Tea Party Patriots: Onward March in Remembrance of Andrew Breitbart

Today is a very sad day because of America's loss of Andrew Breitbart, but he would encourage us to move forward most enthusiastically. For those who have been on the sidelines, it's okay. Pick up your banners and join us so we can finally bring our country to its constitionally limitted authority.

Andrew Breitbart was born in 1969, he leaves behind a very charming wife and four children. He was 43 years old. This is tragic.

I would like an autopsy so we can know possitively that no jihadi can claim responsibility for Andrew's demise, because he put his life on the line for ALL Americans. It is true that his life was in danger for us.

Now it appears the only way to pay tribute to our well respected and tirelessly working friend is to pick up where he left off so what he started was not in vain. I accept this challenge. I am back.

Please contact me if you can help in any way toward our next Tea Party (Long Beach Patriots) on April 15, 2012.

Lastly but NOT leastly. Please pray for Andrew's family, friends, and other loved ones. Please send them words of encouragement. If anyone feels the need to send them angry, obscene words, please remember that God is watching you. I do not have to because God will take care of this family and He will also deal with you. So please stay away if you do not want to be encouraging. Thank you.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

This Is Crying Funny

I was just emailed this, and oh how true it is. The sad thing is that it is true. It is about a Governor, a dog, and a coyote. Read on:
California is a big government State.

Arizona is a direct, small government State .

California spends tens of millions on small things.

Arizona recognizes small things and does not take them seriously.

Which State handles problems better--the State welcoming illegal aliens or the State enforcing the Rule of Law?

Pass this on to your friends.

(sent to me by a friend, not sure who the author is)

California:

The Governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out, bites the Governor and attacks his dog.

1. The Governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie "Bambi" and then realizes he should stop; the coyote is only doing what is natural.
2. He calls animal control. Animal Control captures coyote and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases and $500 for relocating it.
3. He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases.
4. The Governor goes to hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and on getting his bite wound bandaged.
5. The running trail gets shut down for 6 months while Fish & Game conducts a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is free of dangerous animals.
6. The Governor spends $50,000 in state funds implementing a "coyote awareness" program for residents of the area.
7. The State Legislature spends $2 million to study how to better treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the world.
8. The Governor's security agent is fired for not stopping the attack somehow and for letting the Governor attempt to intervene.
9. Additional cost to State of California : $75,000 to hire and train a new security agent with additional special training re: the nature of coyotes.
10. PETA protests the coyote's relocation and files suit against the State.

Arizona:

The Governor of Arizona is jogging with her dog along a nature trail. A Coyote jumps out and attacks her dog.

1. The Governor shoots the coyote with her State-issued pistol and keeps jogging. The Governor has spent $0.50 on a .45 ACP hollow point cartridge.
2. The Buzzards eat the dead coyote.

And that's why California is broke.
Hat tip: Stephen.

Oh, what dreaded shores we surf! (Don't ask me what this has to do with coyotes, governors, or dogs; but I thought it sounded good.) Have a blessed day, all. ;)

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again. Digg! Digg!

Fighting Against Obamacare

Today is a day for celebration. It is 'We the People', and what better place to say it than Wisconsin. They have told Washington to leave them alone in no uncertain terms when they voted to tell them to leave their medical decisions to themselves.

We have finally come upon the season when we get a voice and oh brother, are they going to hear from us! Just read further:

Obamacare Loses Big in Missouri; Voters Reject Individual Mandate.
Missouri voters dealt Obamacare a significant setback yesterday, approving a statewide ballot measure by an overwhelming 3-to-1 margin.

The vote was the first time citizens had an opportunity to cast a ballot on the unpopular health care law. Missouri’s measure prohibits the federal government’s enforcement of the individual mandate to buy health insurance. The victory sends a strong message about Obamacare in a bellwether state.

~snip~

Contrary to a myth spread by the left, opponents had a sizable advantage in resources. The Missouri Hospital Association spent more than $400,000, while Missourians for Health Care Freedom estimated its funding would total about $100,000 in support of Proposition C.

Yesterday’s vote came just one day after a federal judge allowed Virginia’s case against the individual mandate to proceed. Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli challenged the Obamacare provision on the grounds that the federal government cannot regulate a person’s decision to purchase a product such as insurance. U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson rejected the Obama administration’s request to dismiss the case Monday.

