our generation's watch.
We are here because we, as a people, are awakening to the danger of a government that spends too much and borrows too much and taxes too much, because we know what that means.
We know that you can't spend your way rich.
We know that you can't borrow your way out of debt.
And we know that you can't tax your way to prosperity.

Gates: Afghan Support Makes Economic Sense
by Donna Miles
Armed Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON (Nov. 24, 2008) – Tough economic times are no excuse for the international community to withhold support for Afghanistan, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates told reporters returning with him Nov. 21 from a two-day defense ministerial in Nova Scotia, Canada. Gates called it shortsighted for some to consider cutting troop support or funding in Afghanistan, particularly in light of the threats that remain there. “They’ll have to weigh the consequences of not doing it,” he told reporters.
The secretary said during a news conference in Cornwallis, Canada, that Afghanistan poses “some significant challenges,” with insurgents finding sanctuary in the western border area and new recruits joining the insurgency during the past two years. A key to countering this, he said, is to continue going after the Taliban, al-Qaida and other threats while building Afghan security forces so they can assume full responsibility for the country’s security.
NATO is building a trust fund to underwrite the effort and nearly doubling the Afghan security forces to 134,000 members. Despite its estimated $17 billion price tag, Gates called it a solid investment. “There is a huge disproportion between what it costs to train and equip an Afghan soldier and what it costs to put an American soldier in Afghanistan, trained and equipped and sustained,” he said. “It is an order of many orders of magnitude, [and that’s] true of other countries as well.” Ultimately, he said, it’s in everyone’s best interest to speed up the process in building up the Afghan national security forces. “Over the long term, your interests in getting out [of Afghanistan] are served by making a contribution to expanding the Afghan army.”
Gates said during a NATO defense ministerial last month in Bucharest, Hungary, that he encountered no “push-back” on either the expansion of the Afghan National Army or creation of a NATO trust fund to help pay for it. “I think there is a broad understanding that, ultimately, the expansion of the Afghan security forces is everybody’s ticket out of there,” he told reporters.
Canadian Defense Minister Peter MacKay, who hosted last week’s meeting, reiterated the call for other NATO countries to support the effort through trainers, equipment or funding. “Other countries should be under no illusion,” MacKay said. “We are still asking for them to pick up the slack and share the burden.”

19,000 people who live in America are actually ‘rich’. Do you want to make a bet that they don’t know how to hide their wealth or income? Then what does Obama do? That is correct. He taxes YOU.
Just as a reminder...45% of the people DO NOT pay income taxes. This was helped by the Bush tax cuts that everyone is now saying he did not help the poor. Come again?

Stop Crying About Money
Are you a slave of money or of God? These days, it's hard to tell. We are supposed to be a Christian nation but all you are concerned about is money. Do you have a roof over your head? How about food in the fridge? Anyone chasing you to cut off your head if you don't convert to their definition Islam? Well, you're doing better than most of the people in the world! You ingrates.
Let's go back to the hierarchy, shall we? On the first level of Maslow's hierarchy, there are the psychology needs: breathing, food, water, sex, sleep, homeostasis, and excretion as the most necessary to life. Without these, the rest do not matter.
The next level up is security which includes security of body, employment, resources, morality, family, health and property. These are the things we achieve after the first level of Maslow's hierarchy has been met. Only then do we have the luxury of the third level, which is love/belonging: friendship, family, and sexual intimacy.
As these attributes become a part of our lives, we then move to the esteem level which includes self-esteem, confidence, achievement, respect of others and respect by others. No wonder there is such a disconnect in our society these days. Everyone is trying to teach self-esteem without having to work for it or earn it through one's own failures and efforts by getting back up and trying again.
Ah, the one where most people are at (which they do NOT belong) is actualization. Imagine that. You try to actualize yourself and you haven't even held a job, left home to be on your own, fallen and gotten back up again, or anything that is necessary for your laud your expert college knowledge (bullcrap) over those who have actually done that which you CANNOT. A little jealously, maybe? (That is in reference to those elitists who want Communism to visit the US of A!)
So what does actualization consist of? Morality, creativity, spontaneity, problem solving, lack of prejudice, and acceptance of facts.
You know what? It's been a while since I've been in school, but it hasn't been that long! This is not Maslow's Hierarchy! Geesh. We didn't have wacky words like this. It was simple and to the point. This information came from wikipedia, so take it with a grain of salt.
I noticed one thing remarkably missing. Religion. Morality is NOT religion. Without religion, there is no morality. Who is there to say, 'Thou shalt not murder'? Hmm? If you do not understand what I just said, you may, MAY, be part of the problem.
Now that I've explained Maslow's Hierarchy as much as I am willing to, let me explain why I believe it is possible for poor people to be greedy and rich people to be generous and vice versa.
If you want something for nothing, you are selfish. If you choose to help someone financially you do not even know without any expection of repayment, you are generous. Maybe. It is possible some people do this for tax purposes, to feel good, to be able to say, 'Look at me! I gave all of this money away!', and so on. MOST Americans are NOT in that category.
I have met some poor people who don't even consider themselves poor, and I've met some poor people that would rob you blind and justify it because they have nothing. This is why there should be NO class warfare.
Are you hurting because of the drop in the stock market? Really? Were you really going to sell that stock tomorrow and now it's less money per share? I don't think so! Do you remember the tech bubble? How about Enron? WE RECOVERED. So please. Remember your very short and long past, and do not panic. It is going to be alright.
The only thing I regret is that I don't have a broker. I wanted to get right back out there and buy some of those stocks when they hit $4/share! Man. What a break! Yes. THIS is the time to buy, as long as you know what you are buying. There is a harvest out there just waiting to be plucked, and everybody's whining. It's driving me nuts! So stop it! ;)

