Happy Juneteenth!
Below is a wonderful message to all Americans, not your normal blame America hogwash. It is very beautiful, and you will see why I enjoy and love these brothers and sisters of Project 21 so dearly. I hope you are moved as well.
Washington, D.C. - On the occasion of "Juneteenth" -- the oldest and most recognized annual commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States -- members of the Project 21 black leadership network assert the civil rights-themed holiday should be used to reflect on past struggles for freedom and how to expand and protect hard-won liberties and opportunities at a time when they may be on the wane.
Project 21 members have commemorated Juneteenth since 1999, urging black Americans to use the observance of Juneteenth to embrace their inherent talents and strengthen ties with family and community.
"Juneteenth is a time to reflect on where we as blacks have been and a time to conduct an azimuth check on where we are going," said Project 21 member R. Dozier Gray. "It is a time for reflection. It is a time for clarity. It is a time to count the ways in which we are free and to take measure of the chains that still bind us. It is a time to take stock of ourselves -- as men, as husbands, as women, as wives and sons and daughters. It is a time to plot a course to freedom from debt, immorality and lethargy. No one ever truly freed a man but himself, just as no one ever really enslaved a man but himself."
In the course of the past year, government spending and government control greatly expanded and the nation's economic well-being is now at risk. The passage of ObamaCare, which will result in the takeover of much of the nation's private health care system, and ongoing attempts to impose a "cap-and-trade" energy policy will lead to decreased liberty and increased oversight over and cost to the average American in the future. That makes this year's Juneteenth commemoration the most important in many years.
Project 21 fellow Deneen Borelli added: "Juneteenth is a special day for blacks to commemorate liberty. Liberty offers us the opportunity to use our talents to pursue happiness and success. With this in mind, we must seek self-reliance and rely on hard-work as a means to achievement -- avoiding government programs that create dependency."
Juneteenth commemorates the anniversary of the June 19, 1865 arrival of Union soldiers in Galveston, Texas. The soldiers carried the news that the Civil War was over and that President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation had abolished slavery two-and-a-half years earlier.
The annual commemoration became known as Juneteenth and quickly became a stabilizing as well as motivating presence in the lives of black Americans in Texas, who faced many uncertainties associated with newly-acquired freedom. The observance quickly spread from Texas to be recognized across the United States.
Juneteenth is celebrated in many ways, but education and self-improvement have been consistent themes at commemorative community gatherings and picnics in recent years. In 1980, Juneteenth was made an official holiday in Texas. Currently, 35 states recognize Juneteenth as a state holiday or observance.

MEMORIAL DAY PRAYERS
Below is a familiar writing which we ought to remember more often, but I just wanted to add my 2 cents.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for all the miracles You have performed so far. I pray You continue to hear our prayers. Lift up our Servicepeople, hide them underneath Your wing, and help them to see the enemy before the enemy sees them. Grant them knowledge, understanding of that knowledge, and the wisdom to know what they can and cannot do with this knowledge.
LORD, I pray You keep all of them safe and whole: Spiritually, Physically, Emotionally and Mentally. Bring them home safe and help them to make the transition easier than the last time.
God, I thank You for caring so much for their loved ones left behind. Raise them up above all this dissent and any troubles they may face. I thank You for putting these great ideas into their heads so that we can also help our countrymen and women while they are so far from home. Lift up their wives, husbands, children, parents, friends and other loved ones. Keep them at Your Peace.
Help us all to remember that America is a unique country where we do not know war as the rest of the world does. It is a normal way of life for many, and I thank You that this is not the case here.
You have created for us a unique and beautiful country. You have also commanded us to take good care of it. LORD, there is an awful oil spill off the shore of the Gulf of Mexico. Please use Your Power to stop the spread of this oil from the wetlands, from the fish, from the birds, from the turtles and dolphins, all of which You have created.
I know the fault lies with us, but I beg You, O LORD, please seperate the oil from the land. You are Powerful and Wonderful, O LORD, You have created this land and the oceans, and You are able. Thank You.
I praise You for all the men and women who have come home safely. Please attend to those who need Your tender loving touch to readjust to home life. Yes, please attend to everyone! Especially the families who have missed them so much but had to manage everything without them. It is hard to readjust to having someone just walk in and take over, if they do.
You know the needs of everyone, and I pray they are all met. I do not want to forget our wounded warriors. Please comfort them and their families, friends and loved ones (if they're not married yet). Bless them and thank them for all of us who support and thank them for their sacrifices for protecting our God-given Liberty. Heal them, O my LORD. You are the One that can. Be their Physician, their therapist, and I pray they know You and You know them.
Answer their prayers as long as they don't pray to die. There is too much death. Help them to get over any guilt they are suffering. They did it for their families, for America, and me. God, please bless them forever and ever. In Jesus' precious name I pray. AMEN.

