Tea Party Patriots: Onward March in Remembrance of Andrew Breitbart

Today is a very sad day because of America's loss of Andrew Breitbart, but he would encourage us to move forward most enthusiastically. For those who have been on the sidelines, it's okay. Pick up your banners and join us so we can finally bring our country to its constitionally limitted authority.

Andrew Breitbart was born in 1969, he leaves behind a very charming wife and four children. He was 43 years old. This is tragic.

I would like an autopsy so we can know possitively that no jihadi can claim responsibility for Andrew's demise, because he put his life on the line for ALL Americans. It is true that his life was in danger for us.

Now it appears the only way to pay tribute to our well respected and tirelessly working friend is to pick up where he left off so what he started was not in vain. I accept this challenge. I am back.

Please contact me if you can help in any way toward our next Tea Party (Long Beach Patriots) on April 15, 2012.

Lastly but NOT leastly. Please pray for Andrew's family, friends, and other loved ones. Please send them words of encouragement. If anyone feels the need to send them angry, obscene words, please remember that God is watching you. I do not have to because God will take care of this family and He will also deal with you. So please stay away if you do not want to be encouraging. Thank you.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Police Quash Tiananmen Memorials

Reported by Radio Free Asia.

China blocks efforts to commemorate the 1989 massacre in Beijing of pro-democracy demonstrators.

HONG KONG—Attempts to stage public events and protests commemorating the 21st anniversary of the military crackdown on the 1989 student-led pro-democracy movement in Beijing's Tiananmen Square have been largely thwarted by Chinese authorities, activists said.

"The Chinese government continues to refuse to openly and truthfully address the events of June 4, 1989, and persists in its efforts to silence Chinese citizens who seek to commemorate the massacre," the nongovernment network Chinese Human Rights Defenders (CHRD) said.

Activists using the microblogging service Twitter said a planned commemorative event on the campus of Beijing University, one of the centers of the student movement two decades ago, had failed owing to the presence of large numbers of state security police.

"I am at the Beijing University campus," tweeted user PKUbuzheteng Thursday. "Looking at the current situation, it seems that the protest event hasn't been able to proceed."

Twitter users had called on netizens to arrive wearing the mourning color white at the university campus on June 3 to mark the night of the beginning of the advance on the student headquarters by the People's Liberation Army.

"It seems that they have stationed one national security policeman at the gate, with others walking around the place in all directions," PUKbuzheteng wrote.

'Scuffles,' detentions reported.

And Twitter user freemoren reported "scuffles between police and bystanders" outside the Great Hall of the People and numerous government departments, including the ruling Communist Party's powerful central propaganda department.

Police in Beijing detained six artists ahead of the anniversary as they staged public memorial events for the crackdown outside the capital's Museum of Fine Arts, including a sit-in and a signature campaign, artist Zhu Yanguang said.

Earlier this week, a cartoon entered for a competition which depicted a child drawing a line of tanks stopped by a single person at the Southern Metropolis Daily newspaper was removed from the paper's Web site.

"We decided pro-actively to remove the cartoon as it was being maliciously misread and misunderstood by some people, leading to a negative influence," an employee at the newspaper said.

"There was no question of being put under pressure."

But Beijing-based dissident Jiang Qisheng said the government had been obsessive about suppressing any mention of the crackdown for 20 years.

"I see the event as the massacre of poor people by an army, but the government thinks that it was right and proper to kill them," Jiang said.

"But it still won't come out and admit it."

Hong Kong criticized.

Accusing police across China of "harassing and intimidating activists against speaking out as June 4 approaches", CHRD said that at least four Beijing-based individuals are still serving jail sentences for their participation in the 1989 protests.

It added that a further three activists had been sent to labor camp last year for their attempts to mark the 20th anniversary of the crackdown, which officials refuse to discuss openly, and which left hundreds, perhaps thousands, dead and an unknown number injured.

It slammed the seizure by Hong Kong police of two replicas of the 1989 Goddess of Democracy statue ahead of memorial events, which have taken place in the territory every year, calling it "an unprecedented act of interference with the territory’s commemorative activities."

Hong Kong activists were in uproar on forums and microblogging services after the territory's Chinese University of Hong Kong refused to allow a sculpture of the Goddess to be displayed on campus, citing a need for political neutrality.

They called on people attending Saturday's memorial service in Victoria Park to carry the statue to the campus in protest after the event was ended.

Hong Kong Democratic legislator James To also hit out at the government's deportation of New Zealand national Chen Weiming, who sculpted the statue.

"The government is obviously playing dirty tricks and this must be condemned," To told local media. "I think it is playing dirty tricks."

"[I] believe that all the government has done is to suppress the June 4 remembrance activity ... I think the government is to be condemned," he said.

Hong Kong Security Secretary Ambrose Lee denied the charges, saying that the immigration authorities had acted fully in compliance with the law.