This week’s events are symbolic in the quest to repeal Obamacare. Missouri is one of four states to put Obamacare on the ballot this year. The other three — Arizona, Florida and Oklahoma — have constitutional amendments up for consideration in November.

~snip~

Lawmakers in 38 states have introduced the model legislation and three other states are planning to do so soon. [Continue reading for links and more info.
I did not take the time to put in the links, because I am so backed up on the news. There is a link to the article I've quoted, so that should be helpful. Gosh, you go Wisconsin! Great job.

Sherrod Treated Southern Blacks Badly?

When I read what is below, I got very angry. I apologize to every black person for asking people not to speak poorly about Ms. Sherrod. I do not understand for life of me how anyone can treat people in such a manner and still consider themselves to be a part of the Civil Rights Movement. She should have put on a sheet...

Massa Shirley Sherrod?
Black Conservatives Speak Out on Leftist Accusations About Past Unfair Labor Practices From New Civil Rights Hero.

Washington, D.C. - A bombshell accusation by the left against fired U.S. Department of Agriculture employee Shirley Sherrod regarding alleged grossly improper labor practices against black farm workers in the 1970s is causing members of the Project 21 black leadership network to speak out.

"There has been a mighty effort by liberals to present Shirley Sherrod as a victim -- even a saint-like figure. However, after revelations that her husband, Charles, is an anti-white bigot and that she adheres to class warfare politics, it's now being alleged that Ms. Sherrod presided over the crass exploitation of poor black workers on a southwest Georgia agricultural 'plantation,'" said Project 21 member Joe R. Hicks.

Hicks, a former executive director of the Greater Los Angeles chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and currently host of "The Hicks File" at PJTV.com, added: "The fellow making the claim is none other than Ron Wilkins, an ex-SNCC organizer, who should know what he's talking about. Wilkins says he once worked on the Sherrod-managed plantation in the 1970s. I know this guy from the early days of 'Black Power' politics in Los Angeles and he's known to be a straight shooter. If Wilkins claims are proven to be true, Sherrod owes an explanation and an apology -- not only to Wilkins but the other black farm workers she misused."

In an article posted on the left-wing Counterpunch web site on August 2, Ron Wilkins reported that Shirley Sherrod and her husband, Charles, helped manage the New Communities, Inc. farm in Albany, Georgia in the 1970s. Wilkins claimed the Sherrods and other managers "under-paid, mistreated and fired black laborers -- many of them less than 16 years of age -- in the same fields of southwest Georgia where their ancestors suffered under chattel slavery."

Wilkins, a former organizer for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee who is now a professor at California State University - Dominguez Hills, says he infiltrated the NCI operation in 1974 on behalf of a group overseeing NCI called the Emergency Land Fund. Wilkins claims his later efforts to organize NCI workers while working there led to his firing, eviction for an NCI-owned "shack" and arrest on "bogus" charges.

Wilkins added:
Shirley Sherrod was New Communities Inc. store manager during the 1970s. As such, Mrs. Sherrod was a key member of the NCI administrative team, which exploited and abused the workforce in the field. The 6,000-acre New Communities Inc. in Lee County promoted itself during the latter part of the 1960s and throughout the 70s as a land trust committed to improving the lives of the rural black poor. Underneath this facade, the young and old worked long hours with few breaks, the pay averaged sixty-seven cents an hour, fieldwork behind equipment spraying pesticides was commonplace and workers expressing dissatisfaction were fired without recourse.
In 1974, 67 cents had the purchasing power of $2.91 in 2009 dollars according to the website measuringworth.com. Wilkins claims he made $40 a week ($174 in 2009 dollars) at the time he was fired. His 2010 claims about conditions at the NCI farm and managers' anti-labor behavior are reported in a September 28, 1974 article in the United Farm Workers newspaper El Malcriado -- which specifically cites Charles Sherrod as a manager of the farm.

"It truly is shocking to see someone supposedly dedicated to civil rights now exposed for her involvement in the ugly exploitation of black workers approaching their total abuse in the ante-bellum South," said Deroy Murdock, a Project 21 member who is also a nationally-syndicated columnist with Scripps Howard News Service and media fellow with the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. "Once again, those on the right are supposed to be the 'bad guys' who make life difficult for black Americans. Yet here we have Shirley Sherrod, hailed as a black civil rights leader, allegedly taking advantage of poor black Americans, keeping them poor and firing those who complain about mistreatment."