Happy Martin Luther King Jr Day
Today as the rain pours down in California, let us take some time to remember and celebrate one of our own. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. was a fascinating man to the millions of people, me included. It is a sad and cruel thing that he was assassinated in 1968, but let's look at all the good he did.He was a very articulate speaker. He spoke as he saw things, and he knew much about our constitution. This worried many white people as they were still ignorant to the fact that black people have minds just as great and creative as theirs. Many white people, however, understood this in a good way and stood up for him and believe in his speeches, his religious teachings, his approach of non-violence, and much more.
These white people were Christians. We must, however, understand that the KK used religion as al Qaida is doing today. I don't want to make this into anything political, but the truth must be told. Most KKK members were Democrats, while Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican.

Many things have changed since the time of his murder, so let us not dwell on which party did what. I do not believe he would have wanted it that way. I know he certainly would Not have wanted all of his brothers and sisters to flock to one party or the other. He would want us to think and speak for ourselves and also to dialogue with each other.
He was a great man in my mind, and America is a better country for having Martin Luther King Jr. amongst us. Even if it were only for short while. Thank you, Rev. King, for opening up all those doors. Thank you for your persistence and knowledge and kindness and belief that one day, we would be able to stand together-hand in hand-and praise God for such a beautiful country and all of our blessings. Thank you for all of this.
Thank you for braving that frontier. Your work has been very successful. We still have a way to go, however. Some of the people who were with you have forgotten or have become bitter because of your assassination. Please do not be too disappointed. They loved you and your message. Have mercy on them.
When they realize the truth, when the scales off their eyes, we can once again climb to the top of that mountain and reach out to touch the Hand of God together. Until that time, I shall do my best to help restore your dream, our dream. God bless you, and I pray you are resting peacefully with God.

'Tops' Tea Party!

