Walk for PKD (Polycistic Kidney Disease)

I've just that there is going to be a walk in San Francisco. For more information, please read below. Help a man who has been helping our troops through media means. He needs a live kidney donated so that he may live. Please consider donating.
Many of you may already know Mark Glaser. He's a columnist and freelance writer for Mediashift @ PBS.org.

Mark has written several prominent stories about the military and the milblogging community including Your Guide to Soldier Videos from Iraq, `War Tapes` Film Lets Soldiers Tell Their Stories from Iraq, and Milbloggers Upset with Restrictions, But Won`t Stop Blogging.

Over the years, Mark has raised money to help cure polycystic kidney disease (PKD), a hereditary disease that is one of the most common life-threatening genetic diseases, affecting 600,000 Americans and 12.5 million people worldwide.

Mark also has PKD, and he's currently in search of a live kidney donor.

There's a way you can help.

This year, there will be a Walk for PKD in San Francisco, happening a t Crissy Fields on Oct. 23 at 9 am. Mark will be walking and he's hoping you can join or help.

To keep up with Mark's search for a kidney, please visit him on Facebook.

You can also visit him on his personal PKD Foundation page.
My prayers are that someone who reads this will actually take the action necessary to find a match for Mark. God bless you.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Candidate Star Parker's Commentaries

This is one brilliant lady, and we are so fortunately to finally have someone who will represent us. She does many things in the private sector, and one of those things is writing commentaries.

Her latest commentary is Can Republicans win the Hispanic vote? I believe we can if we would just drop the color/ethnicity language. I know Star is trying to get us to see this, but it is so difficult since the Democrats use it as their tool when they have no ideas to discuss.

Here is a list of some of her past published articles.

Can Republicans win the Hispanic vote?
The simple path to Middle East peace.
Today's political mandate: Become American again.
A new, emerging black leadership.
Who is governing America?
Is it racist to criticize Greece?
The NAACP and abortion politics.
Defining the liberal versus conservative divide.
Two views in conflict.
Neil Cavuto interviews Star Parker.

I plan to volunteer for Star, and I am hopeful that everyone who attended our Long Beach Patriots Tea Parties will do the same. We must defeat Laura Richardson. She does not want to hear any one's voice on any topic. This is NOT what a Representative is honored to go to Washington DC for us to do.

A new voice. A new perspective. Many new ideas. Star Parker (CA-37) listens to us. Yes, I see good days ahead. We're almost at the end of the darkest tunnel in which I have ever lived. Will you help us, please? Have a blessed day.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again. Digg! Digg!

No Help For The South: RACISM

I've finally figured it out. Most (if not all) of these states have Republican Governors. This must be because Obama THINKS these states are all white! Not true! Needless to say, the press would only go that route if it were a Republican in the White House. Evidence? Katrina.

Am I serious? No. That's not I believe. I believe Obama is incompentent, not racist. At least as far as I know. This is a pushback against the so-called press. Why is it taking you so long to get on his 'ass' about not doing anything so that the marshes, the beaches, the fisheries, etc. are not destroyed?

This is much more of a disaster than Katrina was. This is going to affect the economy for decades, not to mention jobs, people, lost lives, lost businesses, lost wetlands, lost fish, lost dolphins, lost whales, lost beaches, lost tourism, and more. This is unacceptable.

Now that there's a second leak, will he act? Will you? You claim, as does he, that he has been on top of this before we talking heads. Oh really? I started at day one. When did he show up? THREE WEEKS LATER. Did you remark on that?

No, you did not remark on this. You always give him a pass. What are you, afraid? Bought? Or are you just prejudiced against Republicans? Prejudism is a horrible thing, and that is why we don't put up with it...no matter where it comes from. Even if it comes from you, the high-and-mighty so-called press.

THIS is what President George W. Bush was referring to when he coined the term 'soft bigotry of lower expectations'. Obama would not be president if only black people voted for him. Get over yourselves. We expect him to act just as well as any other American president, sparing a few.

GET WITH IT, WILL YA? Hey, maybe then people may actually watch you and read your papers?! Until then, you are worthless. Have a nice worthless life.

EDITOR'S NOTE: The people who claim to be all high-and-mighty and decide what is news are referred to as 'Media' while the people who actually write about what is actually happening are referred to as 'journalist'. You may know them as 'bloggers'.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again. Digg! Digg!

NRO: What Were You Thinking?

