Support Our Troops, Send a Letter!

As I was peeking at my Facebook, I came across Matt's wonderful suggestion. Yes, I thought to myself, I must have this! It is on my Facebook page and now I am writing it here for those who do not follow me on Facebook. *huh?* ;)

Hat tip: Matt at Blackfive.

'Thank You'

What a marvelous video! Thank a Soldier.net has a page on Facebook, and they made this video to thank us for our support. I don't need them to do this, because they are the ones who deserve our thanks, but now I catch a glimpse at how they feel.

Here is the link in case the video isn't working properly here.

YOU'RE WELCOME! {{{{Hugs and kisses}}}} :)

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again. Digg! Digg!

Happy Juneteenth!

Below is a wonderful message to all Americans, not your normal blame America hogwash. It is very beautiful, and you will see why I enjoy and love these brothers and sisters of Project 21 so dearly. I hope you are moved as well.

Juneteenth Civil Rights Holiday Observed With Future Freedom At Risk

Washington, D.C. - On the occasion of "Juneteenth" -- the oldest and most recognized annual commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States -- members of the Project 21 black leadership network assert the civil rights-themed holiday should be used to reflect on past struggles for freedom and how to expand and protect hard-won liberties and opportunities at a time when they may be on the wane.

Project 21 members have commemorated Juneteenth since 1999, urging black Americans to use the observance of Juneteenth to embrace their inherent talents and strengthen ties with family and community.

"Juneteenth is a time to reflect on where we as blacks have been and a time to conduct an azimuth check on where we are going," said Project 21 member R. Dozier Gray. "It is a time for reflection. It is a time for clarity. It is a time to count the ways in which we are free and to take measure of the chains that still bind us. It is a time to take stock of ourselves -- as men, as husbands, as women, as wives and sons and daughters. It is a time to plot a course to freedom from debt, immorality and lethargy. No one ever truly freed a man but himself, just as no one ever really enslaved a man but himself."

In the course of the past year, government spending and government control greatly expanded and the nation's economic well-being is now at risk. The passage of ObamaCare, which will result in the takeover of much of the nation's private health care system, and ongoing attempts to impose a "cap-and-trade" energy policy will lead to decreased liberty and increased oversight over and cost to the average American in the future. That makes this year's Juneteenth commemoration the most important in many years.

Project 21 fellow Deneen Borelli added: "Juneteenth is a special day for blacks to commemorate liberty. Liberty offers us the opportunity to use our talents to pursue happiness and success. With this in mind, we must seek self-reliance and rely on hard-work as a means to achievement -- avoiding government programs that create dependency."

Juneteenth commemorates the anniversary of the June 19, 1865 arrival of Union soldiers in Galveston, Texas. The soldiers carried the news that the Civil War was over and that President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation had abolished slavery two-and-a-half years earlier.

The annual commemoration became known as Juneteenth and quickly became a stabilizing as well as motivating presence in the lives of black Americans in Texas, who faced many uncertainties associated with newly-acquired freedom. The observance quickly spread from Texas to be recognized across the United States.

Juneteenth is celebrated in many ways, but education and self-improvement have been consistent themes at commemorative community gatherings and picnics in recent years. In 1980, Juneteenth was made an official holiday in Texas. Currently, 35 states recognize Juneteenth as a state holiday or observance.

Project 21, a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization sponsored by the National Center for Public Policy Research, has been a leading voice of the African-American community since 1992. For more information about the history of Project 21, visit the Project 21 website.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again. Digg! Digg!

In case you are unaware, there has been a horrific flood in Nashville, Tennessee. Has the president mentioned it? Has the media condemned him for not showing up there? Could it be because it is a red state? You decide.

The first video had here was removed by the person who put it up. Could be they ran into some copyright trouble. Anyway, this one is just a good (only there is no music). In case my computer won't work right for this video, here is the link to YouTube.

Thirty people dead at last count. How many have to die before the president decides it's a natural disaster? Oh, that's right. No muslims and it's a red state. How stupid of me to think Tennessee was a part of those 57 states.