This Independence Day we had another Tea Party, America's Freedom-Long Beach Tea Party, and it was the tops. I learned many thing from the April 15th Tea Party, and I tried to fix those mistakes. Well, on paper I did, but in really things just flowed smoothly even though I was disorganized. I forgot to plan for people not showing up on time.
The Tea Party was scheduled for Independence Day, 12-3pm at 130 Cherry Ave, Bixby Park, Long Beach, California 90802, and it lasted about 2 hours at its peak, 3 hours altogether. Here is the schedule of events as they really happened, not the one I had planned. Although it was pretty close.
It was marvelous to see 110 people come to our Tea Party in liberal Long Beach, California. Everyone was so thoughtful and helpful. Roxanna bought a helium pump for the balloons which worked perfectly. If you could have been there to see the expressions on the children's faces as we freely gave them balloons! No, they were not part of the Tea Party but being the Conservatives that we are, we love children. Of course we did ask their parents first if we could give them to their children. They were so happy.
Most of the people signed in this time, however many people came as the Tea Party was in progress. My brother counted 50, and 60 people signed in. They were energetic, patriotic, helpful in many ways, cheerful, and it was a very pleasant experience. They were also tired and fed-up with being overtaxed, paying for other people's bailouts, this enormous health care boondoggle which threatens our very good system and will make the fraud in Medicare and Medicaid look like chump-change. Yes, there was much to discuss.
We began with Barbee singing "God Bless America" and everyone joined in. It was beautiful. She has a delightful voice. Then we said the Pledge of Allegiance, and we even dared to use the words IN GOD. Oh my. Then the Declaration of Independence was read by a very nice gentleman (whose name I forgot to get). Then I read a few verses of the NIV version of the Bible with the theme being, "Healing Our Land": 2Co 4:8, 16, 17 and 2Ch 7:14. It was graciously accepted by all.
After that, we had quite a bit of time before our guest speaker was to arrive, so we kind of went off schedule. I'll try my best to recall the events as they occurred. There was a daughter, Jamie, who wanted to read something for her mother who was to speak after Jamie. What she read was awesome. It was "I Am The Nation" (I think that's the name of it). Excellent job, Jamie.
Then her mother, Jeanne, read "The Letter" written by a life-time Democrat turned Republican turned without a party. It is an open letter sent to our officials in all offices and the press. Glen Beck read it on the air (I do not get him on my radio), and Jeanne just had to read it. I don't blame her. It is quite remarkable letter, and you did an excellent job Jeanne.
At 1pm, we had our special guest speak. She is running for Superintendent of Schools and her name is Diane Lenning. She was remarkable. Her ancestry includes General and President of the United States George Washington. She is interested in changing the curriculum to include the true history of this great country. There were many things said, but I was impressed the most when so many answered her call to give homage to those who fought before and/or are still fighting so we could have this day. There were too many for me to keep track of while counting. I was so very proud of everyone there.
There was one young man who absolutely amazed me. He brought hope to everyone there. How did he do that? He is young, in college, well spoken, an American who happens to be black, yet people have called him a racist. Huh? Yes. This is because he believes the rule of law should apply to everyone equally or no one equally. So do I. He also believes in a free market system and wonders where are the supposed free market politicians? Twenty years old and smarter than some of the people I know. He just blew me away. So much, in fact, that I forgot to get his name of all things. I surely hope he signed in. At least I can find him through email.
On the subject of Americans who happen to be black being called racist. It occurs most of the time when it comes to illegal aliens. How is it fair that if you're here in our country illegally that the rule of law bends over backwards for you, yet does not give two hoots about her own citizens? Everyone at the Tea Party agreed. By the way, there were Democrats and Republicans there. This was truly a nonpartisan event.
Then the man who read the Declaration spoke about the Fair Tax. After him, many people spoke their minds. There were some very good ideas bantered about. It was a breath of fresh air to hear citizens and not politicians speak. They came up with simple ways to solve our economic, social, and spiritual problems.
Some of the policies promoted were as follows:

I am going to need much help, and this is to happen on July 17. So I do not have that much time to get ready! Especially since my next Tea Party is going to be September 12, 2009. All are welcome.

- 1. July 17th: Flood the 89 offices of the elected officials to let them know we do not want their health care insurance boondoggle.
- 2. Make our elected officials aware of the consequences of their cap-and-tax...er...trade will have on every community. This was brought home by our guest, Ken, from Detroit, who has had to move here while his wife stays in Detroit for 9 years because Chrysler closed. He made us aware that only Germans were allowed to work in the jobs that were lost to union workers, and they were not permitted to join a union. This is information we are not hearing from the press. Gee, I don't wonder why.
- 3. There was one person there, I'm sorry I did not get his name, who brought up the idea of the Fair Tax. I do not agree with this, but I allowed him to speak. After all, what if he's right? I certainly wouldn't disagree with shutting down the IRS!
- 4. Our very handsome College student wants more freedom of thought in the schools. He also wants fairness. It is not okay that Liberals can rewrite history and do whatever they want, but Conservatives are held back from telling the truth and doing as they please. He just wants EQUAL freedom.
- 5. This one is closest to my heart. This is the one which we all agreed. This day was available due to those who are in harms way to this day. We honored the Revolutionary War with their daughters and sons in attendance, we honored the War of 1812 with one of their descendants, we honored WWI with their descendants, we also honored WWII, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq with their descendants and loved ones.