I've waited a few days to gather my thoughts because I could not believe you would allow such an article to be published. Especially at such a time as this when there are brave Iranians being murdered, imprisoned, raped, sprayed with gas, etc just because they want the same rights you enjoy and I thought you cherished.

Rights such as freedom of speech, freedom to be left alone from the government, the right to tell your government when you don't like what they're doing (redress), the right to believe God however you choose (if you so choose), the right to not be molested in your own your own home, the right to be safe within your own person, the right not to be imprisoned for bogus charges which you sometimes don't get for many months, the right to have your lawyer with you during the 20 minute trial, etc.

If you do cherish these things, then why in God's name did you publish this?

Open Letter to NRO.

Dear Ms. Lopez, Mr. Lowry... et al at the National Review magazine.

I came across this shameful piece by your contributor M. Krikorian on NRO Corner today. [Screen shot of the post]

I'm an Iranian activist living in Canada. Moved to this country in [...] as a political activist since I couldn't operate in Iran any more and for as long as I can remember, I have read the National Review's great material online (at least since 2000-2001). I've been pro-America, Pro-Bush, Pro-US Military, anti-Islam, anti-Iran's regime, and I'd like to say your articles on Iran were illuminating and full of hope at a time when we felt the whole world had left us in the darkness of the jail also known as Iran. But tonight, I am very troubled by this shameful post, especially this statement:
"So, terrible as it is, it's actually in our interest for the Iranian regime to hold on as long as possible, and crack down as brutally as it can, so as to radicalize (i.e., de-Islamize) as much of the population as possible."
How dare you? To hold on to power as long as possible so you get a kick out of it? It shows the ignorance and silliness of the author. It shows the level of naivete of the author and goes to show how little he might know about the Iranian society. As far as I am concerned, the religion of Islam is a dead one in Iran. Hordes of people leave Islam and turn to other sources of spirituality, ie Buddhism, Zoroastrianism and Christianity or Baha'i faiths. Is your ignorant author happy that the innocent Iranians are being murdered on a daily basis? Does he not understand that every single day this regime holds to power means a day closer to having a nuclear armed Iran on our hands? [Continue reading The Spirit Of Man: Open Letter To NRO.]
Worse is better? What the hell does he think they are doing, throwing a party? THEY ARE BEING TORTURED, ASSASSINATED, and worse. The Chinese tanks are now there. Would he care to watch another Tiananmen Square? Would that be better for the world?

I don't get it. Maybe you can explain it to me since I'm so stupid. You wouldn't answer Winston's emails. He is my friend, and he has many more. I would rethink your policy of silence and answer him with an apology. Happy New Year. Yeah right...

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again. Digg! Digg!

Update: There is another post out with a video today, October 5, 2009.
We lost eight more soldiers in a firefight. I learned about it while they were still fighting, but did not report the attack until just before the media broke the story the next day. Still unreported, to my knowledge, sources tell me that FOB Keating was destroyed and that troops were under siege for up to 24 hours before Air Force Pararescue got them out. (Subject to confirmation.)

The fighting will only intensify. We can beat these guys, but not under current conditions. We need more troops and more gear now. The enemy has massive home field advantages and we have not offset those advantages. [This is the e-mail, please read the post, "Two Firefights, One Video.

Citizen Journalists Wanted For Tea Parties

Hi everyone. Would you like a great opportunity to show off your writing skills? This online newspaper published my work back in April, so they'll publish just about anyone's. lol. Here are some details:
Hello fellow Patriot,

It’s Independence Day and The Voice magazine is seeking citizen journalists to help us report on the TEA Parties across the U.S.

You know the media is not going to cover these events like they should, or they'll spin the reports to suit their agenda. We pledge to get the truth out and to help inform, inspire and empower Americans from coast to coast to stand up, speak out, and take our country back!

You can read about it here: The Voice magazine is Seeking Citizen Journalists for TEA Party Coverage.

Please let us know if you're willing to report on the event in your city, and spread the word to others you know who are attending TEA Parties.

For the future of our country,

Melanie Madon
Managing Editor | THE VOICE
The Voice Magazine (e-mail).
Please think about it. It is a great thing to do for our cause.

A side note. PJTV is also looking for Citizen Journalists. They would like pictures, videos, reports, whatever details we can offer them. The link to sign-up to be Citizen Reporter at PJTV (new media TV) is right here to register. This is very fne organization. I do watch it often. Have a great Independence Day!