Founders' Daily Quote(s): 11/23-27/09

Monday, November 23, 2009.
"It is a happy circumstance in human affairs that evils which are not cured in one way will cure themselves in some other." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to John Sinclair, 1791

Tue. 11/24.
"Wish not so much to live long as to live well." --Benjamin Franklin, Poor Richard's Almanack, 1746

Wed. 11/25.
"It is the duty of every man to render to the Creator such homage, and such only, as he believes to be acceptable to him. This duty is precedent both in order of time and degree of obligation, to the claims of Civil Society. Before any man can be considered as a member of Civil Society, he must be considered as a subject of the Governor of the Universe." --James Madison, A Memorial and Remonstrance, 1785

Thu. 11/26.
George Washington's 1789 Thanksgiving Proclamation.

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to "recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:"

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand, at the city of New York, the 3d day of October, A.D. 1789.

Fri. 11/27.
"[R]eligion, or the duty which we owe to our creator, and the manner of discharging it, can be directed only by reason and conviction, not by force or violence; and therefore all men are equally entitled to the free exercise of religion, according to the dictates of conscience; and this is the mutual duty of all to practice Christian forbearance, love, and charity towards each other." --Virginia Bill of Rights, Article 16, 1776

A Tribute To Our Heroes

While we are fighting the good fight against Congress and the president, we must never forget those who are far away from home fighting the good fight for our very lives. It is to them this tribute is sent.

Just in case the link goes wacky, you can watch it on YouTube.

Yes, they are my heroes. I pray they are yours as well. Have a blessed day.

Amazing Mercy And Grace

Today I received an e-mail from a very thoughtful young lady, Caroline, and she sent me this video. Do you realize there are truly Christians in Iran? Watch below.

Are you having a rough day? Things aren't going your way? Did you think to pray? Remember this. Many of our brothers and sisters are suffering even to the point of death without denouncing God Almighty, so we should be grateful for every blessing we have no matter how large or small. After all, a blessing is from God. God doesn't deal in junk.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

This July 4th, Give Thanks

Independence Day is a very special day to Americans. This is the day we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We have fireworks to remind us of "the bombs bursting in air" that allowed them to see our flag was still there. They had no idea if we were going to win, but they would rather die to remain free than to be enslaved or imprisoned by the British. That is amazing. How many of us are willing to give all for this noble quest today?

We are at war right now, no matter who tries to deny it. Our brave men and women are out there fighting for our very lives, and I think we ought to be very grateful to them. That is why I am asking you to read what a friend of mine e-mailed me.

She collects cards and gift packages for our troops all year long. It only takes a moment, and they deserve these cards and care packages. Please respond. Show our troops they are not forgotten. Thank you so very much.

Leona Lewis - Footprints In The Sand

This lady is not only beautiful, she has been gifted by God with a very sweet and tender voice. Please listen to her sing. When I first heard her, I knew I had to share her with you. I hope this edifies you today. ;)

This song is so true. I pray these words for every Servicemember who is in the line of fire and those who are not. Also, I would like to extend my prayer to those who've served before and never received the proper recognized. I remember you. I thank you for your service. Welcome home.

Remember - He is always there for you. All you have to do is reach out and ask for His Guidance, Love, Mercy, Grace, Forgiveness, Help, and whatever is your need. He is always Faithful. God bless you, and have a very blessed day.

Tip o' the hat: David L. Brown aka Blade Runner.

Merry Christmas To All

I would like to recognize those of us who are in distant lands, be they in war zones or right here at home in their own war zone. I pray for all of you God’s protection, love, grace, and mercy. Most of all, I thank you and I thank God. See, you are someone’s son, and Jesus Christ is God’s Son. He came into the world to save it, you are, in a way, honorably trying to protect the rest of us from the terrors of which we shall never understand nor truly appreciate. Thank you so much. Merry Christmas (or Happy Chanukkah) and have a much better new year.