America's Freedom-Long Beach Tea Party
I am having difficulty getting this message out, so I thought this would be a great place to do so. This is in California. There will be a couple of speakers, and I hope you will contact me to let me know you are coming. We'd love to see ya here.

If you happen to know anyone in a neighboring area or in Long Beach, California, please encourage them to share their Independence Day with us at our Tea Party. While we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence (which was actually on the 5th), we can reclaim our independence from this tyrannical government.
It doesn't matter to them anyway, no matter which party claims you, just as long as we show up on election day. Let's show them they are wrong. Let us proclaim it it loud and clear. They'd better start listening to us now or else.
Or else what? We'll put up our own candidates, that's what! Hit them where it will hurt them. Job insecurity. Over at Smart Girl Politics we are working on this very thing. They want our money? We want their jobs. Are you ready to join forces with us? Join this movement that is sweeping this great country. Join us. Remember, Live Free or Die!

This July 4th, Give Thanks
Independence Day is a very special day to Americans. This is the day we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We have fireworks to remind us of "the bombs bursting in air" that allowed them to see our flag was still there. They had no idea if we were going to win, but they would rather die to remain free than to be enslaved or imprisoned by the British. That is amazing. How many of us are willing to give all for this noble quest today?
We are at war right now, no matter who tries to deny it. Our brave men and women are out there fighting for our very lives, and I think we ought to be very grateful to them. That is why I am asking you to read what a friend of mine e-mailed me.
She collects cards and gift packages for our troops all year long. It only takes a moment, and they deserve these cards and care packages. Please respond. Show our troops they are not forgotten. Thank you so very much.

The Reason:
Being away from home, often living in harsh conditions with combat & constant danger is difficult ~ our troops need to know we have not forgotten them!!! Mail from home helps to keep our troops' morale strong, making a very real difference in their lives. It keeps them motivated and focused when they know we care about them!

Thoughts On Christmas Day
Today has been one of the most wonderful days of the year. My brother baked a birthday cake for Jesus the Christ, he put in a quilt-type blanket with santa claus pictures covering the bottom two sides with a circluar blanket of a wreath atop it. There were three candles, one for the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He made the cake into a Cross by using white frosting and Hershy's mini-chocolate bars. It came out beautifully! It was my Christmas present.
See, he believes people should live everyday as if it were Christmas. This has been a bone of contention between us ever since...well...forever. I love Christmas. I love the decorations, the smells, the big dinner, and oh yeah, Jesus.
That is why I am writing this. I was so caught up in tradition and 'my way' that Jesus, while always being my reason for the season, was almost never included in the planning for the day.
This year, we said prayers before we blew out the candles. This is the best Christmas yet!
Now I would like to confess some things. I have not been spending the time I ought in the Word. I am tired of having to somehow read all these e-mails I receive (NOT yours, George!) and then finding the time to rewrite them on my personal site. Why do I feel the obligation to do this? Because I am asked to by the sender.
I have lost myself and my ability to be able (allowed) to do my own researched on the issues that are important to me. I've never seen anyone else write about Indo-Pak peace talks. This is a big deal, but no one had the inclination to write about it. Why not? As I said in my analys, it would make President Bush look good, and we just can't have that, now can we. The press disgusts me.
(This was just one example on one topic of my writing skills.)
Anyway, I just wanted to share with you the way I used to write articles. Also I want to share with you the fact that I would like to get back to reading my Bible everyday. My bifoculs are finally here, so maybe now I can read easier. That would be wonderful! I would like to write about our current events in a more Christian based way. I hope that does not bother you. If it does, please just let me know. I can also write the same way the New York Times reporters write, but I know you are more interested in a higher standard than that! LOL.
I hope everyone had a very wonderful Christmas, and please remember why we celebrate this day. "For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son so that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life." This is what I pray for you, my readers.
For my Jewish readers, I pray for you a very Happy Chanukkah. For everyone, G-d bless you.