Counterpunch is a web site edited by respected leftist journalists Alexander Cockburn and Jeffrey St. Clair. Wilkins' article can be found here, and a scan of the El Malcriado article can be found here while the entire newspaper in which the article is found is at http://tw0.us/MkU.

Wilkins reports that NCI went out of business in 1985.

Project 21, a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization sponsored by the National Center for Public Policy Research, has been a leading voice of the African-American community since 1992.
I will leave you with this last thought. Is it worth to gain the whole world and lose your own soul, Ms. Sherrod?

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again. Digg! Digg!

Founders' Daily Quote(s): 7/19-23/10

Monday, July 19, 2010.
"The great leading objects of the federal government, in which revenue is concerned, are to maintain domestic peace, and provide for the common defense. In these are comprehended the regulation of commerce that is, the whole system of foreign intercourse; the support of armies and navies, and of the civil administration." --Alexander Hamilton, remarks to the New York Ratifying Convention, 1788

Tue. 7/20.
"In the first place, it is to be remembered, that the general government is not to be charged with the whole power of making and administering laws. Its jurisdiction is limited to certain enumerated objects, which concern all the members of the republic, but which are not to be attained by the separate provisions of any." --James Madison, Federalist No. 14, 1787.

Wed. 7/21.
"Were we directed from Washington when to sow, and when to reap, we should soon want bread." --Thomas Jefferson, autobiography, 1821.

Remind you of our government recently?

Thu. 7/22.
"[W]hen all government, domestic and foreign, in little as in great things, shall be drawn to Washington as the center of all power, it will render powerless the checks provided of one government on another." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to Charles Hammond, 1821.

Remind you of Obama?

Fri. 7/23.
"While the constitution continues to be read, and its principles known, the states, must, by every rational man, be considered as essential component parts of the union; and therefore the idea of sacrificing the former to the latter is totally inadmissible." --Alexander Hamilton, speech to the New York Ratifying Convention, 1788.

Could he be referring to the Sovereignty of the State? Oh my!

Dems Are For Human Rights?

If this is human rights, then I must be in Iran...

Just in case this page has a problem with the video, you may view it at BigGovernment.com.

UPDATE: This has got to stop. This is our country, Democrats and Republicans and however else has a problem with that. If you feel you do not serve for the people of this great country, then open up your Constitution and read the Declaration of Independence as well. People will only be pushed so far. Keep it up...

I have copied Breitbart's response to the talking points the Democrats released to their thugs (I don't care what you think, Boxer, you're a thug), and I couldn't have said it better. Here:
Dems Defend Etheridge, Attack Breitbart
by Alexander Marlow

The next time someone asks you to explain “the politics of personal destruction,” use this example: Video surfaces of a United States Congressman attacking a college student, grabbing him by the wrist, neck, and body, and assaulting another student’s camera. The U.S. Representative refuses to immediately release the first student despite the student’s repeated pleas. You are an official of that Congressman’s political party. How do you respond? You attack the publisher of a website that released the video. Behold, from Politico’s Ben Smith:
A national Democratic Party official e-mailed around a set of talking points about an hour ago, under the subject heading, “Etheridge Gotcha Video Background.”

Democrats are seeking to raise questions about the video, which first appeared on Andrew Breitbart’s Big Government, because of what’s widely viewed as the media’s mishandling of the ACORN story, which emerged without context from edited videos. In particular, party officials say the video was likely taken by a tracker for the Republican Party, which would explain the effort taken to conceal his identity.
From the talking points:
Push hard w/ blogs the lack of credibility inherent to anything Breitbart does/posts, given its role in the debunked ACORN videos:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/21/opinion/21pubed.html?src=twrhttp://mediamatters.org/research/201006010001.

http://gawker.com/5508190/okeefe-and-breitbart-acorn-videos-severely-edited.
Considering Congressman Etheridge has already apologized and said there was no excuse for his behavior, it’s seems like this may have been a battle the Democrats should have sat out. Too late now.
The nerve of some people. I'd like to address all people who are NOT politicians. Please be skeptical of all of them, even your own party. They lie to get elected for the most part, and they spend us into destruction. Both parties. This, however, is not the way to respond to a couple students wanting to ask questions. All he had to say was, "I'm too busy right. No comment." Even we know that!

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again. Digg! Digg!

Remember Neda: Where Are You NOW?