If you’ve noticed I haven’t written since last Tuesday, it’s personal. I’ll be back in full force once the holidays are over. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

TV Ad To Honor Gov. Palin Will Air Nov. 17th

There are many of us that voted for John McCain soley because Governor Sarah Palin was on the ticket, and we do not like the way she was treated by the press, the talking heads, and some talk show hosts. Therefore we are going to say a special 'Thank you' through a special TV ad. Below is the press release from Our Country Deserves Better.

STATEMENT ON THANKSGIVING
AD CAMPAIGN HONORING
GOV. SARAH PALIN

SACRAMENTO -- The New York Times has reported on their Caucus Blog about an upcoming television ad campaign thanking and defending the honor and character of Governor Sarah Palin. The pro-Palin television ad campaign will air nationwide around the Thanksgiving Day holiday. (See the New York Times report here.)

The pro-Palin ad campaign is a project of the Our Country Deserves Better Committee which raised approximately $1.3 million during the general election to support the McCain/Palin ticket and oppose the Obama/Biden ticket.

The Our Country Deserves Better Committee will be filming the ad next Monday and had not planned to announce the new ad campaign until around the time of the film shoot or post-production of the ad. However, a reporter for the New York Times is on the committee's email list, and when she contacted the organization, we decided to cooperate with the Times.

The ad is being produced specifically to honor, thank and defend Gov. Sarah Palin in the wake of several unfavorable media reports which included criticism from anonymous sources.

The members and supporters of the Our Country Deserves Better Committee have been impressed with Gov. Palin's honor, candor and dignity during the recent presidential campaign. We applaud the way in which she has generally articulated her conservative viewpoints with an optimistic and hopeful style similar to President Ronald Reagan.

Further news releases and information about the upcoming ad campaign honoring Gov. Sarah Palin will follow in the days to come.

***************************

This is in appreciation for all she has endured and because we truly care about her. We want to thank her for everything and encourage her to stay fighting. I'm sure she doesn't need us to tell her to keep up the good fight, but sometimes it's nice to hear from someone other than yourself. I want her to run for President in the year 2012!

Sidenote: While I am a member of their mailing list, I did not post all of their ads here because I thought they should have been more on point as to what our message is, rather than to just attack Obama. It makes us look petty and takes away from the message.

After all, we did have a message. Ask anyone what it was, and they cannot tell you. I understand this is McCain's fault, but we should be more pro-active than negative. Yes, tell the truth that the media does not want to cover. Certainly. But don't forget why.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Imagine No More Soldiers...

It has been said that we are a free people, but is this so? All these yahoos who hoot and holler about our 'military complex' and demand that there are no more wars (as if we declared global jihad), yada, yada, yada. I have used your favorite song, Imagine. Let us see just how free we are...without our Military!

I am going to write an imaginary petition which supposedly came from our military. It is not real, because our Military is too brave, too honorable, too duty bound to write something like this. But I'm a civilian. I am not. *heh*

*****************************************

WHEREAS many Americans are under the impression that free speech means it is alright to put our National Security secrets in print for our enemies to read and endanger our lives on the battlefields and

WHEREAS a few Americans do not like having an armed military or citizenry, even though the 2nd Amendment guarantees these rights and

WHEREAS many Americans show no respect for the Armed Services members of any generation, and they are not taught the battles, the losses incurred by this country in the name of rescuing those who could not rescue themselves, and the good we have done and

WHEREAS many Americans do not even realize we are in a global war for our very existence by people who do not care if they die trying to kill YOU and

WHEREAS only 3% of America's youths are involved in the Armed Services and our institutions of higher education are against allowing the Armed Services to recruit young people while at the same time these indocrination centers are taking OUR tax dollars and

WHEREAS some Americans think what we are doing overseas is wrong, so they try to influence the world to hate us and wonder why they do when they are successful, yet most of the countries they worried about are now run by Conservatives and

WHEREAS all Americans should first care whether or not their next door neighbor is well fed and clothed before any imaginary 'world citizens' approve of them because it is easier to think you are liked than it is to look next door and find out you are not a good neighbor and

WHEREAS the American people have spoken and said they do not want us to complete our mission, the one you sent us out here to start in the first place and where some of our brothers and sisters have given their all

THEREFORE be it declared that we, the members of the Navy, the Marines, the Army, the Air Force, the National Guard, the Coast Guard, do hereby turn over all the responsibility of your safety and well being to each and everyone of you.