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

World News From Michael Yon

20 April 2009.
From Borneo Island
Thailand continues to simmer. Though the immediate violence appears to have abated, the divisions are deep. The problems are not over and appear to be growing.

Meanwhile, down in Borneo, I took this photo last evening.

This audio is of historical interest.

As always, every move in/on Iraq is subject to endless debate.

I’ll be out in the jungle today with indigenous Borneo people whose ancestors were headhunters. They still hunt with blowguns and poison darts. In other Borneo news, there were reports last week that scientists just located a previously undiscovered group of orangutans, numbering perhaps 2,000 members. Borneo is wild country.

24 April 2009
Greetings from Borneo,

I am with the British Army in Brunei going through a combat tracking course. The course goes 7 days/week for 21 days. This is day 5. Very good training so far, and plenty of sweat. This is great prep for Afghanistan.

I've got 30,000 copies of my book "Moment of Truth in Iraq." The inventory is in pristine condition and still packed in crates. I am considering having the books destroyed (expensive to store), but before they go to pulp they are going to auction. If you want 30,000 copies, please make your best offer. Shipping costs go to buyer and should be on order of $2,000 for just about anywhere in the U.S. For a particularly generous offer, I'll come by for a day of signing books. This can be a great way to help fund operations. Please send any offers to Rich at: Rich. Will soon post some dispatches about this excellent tracking course. Meanwhile, the torture issue is becoming worse by the day.

Keeping Track

Good Morning America,

The soldiers improve at tracking with each passing day. It's 0500 here in Borneo. Today we'll helicopter deep into the jungle for a tracking "mission" to test the new skills. Fingers are crossed that they'll pass the first test.

More when we return from the jungle. Until then, two more dispatches are up: MAYDAY and MYSTERIOUS PLACES.

Your Writer,

Michael

Update from Michael:
May 4, 2009.
Greetings from Borneo,

Would you know how to tell if someone left footprints at daytime vs. at nighttime?

Very Respectfully.

Update II.
May 5, 2009.
Day 16.
The sun is not yet up this Wednesday morning. The helicopter will soon take us deep into the jungle. After it roars away, we'll track our prey. This from yesterday.

Your Writer.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

I've Been Published!

It is true. I've been published. I wrote an after action report for my Tea Party, and a Christian online magazine, The Voice Magazine, published it on their magazine. They were one of the few that covered the Tea Parties. If you would care to read it, you may do so here.

If you would like to read about other Tea Parties, they covered them as well. They also have a gallery of photos. My photos are in the article below. Have a great day.

Dispatches From Michael Yon

Michael Yon is one of our best military correspondents, and I have several of his dispatches to share with you. During my so-called hiatus, Michael sure did pick up his pen. I'll share the e-mails with you as well. From here on, it is all Michael.

2/10/09.
Greetings,

The Afghanistan-Pakistan war increases in complexity with each passing year. Fighting will likely be more intense this year -- probably kicking off in earnest at around April or so -- than ever before. It's dangerous to try to predict the course of a war, though my guess is that 2010 will see even greater fighting than 2009. By Fall of 2010, we likely will know if our new President has gotten hold of this tiger.

Please click for the latest dispatch. How Much is Afghanistan Really Worth to Us?

The good news is that Iraq just keeps doing better and better. Truly an amazing turnaround.

2/11/09.
Greetings,

This information can save your life. (The Eagle Went over the Mountain.) The enemy already knows the tactics they are using, but likely not all NATO/ISAF forces are aware.

Any enemy that repeatedly attacks U.S. Marines deserves at least grudging respect. The Marines respect this enemy, and that's saying a lot. Too bad the Marines have to kill so many of these guys; many would probably make good police or soldiers if they were not in cahoots with the enemy.

21 February 2009.

About 10 years ago, I read a PhD. dissertation by Army psychologist Major Jeffrey Stolrow. The selection and training of special operations soldiers is difficult and expensive. Probably at no time do we have enough special operations forces in uniform, and Dr. Stolrow's study was part of an effort to more efficiently identify recruits with a high probability to complete selection courses. Ideally, 100% of those who pass screening would become special operations soldiers, but the failure rates continue to remain high. I recall Dr. Stolrow explaining over the phone that there seemed to chemical markers in the blood that could indicate higher potential for success during selection, and that these markers were related to stress and the ability to stay calm or quickly bounce back after high-stress situations.