This is a very sad day and shame should brought upon this Administration. Yesterday, Iran was appointed to the Womens Rights Commission. Say what? It is true. The US did not utter a peep in protest, but the Iranian women have. I guess they are braver than Obama? I have lost all respect.

How can tell me that this man gives a damn when he has allowed this to occur? Where is NOW? Not a word. You think Iran is just like America? WATCH THIS VIDEO THEN.

Here is the link in case the video doesn't work.

I hope to God that someone comes to their senses and stops this nonsense. I want the UN gone. Destroyed as far as no more money from the USA (26%!) and no longer in existence. Dissolved is the word I was looking for.

Please remember the woman, Neda, who was gunned down by the Iranian govt just for asking for democracy. All she wanted was freedom. Something you seem to take for granted, and you pay no attention to others who have none. Liberty is God's plan. Marxism is the plan of evil men. Dictatorship is also evil. Please, raise up your voices in unity with the women in Iran!

I will NOT live under the orders of any other country than that of AMERICA. God bless her and Keep her.

Go to #iranelection and let them know you stand with them in spirit, since you cannot be there. Find out where there is going to be a protest in your area, and SHOW UP. This makes me very angry. The dinosaur media gave it maybe 2 seconds, while they gave those 16 words that President George W. Bush spoke TRUTHFULLY in his address to the nation months. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

I'm not saying they shouldn't have covered what Bush had said. Although I agree that he spoke he the truth, he certainly didn't have a very good way of standing up for whatever he said. But that's a-whole-nother story...

SWAT Called On Tea Partiers

What kind of stuff is this when they have to call some SWAT teams on peaceful people protesting against President Obama's policies, and some of those include allowing Iran to get nuclear weapons while giving up our own? Everything is upside down and inside out.

This video below was taken either today or yesterday, and a few people have it. I 'borrowed' it from HotAir.

Here is the link just in case the video does not work properly.

Here are some people who have also reported on this hypocracy:
The Dana Show: Illinois Sends Riot Police to Peaceful Protest in Quincy, Illinois.
The Fox Nation: SWAT Team Called on Tea Party.
Doug Powers at Michelle Malkin: Riot Police Called in to Protect Obama.
Gateway Pundit: Obama Sniper Teams Ordered to Rooftops To Quash Radical Tea Party Protest (Video).

Justice 1; Senate Boo Hiss

I've just read an article I received December 16, 2009, and it is powerful. There is so much corruption within our government on every level including the courts that this is a refreshing outcome. However it is a dire warning as to how far we have moved away from 'Justice for All'.

Here is the comment from Stephan Frank that came with this article:
Federal Judge Exposes Massive Conspiracy by Justice Department.
December 16, 2009, 07:05 PM

Yesterday a Federal judge threw the book at the U.S. Justice Department for corruption of the process, bullying defendants, forcing people to plead guilty to crimes they did not commit (happily one guilty plea has been thrown out and the second will shortly).

This is what the U.S.Justice Department did to a billionaire and other wealthy people--imagine how they would treat you and other middle class and poor people.

The words and thoughts of the Federal Judge says it all:

"Accusing prosecutors of a "shameful" campaign to intimidate witnesses and obtain unjustified convictions, a federal judge threw out high-profile criminal stock fraud charges against Broadcom Corp. co-founder Henry T. Nicholas III and the company's former chief financial officer."

"In remarks that followed two months of testimony, Carney cataloged what he called the government's misdeeds. He said the government's treatment of Samueli "was shameful and contrary to American values of decency and justice." The judge called him "a brilliant engineer and a man of incredible integrity."

"The judge said the government unreasonably demanded that Samueli submit to as many as 30 "grueling" interrogations, falsely stated and improperly leaked to the news media that he was not cooperating in the government's investigation, and improperly pressured Broadcom to terminate his employment.

In reviewing the case, the judge singled out the way the government handled two witnesses. He said Nancy Tullos, a former Broadcom vice president of human resources who refused to cooperate in the investigation, was fired from a new job after a prosecutor called her employer and disclosed allegations against her."

"The judge said the government also pressured former Broadcom general counsel David Dull to testify in a way that favored the prosecution." In plain terms: the government demanded he lie.

the judge may be one of the truly honest people in government: ""I'm sure there are going to be many people who are going to be critical of my decision . . . and argue that I'm being too hard on the government," the judge said. "I strongly disagree. I have a solemn obligation to hold the government to the Constitution. I'm doing nothing more and nothing less."

If they treat rich people like this, you know how they treat poor people.