DO IT YOURSELVES. There is nothing to be afraid, right? We're not fear-mongering. There is nothing to fear. Just one favor, please. When the fit hits the shan, don't come crying to us. You know so much. Fix it yourselves.

When you figure out just how wrong you were, we will come back under one condition. That condition will be that you pick up your weapon and join us this time instead of running your mouths like water while in the comfort of your warm home, your food, and your beds. Deal?

*****************************************
Now I know they would never write something like that, because they love this country much more than some, and they honor their brothers and sisters in a way only they will ever know.

I just get tired of Americans bashing them, and I will not stop defending them as long as I am alive. With my final breath, I shall thank them for each and every day of freedom I have had BECAUSE of them, not in spite of them.

Happy Veterans' Day from the very bottom of my heart to my toes up to the highest hair on my head. Godspeed.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Funding improves Iraqi economy, infrastructure

by Travis Hayes
3rd Infantry Division Public Affairs

FOB ISKAN (July 3, 2008) — Coalition forces continue to help communities in Iraq shape the environment through project revitalization, grants, disarmament, demobilization and reintegration. Currently, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment's area of operation has 25 ongoing projects aimed at improving local economies and creating employment opportunities. Of those, 23 are enduring infrastructure projects totaling more than $2.5 million. The majority of the funding is through the government of Iraq Commanders Emergency Response Program.

Work continues, June 24, on a bridge in Khidr, which is one of the 25 ongoing projects in 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment’s area of operation."(Iraqi citizens) consistently come up to us, thanking us for the new buildings and school renovations that we've been working on," said Staff Sgt. Michael Combs, 3-7th Inf. Regt. engineer noncommissioned officer-in-charge. "It's great to see the smiles on the Iraqi people's faces after the completion of projects. Sheikhs tell us we've made the towns and cities here better than they ever were. It's been very fulfilling to be a part of this," said Combs.

The Abu Lukah Civil Service Corps, one of the many newly established programs, is expected to begin operation within the next week. The CSC is an outlet for Sons of Iraq (SoI) members to transition from manning checkpoints to developing skills that will enable them to work as skilled laborers. The Abu Lukah CSC will identify more than 100 military-aged males to be apprentices. They will spend a year developing skill sets ranging from welding to construction.

After a year of training and testing, each trainee will receive a start-up tool kit for his assigned skill. This program will develop Iraqi citizens into skilled laborers, which will allow them to compete in their local towns and cities for contracts and become self-sufficient.

A second initiative, which awards micro grants to qualified start-up and pre-existing business owners, is positively impacting local economies. Thirty-two micro grants have been awarded through CERP funds. "Once you achieve security, it's all about creating conditions for employment and economic growth, and this is what we're helping to do by jump-starting businesses and building town halls and civic centers," said 1st Lt. Allen Von Plinsky, 3-7th inf. Regt. engineer.

Project and bulk CERP funding and subsequent disbursement is managed by certified battalion project management teams. Trained project purchasing officers and pay agents are positioned down to the platoon level to maximize quality and control. [GOOD. It's about time!]

Leaders Offer Praise for Military Members on Nation’s Birthday

The commander-in-chief and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff both issued messages to service members, their families and the American people ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend. President Bush and Adm. Mike Mullen noted the valuable service provided by men and women in uniform now and throughout our history. “On this occasion, we pay special tribute to the men and women of our armed forces,” Bush said, “who have answered freedom’s call and defended the values that make America the greatest country on earth.”

He cited the courageous visionaries of two centuries ago for signing the Declaration of Independence. “Guided by ancient and eternal truths, our forefathers proclaimed to the world that liberty was the natural right of all mankind and in doing so began one of the greatest chapters in human history,” the president said. “On the Fourth of July, our country commemorates the great achievements of these heroes and reaffirms its unwavering confidence in the power of freedom.”