This is a great video that explains the origins, lawsuits against ACORN, criminal indictments, illegal practices, and more by ACORN. This is also a Democrat tool to steal elections. Watch this 8:32 minutes video, and come to your own conclusions. Do the research on your own. Do not believe everything (or anything for that matter) you see or hear.
Here is the link for this video: The Lowdown On ACORN. You would be wise to download this to your computer and encode it with your own embeds. Otherwise, it may disappear as soon as google finds out about it. Yes, they are censoring everything about the truth of the Obama campaign. Very democratic, eh?

I've decided against digging this, because they will run to the Obama campaign and have it censored. Shame on you Democrats who are always crying crocodile tears for free speech. SHAME!

BULLY!
We are to make informed decisions when we vote and to do this, we must judge the candidates. But how? One of the best ways I've is to look at the company they keep.
I have to say, I do not think as highly as I once did of Sen. Obama. It started with Reverend Wright, and now this. There is more, but why bother? This is enough for me to decide that he does not have the judgement neccessary to lead the United States in these dangerous times.
The Soviets are on the march, China feels empowered to lock-up journalists and peaceful protesters, Iran continues to build nuclear weapons while we can't even build a nuclear power plant! No, he is NOT 'the one'.
I sure do hope that one of our great conservative men or women who happened to be black would run for president. I long so much for a black person to fill that office. Why? Then maybe the healing can begin. They will have reached the highest height, fought the ugliest campaign (aren't they all?), they will have achieved the Dream.
But not this time. Oh, I almost forgot the main topic. This post is about the quelching the free-speech of those with whom one disagrees. Namely, Obama wants the US Justice dept. to investigate conservative donors who have contributed money to American Issues Project, Inc., ("AIP"). They are responsible for the creation of this video, and he wants them to go to jail for voicing their concerns.
Go figure. Also, he has threatened the stations not to play it, even if they have paid for the air time. How endearing...NOT. They even have their 'associates' looking into the public records of all conservative donors so they can intimidate them! Michelle has all the info. at her site, Document drop: Turning the tables again on Obama's speech-squelching thugs.
Just one more questions. If you are not going to answer our concerns, if you refuse to be questioned about anything, if you have reporters jailed, could you please just how in the world you propose to bring this country together? Yeah, that's what I want...
Hat tip: Mark My Words.
May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

...Obama's attempt to bully TV stations airing the ad and stop scrutiny of his radical ties is part and parcel of a larger campaign to chill the free speech of conservative political activists and donors. As Michelle Malkin says, please pass this on.