Our Justice system from the local courthouse to the Federal courts are broken. This system works only if people are not aware of how corrupt government can be, and this story must be given to everybody.

We need total honesty in the judicial system, not just what judges or prosecutors want us to know.

What do you think? Who should go to jail--Nicholas or Eric Holder?
This is refreshing and frightening at the same time. To find out with absolute proof that our Attorney General is breaking the law and there's nothing we can do? I believe there is something we can do. Are you willing to join me in doing it?

Today the SCOTUS also ruled that the Cross at the cemetery of our WW Vets was to stand, but they sent it back to the same court that said the government could not sell it which is what they had settled on to begin with. This same court may be biased against Christians, so our fight is not over.

They are supposed to have the government sell the land to the VFW. Let us keep an eye on this case very closely.

Here are some words from a good friend who has been following this and is worried that many think this fight is over. Please read his take on this situation.

As far as the Senate goes, the Repukians caved on the Financial 'Stability' Reform Act, so they are now moving forward with Dodd's permanent bailout for Wall Street while we sit around without a job. Oh yeah, they're really looking out for the unemployed people, eh? Bastards.

Cap(Tax) and Trade (Tax)

While I like to do my own writing, this one is so well written that I don't think I have anything to add to it. So here it is:

Beginning with this post will be an overview of the Cap and Trade Bill or as
it is better known in more conservative circles, Crap and Tax Bill. The
Bill has passed the house, in the dark of night and right before a recess
which seems to be the norm for the leftist regime currently ruling Congress.

The Bill is being stalled in the Senate due to the so called Immigration
Reform Bill or as is better known in conservative circles, Buying Votes for
Democrats. The Bill is being presented to the American people as a Climate
Bill which is a way of hiding the fact that it is a TAX BILL, pure and
simple that will raise the cost to every man, woman and child in the US.

Today's post will take a look at some of the cost and the HIDDEN COST within
the bill. The administration is touting the bill as costing only a small
amount to each family but the true cost, just as with Health Care are well
concealed.

In future post we will look at the Bill section by section and hopefully
educated the uninformed on just how negatively this Bill will affect each
and every person in this country. Yes, the reading may be long at times and
a bit dry but it is important that we understand what is happening to
America and the results that it will have on our country.

Here is the article. It may be considered longer than some posts, but it is well worth your time if you care about saving our country. Thank you.

Hat tip: Ticker.

WE WILL REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!

Rep. Cohen Should Know Not To Sling Mud

Below I have reposted an article from a foundation which I follow, because they do such a fine job on giving Americans the other side of the story. They love this country, they are Americans, and they are concerned also. They watch very closely for us, and I recommend you follow them as well.
Congressman Should Know Better than to Compare Tea Party Attendees to Klansmen, Black Leader Says.

Washington, DC: Deneen Borelli, full-time fellow with the Project 21 black leadership network and frequent speaker at tea party rallies, says Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN)'s recent comparison of tea party rally participants to members of the Ku Klux Klan is baseless.

What's more, Project 21's Borelli notes, Cohen should know better, as he himself suffered similar charges during his last primary election campaign.

Borelli said: "Representative Cohen's comments seem to be the norm these days in the effort to dispatch anyone opposing the progressives' big-government agenda. The goal of partisans such as Cohen is obviously to demonize and discredit ordinary citizens - people who attend rallies, town hall meetings, make phone calls and visit their representatives with the simple, legitimate concern of wanting to preserve their liberty."

"The tea party movement is making a positive difference for the direction of our country in a manner that would make our Founding Fathers proud, and the derogatory comments targeting these freedom-loving citizens really only shames those hurling them," added Borelli. "And it is especially odd that Representative Cohen was the one hurling the mud this time. Two years ago, he suffered through an opponent publicly comparing him to a Klansman. He certainly must not have enjoyed that. Is Cohen that tone-deaf that he is willing to immediately turn around and use the same vitriol against others?"

Borelli continued: "Let's not forget that none of the racial allegations made against tea partiers the weekend of the Obamacare vote have yet been corroborated by video or audio. Representative Cleaver, who initially charged he was spat upon, has even begun to distance himself from his allegation."