Mullen said examples are rare in U.S. history when the nation’s birthday has come at such a critical and dangerous time. “Al-Qaida has been beaten back in Iraq, but it is not defeated,” he said. “The Taliban still claws for power in Afghanistan. Extremists of all kinds all over the world still plot against us, our fellow citizens and our allies and friends. And yet you still serve,” he continued. “Still you sacrifice. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing,” he said, “thank you for your service and that of your families at this critical time. Thank you for the gift of freedom.”

Amen.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can.

Home Improvement Giants Offer Discounts to Military

This weekend would be a good time to start those home improvements you’ve been putting off. The world’s two largest home improvement retailers are giving military members and veterans a 10 percent discount on in-store purchases as part of the Fourth of July holiday. The discounts are available now and will last through the holiday weekend. It is the same program both retail giants put in place on other patriotic holidays – Veterans Day and Memorial Day.

The promotion is open to members of the National Guard and the Reserve. Individuals must present a valid military ID or other proof of service, such as a Veterans Administration card, discharge papers or other proof of military service. Lowe’s and Home Depot both are known for taking care of employees who also serve in the Guard or Reserve. Plus, they have active programs to hire military veterans.

A spokeswoman for Home Depot said recently the discount is a way to thank military members and veterans for their service to the nation. That service, she said, allows customers and employees of Home Depot to sleep safely in their beds at night.

The two retailers have a near lock on home improvement in America. Lowe’s was founded in 1946 and now has more than 1,550 stores in the U.S. and Canada. Home Depot first opened its doors in 1978 and now has more than 2,200 stores in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can.

URGENT: Operation Love From Home

Today is June 10, 2008. That means we only have 4 days left to reach our goal of 5000 'Thank you' cards for our Servicemembers in Afghanistan. Please send whatever you can, even if it's only one card. It will be greatly appreciated.

Here is some information:

4TH OF JULY CARD DRIVE
FOR DEPLOYED TROOPS
The Mission: To collect at least 5,000 "thank you" cards for troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The majority of the cards collected will go to a unit currently stationed in an extremely harsh and remote area of Afghanistan.

The Reason: Being away from home and living in harsh conditions with combat & constant danger is difficult ~ our troops need to know we have not forgotten them!!! Mail from home helps to keep our troops' morale strong, making a very real difference in their lives. It keeps them motivated and focused when they know we care about them!

The Address: Send your signed, unsealed thank-you cards to the following address:

Mrs. Kathy Orr
OPERATION: LOVE FROM HOME

P.O. Box 1660
Loganville GA 30052

ALL CARDS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN SATURDAY, JUNE 14, 2008
.
The Guidelines: Ø The cards can be handmade or store-bought. This is a great opportunity to get your Scout troop, school, church and other civic organizations involved in doing something to show support for our troops.
Ø Please do not write the date on your cards
Ø Please, no glitter on the cards. Because of the intended destination of the cards, nothing "shiny" should be sent for safety & security reasons.

*IMPORTANT: This is not a "dating service." Please do not send suggestive or otherwise inappropriate cards or materials. Please also refrain from making political statements of any nature. We will be reading and screening every card received to ensure that the above guidelines are adhered to. Remember: This is strictly to let the troops know that we love them, we are proud of them and that WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN them! If you have any questions, please contact us at LoveFromHome@Gmail.com or groups.yahoo.com/group/LoveFromHome.
If you would like to continue helping, you may by going to Operation Love From Home's homepage and on the sidebar press *Current Projects*.

I also have a link to an interview Kat had on the 104.7 The Fish FM, and here is the link: INTERVIEW. Please forgive me. It aired on the 5th of June, and I am just getting to it. Please don't punish our men and women because of my slowness. Show them that we really do care. After all, would you have bothered to read this far if you didn't care? If you didn't support them? ;)

Thank you for all that you do. May God have you in His favor today, and may He keep you out of harms way. Have a nice day.