See, he believes people should live everyday as if it were Christmas. This has been a bone of contention between us ever since...well...forever. I love Christmas. I love the decorations, the smells, the big dinner, and oh yeah, Jesus.
That is why I am writing this. I was so caught up in tradition and 'my way' that Jesus, while always being my reason for the season, was almost never included in the planning for the day. This year, we said prayers before we blew out the candles. This is the best Christmas yet!
Now I would like to confess some things. I have not been spending the time I ought in the Word. I am tired of having to somehow read all these e-mails I receive (NOT yours, George!) and then finding the time to rewrite them on my personal site. Why do I feel the obligation to do this? Because I am asked to by the sender.
I have lost myself and my ability to be able (allowed) to do my own researched on the issues that are important to me. I've never seen anyone else write about Indo-Pak peace talks. This is a big deal, but no one had the inclination to write about it. Why not? As I said in my analys, it would make President Bush look good, and we just can't have that, now can we. The press disgusts me.
(This was just one example on one topic of my writing skills.)
Anyway, I just wanted to share with you the way I used to write articles. Also I want to share with you the fact that I would like to get back to reading my Bible everyday. My bifoculs are finally here, so maybe now I can read easier. That would be wonderful! I would like to write about our current events in a more Christian based way. I hope that does not bother you. If it does, please just let me know. I can also write the same way the New York Times reporters write, but I know you are more interested in a higher standard than that! LOL.
I hope everyone had a very wonderful Christmas, and please remember why we celebrate this day. "For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son so that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life." This is what I pray for you, my readers.
For my Jewish readers, I pray for you a very Happy Chanukkah. For everyone, G-d bless you.

Merry Christmas To All
I would like to recognize those of us who are in distant lands, be they in war zones or right here at home in their own war zone. I pray for all of you God’s protection, love, grace, and mercy. Most of all, I thank you and I thank God. See, you are someone’s son, and Jesus Christ is God’s Son. He came into the world to save it, you are, in a way, honorably trying to protect the rest of us from the terrors of which we shall never understand nor truly appreciate. Thank you so much. Merry Christmas (or Happy Chanukkah) and have a much better new year.

Thankful In Djibouti

CAMP LEMONIER, Djibouti, Dec 2, 2008 — Thanksgiving Day at Camp Lemonier offered personnel a feast, football and a visit from their leadership. Members of flag football teams began an annual tradition in the first ever Thanksgiving Day Djibouti Bowl, November 28, 2008.
The Marines, Air Force, Army and Navy organized teams consisting of members from their respective services and competed in games throughout the day to determine the Djibouti Bowl champions.
Rear Admiral Philip Greene, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa commander, did the coin toss in the first game between the Army and Marines. The Army won the toss and the games began. In the playoff games, the Marines held off the Army and the Air Force defeated the Navy. Before the championship game was played the camp took time to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast.
Admiral Greene spoke with the troops in the dining facility before the meal was served. He thanked PAE for the extravagant assortment of food and beautiful decorations then welcomed General William Kip Ward, commander of U.S. Africa Command, who flew in to spend the holiday with the members of the forward operating location of his command.
Recognizing that the troops were away from their families, Ward said, "This holiday finds us away from home on Thanksgiving Day. While the distance may preclude us from being with our extended family, there are many local opportunities available to partake in the wonderful military tradition of sharing and serving on this day with our friends and adopted military and civilian family overseas. It also provides a chance to gain a different perspective on things for which we are thankful."
He added, "I am very thankful for each of you - Sailors, Airmen, Marines, coast Guardsmen, civilians, Interagency teammates, contractors and family members. I am also thankful to our friends and partners for the hospitality and warm reception they have provided U.S. Africa Command as an organization. The work we do every day on the continent of Africa in concert with Department of State and our interagency, international, and nongovernmental teammates is making a difference for the good for all of us while building capacity and fostering peace and security for the nations of the region."
Ward proceeded to carve the turkey and began serving the troops their Thanksgiving meals.
Later that evening the Djibouti Bowl commenced with the Army defeating the Navy for third place and the Marines claiming victory after the Air Force as the first Djibouti Bowl champions.