While appearing on "The Young Turks" radio show on Sirius XM satellite radio April 1, Cohen said tea party rally participants "are, kind of, without robes and hoods" and "against any type of diversity." He later suggested the motivation behind the tea parties are not necessarily issues but "to be against Barack Obama and Rahm Emanuel and the different people." He additionally called the sight of people protesting on the U.S. Capitol grounds on the day of the Sunday Obamacare vote in the House of Representatives "a very sad scene on America." The interview can be viewed on at YouTube (or right here).

Cohen represents a majority-black congressional district in Memphis. In 2008, Nikki Tinker, a primary opponent, ran television ads that placed a photo of Cohen next to one of a Klansman. Tinker based the implication against Cohen on the fact that, as a member of the Center City Commission, Cohen once voted against exhuming the body of the late Confederate General (and KKK founder) Nathan Bedford Forrest from Forrest Park in Memphis.

Source: Project 21, established in 1992, is sponsored by the National Center for Public Policy Research (www.nationalcenter.org), a non-profit foundation established in 1982 and funded primarily from the gifts of over 100,000 recent individual donors.

So, we're not allowed to have our first amendment rights? Does anyone remember Cindy Sheehan? Why does that name sound so familiar to you? Could it possibly be because they had her on the news every chance they could? Was that not against a president? Could we then reflect and state with the same authority that what they did was unAmerican? No. We would not.

Why not? Because we are patriots who love this country, our country given to us by God Almighty, and we are not willing to stand by and watch as people with misguided values take her away and turn her into what many of our forefathers fled from centuries ago.

Only we do it peacefully. We are not organized for a reason, Congressman Cohen, so the Republican Party can keep their paws themselves. If they had any leadership to begin with, we would not be having this debate.

And yes, this is a debate. It is not a war. It is not a riot. How many windows were broken compared to WTO meeting in Seattle, Washington? NONE. We are not rabble rousers. We are Americans who want to be left alone by this (and all others) goverment. It is called Liberty, and it was granted to us by GOD, not man. So remember that the next time you try to write a bill that invades my Liberty...

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again. Digg! Digg!

U.S. looks forward to further progress on Coalition Support Fund payments

U.S. Embassy, Islamabad, Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (Feb. 26, 2010) – U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W. Patterson today said that the United States looks forward to working closely with the Government of Pakistan to reconcile its outstanding claims for 2009 Coalition Support Funds (CSF). She noted that just this week the United States made a payment of $349 million to Pakistan for all validated claims from 2008.

The Coalition Support Fund was established by the United States in 2001 to support allies for some of the legitimate costs they incur in the fight against extremist violence. Payments to Pakistan slowed recently because of the inability of Embassy personnel who process the payments to obtain Pakistani visas and/or visa extensions.

“Prime Minister Gilani’s offer to work with the United States to establish a transparent process on visas that will enable us to undertake the full range of activities to support our strong bilateral relationship including reimbursing legitimate and verifiable claims was a positive development,” Ambassador Patterson said. “We look forward to the creation of a visa mechanism that will enable U.S. officials to do our jobs without interference.”

Gates: Iran's nuke program a threat to Middle East

by Fred W. Baker III
American Forces Press Service

ANKARA, Turkey (Feb. 6, 2010) – Iran’s nuclear program continues to put security in the Middle East at risk despite international pressure to halt its efforts, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates said Saturday.

“Iran is in violation of the nuclear nonproliferation treaty, and I think there is a very great worry that if Iran … proceeds with this program unconstrained, there is a very real danger of proliferation here in the region that would make it even more unstable and more unsafe for everyone,” Gates said at a roundtable with traveling U.S. and Turkish press.

The secretary flew here yesterday after a meeting with other defense ministers in Istanbul. His comments come on the heels of a warning by U.S. National Security Advisor James L. Jones at a conference in Munich, where Jones called Iran’s nuclear program a global threat.

The secretary praised President Barack Obama’s diplomatic efforts toward Iran, saying he has never seen an administration reach out in as principled and comprehensive a way as the president has. But, Gates added, “the response has been quite disappointing.”

Gates said the United States has no objection to Iran having a nuclear program that complies with the nuclear nonproliferation treaty, but believes it is using its program to develop a nuclear weapon.

“They have done nothing to reassure the international community that they are prepared to comply with the NPT or stop their progress toward a nuclear weapon,” Gates said. “Therefore, I think that various nations need to think about whether the time has come for a different tack.”

The International Atomic Energy Agency had offered to exchange Iran’s lower-grade uranium for a higher grade that can be used for medical purposes. In the deal, Iran would turn over 1,200 kilograms of low-enriched uranium. Russia and France would enrich the uranium for use at a medical research reactor in Tehran.