It's all about attitude

Are you having a nice day today? Here in California the weather is beautiful. Some people could still be having a bad day. What is the difference between a good day and a bad day? Attitude. Everything revolves around how we CHOOSE to take in the information.

Let's say for a minute that I have just gotten a flat tire. That could be really bad, eh? Especially if I was in a hurry! Now what should I do? How should I feel? Angry? Frustrated? Hopeful? Or is there a different way still? I choose to believe that God has a purpose for everything. Was I going too fast, too much in a hurry to ignore God? (Figuratively, of course.)

Maybe I could spend some time reading my Bible while I wait for the tow truck or the handsome young prince to come along and change my tire for me! lol. Don't be silly. I can change my own tire, but I wouldn't stop someone whose desire was to help a lady in distress. ;)

I could kick the car, eh? But what would that get me? I'd probably hurt my foot and only get angrier. I could cuss the car, but is it going to Heaven or hell? No? It is an inanimate object, and it would look pretty stupid of me yelling at it. That won't help anything.

So we have discussed something that we have no control over. When we have no control over the situation, why get angry? There is no reason for it. The one thing that can happen negatively, however, is that you can make yourself physically ill. Things happen, get used to it.

What should I do if someone offers me a drink? AHA! I have control over this. I choose not to accept this offer politely. Why? I am an ex-alcoholic. I have been physically ill, because I could not stop and it was very depressing. I have chosen not to drink anymore. Remember, I said EX.

What does this have to do with my attitude? I don't ever want to be in a condition where I don't remember how I got to where I wake up! I don't ever want to be that ill again. My attitude is one of self-control.

Self-control is not an attitude? Oh yes it is! How? Hmm. I cannot have self-control if I did not have self will. Willingness is a gift from God. Sometimes we abuse it, sometimes we even forget that it is a gift. My attitude toward my gifts is what keeps me grateful. GRATITUDE is an option and an attitude! ;)

Did I disclose something that will exclude me from running for public office? No. This would be well known before too long. I'm a Conservative, so you can only imagine what the press will do to me. lol. This is peaches. Getting back to attitudes...

If you enjoy serenity, you will seek the good in each and every situation without hiding your head in the sand. Otherwise, you may be miserable. Either way, it is your choice. Happy chosing!

Freedom is not Free

How does one say, 'Thank you' when there are no words that convey the depths of gratitude they feel? Is it enough to live up to the responsibility that comes with freedom? Is it enough to 'Remember'? Is it enough to say, 'Thank you'? I truly don't know, but let me try.

All of you who came before us and fought to keep our country free, including those who fought to give us a free country, Thank you for all you have sacrificed. I pray your families and you receive all the grace and mercy there is, and God sure does have a lot! I pray we live up to your example, and we make sure totalitarianism, communism and fascism never take hold in this country. Soldier or citizen, may we fight against it and beat it down for posterity.

For the men and women of the Revolutionary War, thank you so for a country that is blessed by God, protected by men and women who understand the concept that 'Freedom is not Free', and we must be diligent in every aspect of our lives to keep the freedoms you have so richly blessed upon us. Thank you for the beautiful songs, the honorable Flag, your sacrifices, and your bravery.

For the men who fought in the wars after that up until the first world war, thank you for the lands so sweet and the lands so hard. The good with the bad, that is how I see these conquests. I am Indian, so I don't like to lose. We did, you won. It is done. Thank you for coming to your senses by recognizing that without us, you may not have won the Revolutionary War! Also, thank you for the recognition that we had a pretty good government system all set up for you. Yes, I thank you and your families for your sacrifices, especially those of you who cared for my people and kept your word.

There were many wars in between the time of the Revolutionary War and the first world war, that is why I lumped them all together. The conquest of New Orleans, the war with Mexico, Wounded Knee, the War of 1812, the Civil War, the war we had with the Muslims down Africa way (Jefferson), the Trail of Tears (I forgive you), when England burned down our White House, and many more. I'm not too up on our history. That is probably something I can do for you. After all you've done for us, it's the least I can do.