Imagine No More Soldiers...
It has been said that we are a free people, but is this so? All these yahoos who hoot and holler about our 'military complex' and demand that there are no more wars (as if we declared global jihad), yada, yada, yada. I have used your favorite song, Imagine. Let us see just how free we are...without our Military!
I am going to write an imaginary petition which supposedly came from our military. It is not real, because our Military is too brave, too honorable, too duty bound to write something like this. But I'm a civilian. I am not. *heh*
WHEREAS many Americans are under the impression that free speech means it is alright to put our National Security secrets in print for our enemies to read and endanger our lives on the battlefields and
WHEREAS a few Americans do not like having an armed military or citizenry, even though the 2nd Amendment guarantees these rights and
WHEREAS many Americans show no respect for the Armed Services members of any generation, and they are not taught the battles, the losses incurred by this country in the name of rescuing those who could not rescue themselves, and the good we have done and
WHEREAS many Americans do not even realize we are in a global war for our very existence by people who do not care if they die trying to kill YOU and
WHEREAS only 3% of America's youths are involved in the Armed Services and our institutions of higher education are against allowing the Armed Services to recruit young people while at the same time these indocrination centers are taking OUR tax dollars and
WHEREAS some Americans think what we are doing overseas is wrong, so they try to influence the world to hate us and wonder why they do when they are successful, yet most of the countries they worried about are now run by Conservatives and
WHEREAS all Americans should first care whether or not their next door neighbor is well fed and clothed before any imaginary 'world citizens' approve of them because it is easier to think you are liked than it is to look next door and find out you are not a good neighbor and
WHEREAS the American people have spoken and said they do not want us to complete our mission, the one you sent us out here to start in the first place and where some of our brothers and sisters have given their all
THEREFORE be it declared that we, the members of the Navy, the Marines, the Army, the Air Force, the National Guard, the Coast Guard, do hereby turn over all the responsibility of your safety and well being to each and everyone of you.
DO IT YOURSELVES. There is nothing to be afraid, right? We're not fear-mongering. There is nothing to fear. Just one favor, please. When the fit hits the shan, don't come crying to us. You know so much. Fix it yourselves.
When you figure out just how wrong you were, we will come back under one condition. That condition will be that you pick up your weapon and join us this time instead of running your mouths like water while in the comfort of your warm home, your food, and your beds. Deal?
I just get tired of Americans bashing them, and I will not stop defending them as long as I am alive. With my final breath, I shall thank them for each and every day of freedom I have had BECAUSE of them, not in spite of them.
Happy Veterans' Day from the very bottom of my heart to my toes up to the highest hair on my head. Godspeed.

Open Trackback Holiday
I surely wish I could offer you some words of wisdom, but alas, I cannot. I am disgusted with both candidates for president, it's too hot, my brother is bugging me to watch a vampire movie with him (those are some of my favorite!), Jesse Helms has died and I'm upset about that because they are trying to portray him as evil just because he chose to stick to his principles, and the whole world is going insane. Other than that, I can't think of a word to say. ;)

Please accept Senator Jesse Helms into Heaven. Let him know that we miss him very much, and could You possibly send down 536 like him? In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.