Gates said Iran has rejected the offer, despite recent claims by Iranian officials that a deal is close to being reached.

“We had hoped that the Tehran research reactor proposal offered a way out of the current situation in a way that would be satisfactory to all the parties,” he said.

Gates called for tougher sanctions on the country if it does not comply with the terms of the agreement in an effort to bring Iran back to the negotiating table.

“Iran is the only country in the region that has publicly declared its intent to destroy another state in the region. This is not encouraging for a country that has a nuclear program, to say the least,” he said. “So I think there is a broad international agreement … to get Iran to stop this program.”

Turkey sits on Iran’s western border and is in a unique position to influence Iran, Gates said.

During his one-day stop here, Gates met with Turkish Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul to discuss the war in Afghanistan, NATO’s plans for a missile defense system and U.S.-Turkish military relations.

Gates said he did not press Turkish officials for more troops in Afghanistan. The secretary said he is impressed by the Turkish contributions so far. The country has about 1,700 troops in Afghanistan, with two provincial reconstruction teams and several mentoring teams.

Afghan ministers accept responsibility of Parwan detention facility

JTF 435

KABUL, Afghanistan (Jan. 10, 2009) – Afghan government officials signed a memorandum of understanding recently that will guide the process for the Ministry of Defense to take the lead on assuming responsibility for the newly-completed U.S. Detention Facility in Parwan.

As stated in the memorandum, signed Jan. 9. the Ministry of Defense will perform the custodial role and management functions for the transition of the detention facility. The Ministry of Defense will eventually transfer its role as custodian and manager of the facility to the Ministry of Justice, Central Prisons Directorate at a time to be determined by the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

The memo has the key ministries agreeing to identify and assign personnel to staff the facility, working alongside American personnel through the transition process. The Afghan National Army will train, equip and assign the bulk of necessary personnel for the guard force and headquarters staff, with the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Court, the Attorney General’s Office, the National Directorate of Security and the Ministry of Interior assigning key staff to support the facility.

Those signing the memo included Gen. Abdul Rahim Wardak, Minister of Defense, M. Ishaq Aloko, Attorney General; Abdul Malik Kamawi, General Chief Administrator of the Supreme Court; Dr. Mohammad Qasim Hashimzai, Deputy Minister of Justice, Qaseem Ludin of the High Office of Oversight, and representatives from the National Directorate of Security and Ministry of Interior.

Also on hand for the signing were Francis J. Ricciardone Jr., Deputy U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, Commander of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), and Vice Admiral Robert S. Harward, Commander of Joint Task Force 435.

Joint Task Force 435 was established by Secretary of Defense Robert Gates last September to assume responsibility for detention operations in Afghanistan, including the care and custody of detainees at the new detention facility, oversight of detainee review processes, programs for the peaceful reintegration of detainees into society, and coordination with other agencies and partners for the promotion of the rule of law in Afghanistan.

The commitment, according to Afghan and U.S. officials, also reinforces the Case Management System for Criminal Justice Institutions, agreed upon by Afghan ministries on Oct. 17, 2009, thus strengthening the rule of law in Afghanistan.

Dems Try To Steal Tea Party's Name!

Below is an email I received informing of the bad behavior displayed by a democrat in the state of Florida. He is trying to start a third party in OUR name! Do not be fooled. Please read it, reprint it, tell the world. THEY ARE NOT US! Thanks.

TPP Statement on Tea Party Political Party

Dear Fellow Tea Party Patriots,

There is much talk of the formation of a third political party based on the tea party movement. In Florida, a Democratic operative with absolutely no connection to the tea party movement has filed papers to form a third party called the Florida Tea Party. He has issued legal threats against local tea parties demanding that they cease using the name "Florida Tea Party."

Tea Party Patriots is issuing this statement in order to make it clear that we are not associated with this, or any attempts to form a third party. Additionally, we believe that such efforts are unproductive and unwise at this time. The history of third party movements in this country is one of division and defeat. We believe that it is instead time for all Americans to rise up and demand appropriate reform within their own parties. The mechanisms exist for citizens to participate in their parties, and to drive their parties in the right direction.