I have found this article, written by Navy Lt. Neil Myers Special to American Forces Press Service, at DVIDSHub. It is amazing to me that we do not hear more of these stories from Afghanistan, but the media wants us to believe this is the forgotten war. Forgotten by who? Not you. Not me. Maybe them? Anyway, who needs them?
The UN has a special office named, "United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime", and apparently they reward people for cleaning up their drug problem. Let's take a look first at what has occurred in past few years. In the years 2006 and 2007, this province was nearly poppy free.
The governor of this province is not quite sure yet how spend the rest of the money, but he does have some ideas. He would like to build some irrigation canals, improve education, and then possible use the rest for either one big project or many smaller district projects. I vote for the smaller districts, but that's me.
He is very proud of the people in his province, especially the elders, as am I, because he knows this would not be possible without their support and efforts.
PS. I just want to add something that was not in this story but I know to be true. It was also done with 'a little help' by the US Military. HOOAH!

U.N. Agency Declares Afghan Province 'Nearly Poppy-Free'.This is wonderful. This is good encouragement, by using other methods of working to achieve a good economy, and this is a way to show other provinces how to prosper without growing the poppies that are aiding the Taliban and AQ. Without this money, who knows? They may even have to get a job! LOL. Seriously though.During a July 6 trip to the province, Afghanistan's minister for counternarcotics, Gen. Khodaidad, announced that Konar has qualified for two monetary awards totaling $750,000 from the Counternarcotics Trust Fund.
Konar Gov. Sayed Fazlullah Wahidi and his provincial council decided to use $420,000 of that money to upgrade the Konar Teacher Training College with a 60-room dormitory, dining facility and meeting hall. A lack of dormitories requires students of either to commute or to rent local accommodations while attending school.
"This is a great day for Konar and Afghanistan", said Navy Cmdr. Daniel Dwyer, Konar Provincial Reconstruction Team commander. "When you see the government of Afghanistan, on its own, bringing projects to its people that provide for long-term jobs and economic growth, it shows everyone that progress is well on its way."

"The people of Konar deserve the credit for the poppy eradication," Wahidi said. "All the tribal elders and people of Konar are committed to putting an end to this [poppy] seed, because the smuggling, trafficking and growing of narcotics is forbidden by Islam."I don't care much for the so-called religion, but I'm grateful to them for stopping the spread of heroin. Good job, you guys. Keep up the good work.

Money is not America's God
For many years I have been arguing that the dollar is not the guiding force behind the American Dream. It is only a result of it. Allow me to explain.
America was founded upon an idea. The idea all men are created equal. The idea that Life, Liberty and Private Property were essential and attainable only by a free society governed by those chosen by the people to represent them.
Ideas are powerful things which need vigilant defending. Especially when they are as good as ours are. Those ideals were and are the fact that we are individuals, responsible for ourselves, we have the capacity to dream and to fulfill those dreams or at least to try, we strive for goodness, we know men are of an evil heart so we do not leave all power in the hand of any one person, we have ownership of property of the people not the government (although you'd never know it today), and along with all these ideals we have responsibilities that come alongside them.
The only thing I mentioned that costs money is the private property. That is the fruits of the freedom we possess because some people sacrificed their home comforts and went to fight for them. We did not get here freely, and we shall not remain here freely. We all owe a debt to one another to do our very best to do whatever it takes to remain free. Let's face it. If we are not free, what good is all the money in the world?
So where is this leading? Glad you asked. Wealth is not about money. Not in my book. In my book, this is what wealth is. I have a family that knows me and still puts up with me anyway because they love me, I have a roof over my head and food in my belly, I have everything I need and most of the things I desire, and I am equal to Bill Gates. I live in a country where I can strive to attain this or that, I have so many rights because they were given by God not man, and I am able to worship my Christian God as I choose. Show me another country with all of this. I dare you.
How did this country come to offer such freedoms and rights? Through wars. Many wars. Some declared but most not. This is not the first time we've had a run in with Islamo nuts. Does anyone remember the Barbary Coast? They were Muslims. Jefferson finally stood up to them, and we became famous for our Navy. (Okay, so I would like to think so.) Actually, they were stealing our trading ships, and we refused to pay the ransom. We went and took back our men, and that was the end to that.
NOT LIKE TODAY when Israel trades dead bodies for terrorists to appease a world that doesn't give a crap about them in the first place. Politically Islamists will not change their minds, because we are their enemies. They have declared war against us, and if you're not going to get on board, then get out of the way and let our men FIGHT.
War is not pretty. It is not courteous. It is not civilized. So stop expecting this from men who have been trained to handle these monsters. More men have died because of political correctness than anything else, and I, for one, am sick to death of it.
Our country IS worth fighting for, as we are in battle with them now. The one thing I would change about this whole scenario is that I would abolish the force behind the onslaught of murders, beheadings, rapes, hangings, genital mutilation, etc. Islam appears to fit the bill. We did it when we came here, we did it in Japan. Why can't we do it there? Don't tell me we're afraid, because we're not. It is not a religion of peace, it is a political war tool. As long as we fight as if they are equal, as if they read the geneva convention, they are going to win. That is the one thing I will not, cannot, accept.
What does this have to do with money? Ask the politicians! They can tell you how much we spend every month, and they can also tell you what they would prefer to spend that money on. Funny thing though. If we were not at war, there would NOT be this money. So please, tell me Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain, where would you get the money from because I'm sure not going to give it to you! It may be your god, but it certainly is not mine.
PS. Don't forget, the money we are spending for gas is going into the pockets of the terrorists indirectly. Are you walking when it is possible? The exercise is good for you. I have walked ever since my car was stolen. Long story, not going to tell it. How's that for short?
The accelerant that lit my beehive was that the banks are accepting money in a way that this group claims is under Sharia law. However I couldn't find the basis for this fact. (Maybe this has something about Sharia law.)
It still burns me up inside. If it is true, then they should all be shut down in my humble opinion. This is why I say we must rid this scourge from the face of the earth. I am not referring to the people who follow it, unless they are jihadis. Of course not. But if they don't choose America above this scourge, then get them out of here.
There is another article about a mole. It speaks about all the arrests of people who have already been allowed into this country, some are not even citizens and they have been HIRED by our own government and had access to sensitive secrets. Just what the heck is going on over in the State Department?! Oh yeah, diversity is their priority. Living just happens to be one of mine!
PSS. Remember this. We can serve one master. Some people believe in global warming as if it were their master, some people believe there is no God as their master. My master is the Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him, I can do everything, and I live in a land that was built on this principle along with the tenents of Christianity and the Ten Commandments. Thank GOD!