But ultimately it would seem that selection is as much art as science. The Special Forces soldiers I have known tend to be nothing like what is portrayed in the movies. Typically, even other Special Forces, and special operations soldiers, would have difficulty picking their own brethren out of a crowd. They almost never "look the part."

Please see "Ultimate Stress Test: Special Forces Training."

2/24/09.
President Barack Obama has spoken tonight: "The United States of America Does Not Torture." According to the President, we have stopped torturing prisoners.

What do you think?

This is what I think.

3/2/09.
Greetings,

My few words on torture created an uproar. Am in the process of writing more on the topic. Those who propose that the United States should use wholesale torture are clueless about the realities we face, and in fact their words make them out to be no better than our enemies. Many people seem to believe that by using torture we prove we are tough. Some would disagree. Our enemies use torture yet we stack their bodies high.

Meanwhile, my guess is that friendly casualties in Afghanistan during 2009 will likely double what we saw during 2008. I plan to spend about six months there this year, and to go to Iraq, in order to bring back the good, the bad and the ugly, untainted by the politics that surrounds topics such as torture.

A small dispatch awaits. This one is interesting, "Tactical Success, Strategic Defeat."

3/4/09.
The reports I'm getting from Iraq are mostly good, except those reports from the North where the savages are clinging on. We are losing good soldiers up there, though Iraq in general has fallen relatively quiet. I'll try to get to Mosul and tell some soldiers' stories. With as much time as I spend in that place, I should buy an apartment.

It's going to be a long year in Afghanistan. Not looking forward to more hearing loss that's bound to occur. You can't always wear earplugs, and you never know when a rifle will start firing next to your head.

Gordon Brown is delivering an outstanding address to our Congress. If you didn't get to see it, you might want to read a transcript.

The words I've written on torture have spurred such an outcry that it seems important to pause and clarify.

Please read: TORTURE: Some Thoughts.

3/5/09.
Big media has caught on with the situation in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, now 2009, they have only caught up to 2006. This year will likely be far more brutal than we have ever seen. At the going rate, my guess is that the Coalition will begin to fall apart by about 2011. The Canadians are wobbling and getting a standing count. They'll likely be TKO by 2011. The British are hanging tough.

Godspeed to General Petraeus and our people. I will be there. On Afghanistan.

3/6/09.
Greetings,

The debate on torture is starting to simmer and is heading to a boil. The CIA is in the cross hairs and is reported to have destroyed nearly 100 videos of interrogations.

Many torture supporters apparently do not recognize the dark irony. The irony that even the perception that torture occured is coming back like a razor-sharp boomerang.

Please read and comment. Dark Times.

President Obama has some words on War and Rendition.

I'll return to the United States next week and prepare my gear for a long journey back into war. The truth in Afghanistan is quickly becoming as politically muddled as we saw in Iraq. I'll do my best to keep 'em straight.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Am heading to Singapore for some research on al Qaeda, then back to he U.S. for a short trip. Writing is 95% homework and fieldwork.

Please see my latest piece in Townhall Magazine. (Victory in Iraq - Next Stop, Afghanistan.)

At the current rate, we are unlikely to ever get out of Afghanistan with anything resembling success. After more than 7 years at war there, the Afghan Army is reported to have only a single battalion (far less than a thousand soldiers) who can operate independently. Incredible.

Meanwhile, Iraq is Obama's to lose. Will keeping his misinformed campaign promises result in a new Iraq war?

Please read and comment, "The Pathetic Afghan Army & Will Obama Fumble Iraq?"

Update: This is an e-mail Michael received from Colonel Bill Hix to set the record straight (as he sees it). Cln Hix believes the ANA and ANP are doing better than Michael and others do. Read it here as Afghan Army.

Michael Yon: Update in Afghanistan

Michal is not able to use his computer at the moment, but he did relay this information over the phone to someone who e-mailed this tidbit to his subscribers of which I am one.

Michael has no internet but called on the sat phone.
British 2 Para in Helmand provence have been repeatedly and successfully closing with and engaging the Taliban. In ongoing operations today a number of British paratroopers lured Taliban into an attack. British forces responded with machine guns, small arms, shoulder fired rockets, mortars, and a 500 lb bomb. Locals say "Many Taliban dead."

Neither Francis nor I shall be silenced by the media

Alright. So I said I would no longer use emails as posts. This is one email that I believe you will be interested in reading. Francis is a woman who I contacted in some research. She did not seek me out. That means I receive her emails because I want to.