The Tea Party Patriots encourage all citizens to get involved in the party process, and to reshape their parties into something in which they may once again believe. This country does not belong to any one party, nor does it belong to the career politicians. This country belongs to the citizens. As Benjamin Franklin once said, "We have given you a republic madam, if you can keep it." The founders knew that it would be our sacred obligation as citizens to get involved, and to work hard to hold on to this great nation. We have much work to do, and future generations will look back in judgment. We hope you will join us in preserving the republic.

Tea Party Patriots, Inc. is a social welfare organization organized under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to Tea Party Patriots, Inc. are not deductible as charitable contributions for income tax purposes.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Founders' Daily Quote(s): 12/28/09-1/1/10

Monday, December 28, 2009.
"[W]hen the resolution of enslaving America was formed in Great Britain, the British Parliament was advised by an artful man, - who was governor of Pennsylvania, to disarm the people; that it was the best and most effectual way to enslave them; but that they should not do it openly, but weaken them, and let them sink gradually, by totally disusing and neglecting the militia." --George Mason, speech in the Virginia Ratifying Convention, 1788

THIS is how governments become tyrannies.

Tue. 12/29.
"[T]he people are not to be disarmed of their weapons. They are left in full possession of them." --Zacharia Johnson, speech in the Virginia Ratifying Convention, 1788

Must be some kind of right-wing nutcase, eh? Me too. ;)

Wed. 12/30.
"The whole of that Bill [of Rights] is a declaration of the right of the people at large or considered as individuals... [I]t establishes some rights of the individual as unalienable and which consequently, no majority has a right to deprive them of." --Albert Gallatin, letter to Alexander Addison, 1789

Thu. 12/31.
"Besides the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments, to which the people are attached and by which the militia officers are appointed, forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of." --James Madison, Federalist No. 46

Fri. January 1, 2010.
"If a well-regulated militia be the most natural defense of a free country, it ought certainly to be under the regulation and at the disposal of that body which is constituted the guardian of the national security. If standing armies are dangerous to liberty, an efficacious power over the militia in the same body ought, as far as possible, to take away the inducement and the pretext to such unfriendly institutions. If the federal government can command the aid of the militia in those emergencies which call for the military arm in support of the civil magistrate, it can the better dispense with the employment of a different kind of force. If it cannot avail itself of the former, it will be obliged to recur to the latter. To render an army unnecessary will be a more certain method of preventing its existence than a thousand prohibitions upon paper." --Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 29

Iran On Fire

First a little background, since the media seems not to know any. On the 17th of December is known in to Shia Muslims and Iran as the first day of the year and the month is Moharram. This is when they honor the grandchildren of Mohammad who was murdered. They do this many in many different ways, and you can read about that here. Ashura is a very important day in the Shia Muslim world. This is the 10th day of the month (Dec. 27th).

This year, the Green Movement in Iran has chosen this day to let the murderous regime know once again that they do not want to live under their tyranny. Many people appear to believe that the riots of June 2009 have stopped, they would be woefully wrong. Our media just stopped paying attention. SHAME ON YOU.

Now for the articles I have found for you.

Watch for the next wave of protests in Iran: December 27th. Planet Iran.

WASHINGTON, D.C (Upfront News) -- Statement on Iran:

'We strongly condemn the violent and unjust suppression of civilians in Iran seeking to exercise their universal rights. Hope and history are on the side of those who peacefully seek their universal rights, and so is the United States. Governing through fear and violence is never just, and as President Obama said in Oslo - it is telling when governments fear the aspirations of their own people more than the power of any other nation.'

Update V: Iranian protesters are dying for freedom – where is Barack Obama? Telegraph.co.uk.

Update: Great analysis from yesterday: Live-Blogging Ashura Protests in Iran by The Daily Nite Owl.

Update: This is a very good site full of information and opinion. Obama on vacation so Iranian civilian deaths, terrorist airplane attacks will just have to wait/Video.

Founders' Daily Quote(s): 12/14-18/09

Monday, December 14, 2009.
"Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States." --Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, 1787

Take THAT you silly Libs.

Tue. 12/15.
"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to Peter Carr, 1785

Wed. 12/16.
"One loves to possess arms, though they hope never to have occasion for them." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to George Washington, 1796

Thu. 12/17.
??? Who took my Daily Quote? Come on, give it up! *sigh*

Fri. 12/18.
"We established however some, although not all its [self-government] important principles. The constitutions of most of our States assert, that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which they think themselves competent, (as in electing their functionaries executive and legislative, and deciding by a jury of themselves, in all judiciary cases in which any fact is involved,) or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to John Cartwright, 1824