The First World War was awful. The way it ended was an opening for the Second World War, but you cannot trust those French people! For all of you who fought in that war, thank you for keeping us free. Thank you to the families who sacrificed so much, and thank you to the families that never were because their Daddy's died before they could have these families.

The Second World War was one I wished we'd never see again, but we are seeing it today. As brutal as before, our enemies have no conscience, and they want to take over the world to have their caliphate. I thank you for conquering Hitler. I thank you that we are not speaking German. I thank you that you stopped the genocide of the Jewish people, the Christians, the homosexuals, the mentally ill, and all the people they were experimenting on while they were alive.

America seems to have lost her way. Now we kill babies, experiment on them, watch filth on TV, and there are so many murders everyday that it doesn't even phase most people. They have become paralyzed by the news. I pray that we could gather our strength and knowledge from God and you so we can have a chance at winning our current war. Were your ROE so strict? Did you have to wait until they shot at you before you could shoot the enemy? No, I didn't think so. Thank you for not waiting!

With all that is wrong in the world, there is just as much if not more that is right in this world. For this, I am so very grateful to you. Our men and women of today are outstanding, but you already know that. These are the best of the best, the bravest of the brave, and they are humble. God, I love them all so dearly. I pray for their safety and their lives. I pray for their families, too. I just wish the media would appreciate that without them, they would NOT have a job. This is the miracle country, and it is all thanks to God and you. For this I remain in debt to you forever, a debt I cannot pay but I can be a better person because you have showed me how.

Thank you, be at peace this Memorial Day (Weekend, yeah, they made it a weekend so they could go shopping instead of studying history), and know that most Americans love you and thank you. You are the doorstop between freedom and tyranny. What an awesome person to be! For those of you who have gone to Heaven, may you rest in peace. May your loved ones be cared for by this country and her people for which you gave your life (or age caught up with you, I hope).

See, it is so hard to say, "Thank you", because one could go on and on and on and never have come up with the correct words, if there are any 'correct' words. I will end by saying this. Thank you for the freedom you have given us which was not free. We shall remain ever alibavigilant in order to endow upon our heirs that which you have bestowed upon us which was so costly. God bless you. God bless you.

Update: This is NOT a partisian article. When I wrote it, I was thinking only of our men and women who have served our country with honor and those who still are. There apparently have been some people who believe that McCain is not fit for the office of president because he comes from a long line of Naval Officers. So, let me see if I have this correct. People that go to Washington are claiming to do their duty by serving their district, but someone who has risked his life, spent 5 1/2 years as a POW did NOT serve our entire country? You people on the Left make me sick. Really.

Operation Love From Home ALERT

I need everyone to post about this. Kat is having her annual Fouth of July 'Thank you' card run, and she only has 500 cards so far. We can do better than this! She will be on the radio tomorrow at 2-3 pm EST at station AFB Radio with CJ CajunLady. Please tune in. The link to the station is America's Freedom Broadcast Radio. On the left-hand side there is a 'Listen now' button. Just click on it.

The link to this radio program is AFB Radio. The link to Kat's site is Operation Love From Home. The last day she can accept any UNSEALED 'Thank you' cards is June 14, 2008. Remember, they have to be read and mailed. They are read as a precaution. This is not a dating service, so don't send love cards please!

Kat has done so much for our troops, and all we have to do is mail her some "Thank you" cards. That's it. It's that simple. I'm sure you all know people who would like to contribute. Don't you remember those leftover cards you put in a drawer somewhere? Now you can use them! Not that I'm saying leftovers are okay but if that's all you have, please send them. Help us to help her reach 5000 cards. Help her to help our men and women in uniform. Show them that you still support them.

All 'Thank you' cards must be signed and UNSEALED. Mail these cards to:

Mrs. Kathy Orr
OPERATION: LOVE FROM HOME
P.O. Box 1660
Loganville, Georgia 30052

If you have any questions, please contact her at LoveFromHome AT Gmail DOT com. Her site is Operation Love From Home. If you listen to the radio program, you may notice that the deadline is June 7. She has extended it, so don't worry about being wrong. Thank you for all your support, and you may copy this if you like. ;)