Francis is very well educated woman who is very kind and very generous with her wisdom and time. She answered all of my questions, and she did not feel put upon. Not like most people in her position. She even answered my emails in a timely fashion! I find this amazing, since most busy people send out 'form letters', so to speak.

The media is Sarasota, Florida (I think) is trying to disgrace and humiliate her. I WILL NOT STAND BY AND ALLOW THIS MEDIA ATROCITY. Don't pick on my friends. You never know what kind of horse manure you have just stepped in!
PRESS RELEASE

For information contact: Frances Rice at 1-866-905-6701.
As one pundit said: "Dogs don't bark at parked cars". A New York Times Company newspaper, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune (SHT), has struck again and published a second a hit piece on me, this time with our grassroots organization, the National Black Republican Association (NBRA) also in the crosshairs.

The first time the SHT attacked me was during the 2004 election. SHT editors worked in concert with the MoveOn.org crowd, operatives for the John Kerry for president campaign and leaders of the Sarasota County Democratic Party to deny me my freedom of speech and have my name removed from the "Vote in Honor of a Vet" program instituted by the Sarasota Supervisor of Elections. An investigation by the Sarasota Veterans Commissions concluded on August 3, 2004 that my freedom of speech had been denied due to "pressure placed on the Supervisor of Elections by the Herald-Tribune and others with a stated political agenda" when my statement in response to a question on the application to participate in the program was removed. The question was: "Why do you think it is important for young people to register to vote?" My response was: "The future of our country depends upon our young people being involved politically as well-informed voters. Our youth must be prepared to evaluate candidates by the content of their policies, not merely the label of their party. This is the only way we can be assured that all of our future elected leaders will embody the values that have made this nation great – lower taxes, limited government, strong national defense, faith in God, and equal opportunities for all."

In this most recent assault on me by the SHT, the reporters had the temerity to demonstrate that the real motivation for trying to denigrate me and the NBRA is a fear that our efforts will "foil the nomination of the first black presidential candidate, Barack Obama…" By their fawning coverage of Obama, the liberal press is functioning as a de facto 527 organization for Obama.

The SHT was so intent on trashing me and the NBRA that they did not even bother to get the basic facts straight. For instance, the SHT wrote that our "Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican" billboard in South Carolina was put up in 2006. In fact, our first MLK billboard was put up in Orangeburg, South Carolina on March 20, 2008. The SHT wrote that the Palm Beach County Republican Party donated $20,000 to the NBRA. In fact, the Palm Beach County Republican Party has donated no money to the NBRA. The SHT wrote that the initial NBRA board was only eight members and that all board members, except three of us, resigned. In fact, there were 13 initial, interim board members, and only six resigned for a variety of reasons, including one who resigned due to family problems. The SHT depicts the NBRA as being operated with no support and no respect for differing opinions. In fact, our Executive Committee, in recognition of the differences of opinions of our NBRA leaders around the country, established our NBRA State Delegate program that provides autonomy for our 53-member grassroots board of advisors. All of the NBRA State Delegates are listed on our website and participate in teleconferences with our Executive Committee. We have over 18,000 E-mail addresses of our members, donors and supporters in our E-mail data base who receive our E-Newsletter and provide daily feedback on our educational campaign. The SHT could not even get my height correct. I am 5 feet 6 inches tall, not "just over 5 feet tall."

In a sad attempt to cast our grassroots effort as somehow "illegal", the newspaper failed to mention that our application to the IRS included a clear statement of our intent to provide educational materials for economic and political empowerment of the people in our community. The IRS approved our request and granted 501(c) (4) status to the NBRA as a political educational organization that, according to IRS rules, may advocate "a particular position or point of view." A 2007 decision by the US Supreme Court has affirmed that groups, such as the NBRA, have the right to exercise our freedom of speech (see docket number 06-969).

Our fundraising efforts have followed two tracks. From our beginning in 2005 until today, we have raised money for the NBRA with direct appeals to our supporters. This effort led to our obtaining over 1,000 NBRA members from 2005 until 2007. Since the start of our MLK billboard campaign in Mach 2008, we have increased our membership to over 2,500. Our donor and member lists are maintained separately.

In 2006, we began raising money for our affiliated 527 with the idea in mind of assisting black Republicans with getting elected to political office. We engaged the services of BMW Direct, but that fundraising effort proved to be more expensive and less productive than we had believed, so we terminated that fundraising campaign.