Tanker Saga Continues; Bidding Process Reopened

The Air Force’s troubled attempt to build a new aerial refueling tanker aircraft is now in the hands of the Pentagon, which will oversee a new bidding process. Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates said this week that a department official, John Young, will be in charge of the competition.
Young is defense undersecretary for acquisition, technology and logistics and is the top weapons buyer for the Pentagon.
The tanker contract was awarded by the Air Force on Feb. 29 to Northrop Grumman and European Aeronautic Defence and Space, the parent of Airbus. However, Boeing, which also submitted a bid for the $40 billion contract, protested. The award was also blasted in political circles because much of the aircraft would be built in France.
The Government Accountability Office investigated and found “significant errors” with the process that may have tipped the contract away from Boeing. In light of that report, Gates has reopened the bidding and said a selection could be made by the end of the year.
This is not the first trouble with the tanker acquisition. In 2003, an Air Force official and one with Boeing went to jail after a deal was made to lease tanker aircraft from Boeing.
The tanker was the topic of a House Armed Services subcommittee meeting on Thursday, where lawmakers wanted answers for the difficulties in successfully awarding a contract. They wondered if the problems were limited to the Air Force or if the Pentagon’s entire acquisition process was flawed.
“Is it too complex?” asked Rep. Neil Abercrombie, D-Hawaii, the subcommittee chairman. “Do we have the right people? Do we have the right training?”
May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him.

Veteran's Benefits
Although this is often confusing to our members of Congress, most of our members returning from deployment are both veterans and participating service-members in the Selected Reserves subject to redeployment. Health care for our member/veterans remains very much a readiness issue.
Many have compared the confusing flood of information regarding veterans’ benefits given to our members and their families upon returning from deployment to “drinking from a fire hose.” Rep. Paul Hodes (D-N.H) has introduced legislation (HR 2192) that would amend Title 38 of the US code to establish the Office of an Ombudsman within the Department of Veterans Affairs. HR 2192 would empower the ombudsman to act as a liaison for veterans and their family members with respect to the receipt of health care and benefits administered by the Department. HR 2192 would require the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure that the ombudsman’s services and the office’s contact information would be available to all veterans and their family members. Any information provided by veterans or their family members to the Office would be disclosed only to the extent necessary to carry out the duties of the Office. The House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs (HCVA) will consider the bill at an upcoming hearing.