Donations directly to the NBRA have been used wisely to accomplish the following in just three years. We sponsored two Grassroots Campaign Training sessions conducted by professional trainers, one in Orlando, Florida and one in Washington, DC. We were co-sponsors of three CPAC Conferences in DC, the largest gathering of conservatives in the nation. This is the first time that any black Republican organization has been CPAC co-sponsors and helped to set the national agenda for the conservative movement. We hosted two Awards Banquets where we paid homage to our grassroots activists who toil in the political trenches with little or no recognition. We published four editions of our magazine, The Black Republican, and distributed the magazines to average black Americans around the country. Our magazine includes not only facts about the history of civil rights, but also practical advice on how to become economically successful. We have produced and aired multiple video and radio ads designed to enlighten our fellow community members about issues of importance to black Americans so that they may make informed choices when they go to the polls to vote. We maintain our website that is proving to be very popular. For instance, in 2006, we received over one million hits on our website. In 2007, we again received over one million hits on our website. In just the first six months of 2008 alone, we have had nearly two million hits on our website. Our forthcoming Annual Black Republican Forum in New York City will address the issues that affect the lives of average black Americans and will be televised around the country. Not bad for an all-volunteer, three-year old grassroots group.

Incredibly, in the same article, the SHT presented two contradictory positions by two professors about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who was a Republican as was affirmed by his niece, Dr. Alveda C. King, in an article and a video that are posted on our website home page.

The question becomes, if the NBRA is so ineffective, why did the SHT spend so much time and effort to destroy us? "Dogs do not bark at parked cars."

Oh, by the way, my mother said to tell everyone hello, and she is still a Republican. She also sent us another donation and encourages all of our supporters to donate to the NBRA!

I have added this particular post that deals with the docket number 06-969. I looked it up, because I was curious as to what it was. It is that case in Wisconsin in which a pro-life group wanted to use their ads, but of course the ACLU and the Democrats did not want the truth to come out about them. THAT IS MY OPINION. It just happens to also be the truth. ;)

Francis also has her own site called BLACK REPUBLICAN. I suggest you read it if would like to learn a little bit our history. You may be shocked. You may be thrilled. If nothing else, you will be educated. Which is always a good thing. ;)

PS. I am having an open trackback today over at Rosemary's News and Ideas. I would prefer it if you would trackback over there, but if you really don't feel like going over there you may trackback here. Just remember to link this post to your site first. Thanks.

WSJ: Escape From Iran vs Batebi Is Free!

I'm pretty sure I'm not the first one to write about Ahmad Batebi's escape to freedom back on July 6, 2008, but it's nice to see the 'almost' dinasuar media catching up to us. This is in regard to the article in the Wall Street Journal titled, 'Escape From Iran'.

I sure do wish they would tell us something we don't already know, since they have all these sources and so much money to spend to gather information. I know I shouldn't complain since they finally wrote SOMETHING, but it just seems they could know a lot more than I do. Oh well. Maybe some day...

You may find the article they wrote here and my article here. I will let you be the judge on who did the better reporting.

Really great reading

My friend has written another wonderful post with videos and links included. He named it: Quick Update, but don't let the title fool ya. There is some of everything included in this post, including Major Stone Cold is being promoted to Lieutenant Colonel! Yup, good stuff. 'O' is receiving the Bronze Star Medal with Valor, as well as LTC Stone Cold! He is going to try to get them to write their stories, and he thinks by keeping their anonymity it may help. They are humble dudes. My goodness, they can go out and protect our lives, but they aren't able to take credit for it? Yes. They think they are just doing what anyone else would have done. If only they knew people other than those they've had to live with for the past 18 months! But that's just kind of guys they are. God bless them all. Now get over there and read this post! Please. And please leave him a comment. Let him know there are people here at home that still care about him and what he has to say. Thank you very much. Good night.

A New Post

Remember when I informed you that 'my' Soldier was home? Then I told you that he emailed me to tell me he would have a post up soon? Well, it's here, and it was worth waiting for! First Conop To Bagram; Meeting LTC SFowski. It is quite long and informative, but it does not cross any security barriers.

He writes so eloquently and it just brings me into the scenery, the smells, the fields, the tension, the eeriness. Maybe this is why I felt more close to this Soldier? Whichever the reason, this is a very fine post, and I highly recommend it to people who have never served. It may give you a small sense of what our brave men are doing for us. I also recommend it for our brave men and women. They will be able to relate to him, and I would very much appreciate it if you would give him some words of encouragement. Thank you, and have a nice day!