He said police had already returned the confiscated statues to the memorial organizers, the Hong Kong Alliance for the Support of Patriotic and Democratic Movement in China.

Activists watched.

Meanwhile, dozens of rights activists remained under surveillance across China, or had been warned off participating in any public events.

In Beijing, civil rights lawyer Teng Biao had been subjected to surveillance, while writer Wang Debang had received a warning.

In Xian, activist Yang Hai said police had said they would take him out of town until after the anniversary, while a second activist Zhang Jiankang hadn't been seen since being called in to "drink tea" with national security police.

In southwestern China, Suining-based dissident Liu Xianbin and Chongqing-based rights activist Mu Jiayu both reported being under surveillance on the eve of June 4, CHRD said in a statement on its Web site.

Frontpage Magazine covers the memorial debacle

FrontPage managing editor Jamie Glazov interviews Alec Rawls in this week's FrontPage Interview. Mr. Rawls takes this opportunity to lay out the basic facts for a new set of readers:
1. The giant crescent (originally called the Crescent of Embrace) points to Mecca.

2. This giant Mecca oriented crescent is STILL THERE in the Circle of Embrace redesign (explicitly described as a broken circle, just as the Crescent of Embrace was).
Punch line:
It’s like gate security catching a terrorist with a bomb and telling him to go back outside and see if he can hide it better the second time. All [architect Paul Murdoch] did was add some completely irrelevant disguises.
Please give FrontPage a visit, and if you haven't bookmarked them already, the site is well worth your time.

Frontpage founder David Horowitz has been exposing the far left's takeover of the Democrat mainstream since the 1980's, and since 2001 has extended his Discover the Networks approach to our Islamofascist enemies. If you are drawn to the sound of the guns, FrontPage is on the frontlines of both the culture-war and terror-war battles for accurate information.

Flight 93 Families Divided

Blogburst logo, petition
Tom Burnett Sr. entered the lion's den on Saturday to oppose the crescent memorial to Flight 93 (now called a broken circle). An excerpt from the beginning of the Somerset Daily American's banner headline story about division amongst the families:
"Tom Burnett Jr. led the effort to take the plane back," his father said. "When I was on the design jury, I saw the red crescent of embrace and realized it was an obvious and blatant symbol of Islam. It does not properly honor our people — those Flight 93 heroes. I think it's a travesty that it's moved along so fast."

He called for an investigation into the design. When he has brought up his concerns, some of the task force and advisory commission members have dismissed him, he said.

"This is a cataclysmic mistake," he said. "I'm going to save you from yourselves. I'd like to ask for an unbiased, transparent, honest investigation. This is just a terrible, terrible mistake. I'm asking every American — we must stop this mistake. This panel doesn't own the design, I don't own it, Pennsylvania doesn't own it, all of America and all of the world own it."

He said he is also tired of the controversy, but that they must honor the heroes properly. It will reverberate in history. "I'm not going to stop fighting this thing, it is very, very bad," Burnett said. "Wake up. Get your heads out of the sand."
Other Flight 93 family members roared back. What is usually a three hour quarterly meeting of the Memorial Project stretched to five hours as over twenty people signed up to speak on both sides.

One side wants scrutiny. The other is desperate to avoid it.

The pattern at the meeting was simple and consistent. Critics of the crescent design pointed out damning facts and called for an independent investigation. Defenders of the broken circle insisted that there is nothing to investigate, and cried out for critics of the design to stop putting them through this agony.

If the claims of the critics are not accurate, an independent investigation would end the agony. If the crescent/broken-circle does not actually point within two degrees of Mecca, then put this explosive claim to rest by showing where the crescent does point. If there is not actually to be 44 inscribed translucent blocks emplaced along the flight path (matching the number of passengers, crew, and terrorists), it is a simple matter of opening up the design drawings and counting.

If the defenders of the crescent have the truth on their side, they should be eager to have it exposed. Unfortunately for them, the giant crescent does point to Mecca, and somehow they don't want the public to know it.

Todd Beamer's father is on the side of the crescent?

The highest profile defender of the crescent design was Mr. David Beamer, whose son Todd issued the "Let's roll" signal to re-take Flight 93. Mr. Beamer, beloved by conservatives for his opposition to Congressman Murtha, had not previously taken a public position on the crescent design. He has apparently gotten involved in fundraising for the memorial, and announced at the meeting that he has undertaken two months of due diligence, looking into criticisms of the design.

Listeners expected Mr. Beamer to continue with a report on his fact-checking efforts, but he did not have a single word to say about any of the claims that Mr. Rawls and Mr. Burnett have put forward, launching instead into an extended condemnation of Alec Rawls for his "obsessive" persistence.

If he found that the giant crescent does not point to Mecca, surely he would have said so. Similarly for the terrorist memorializing block count, or the placement of the 9/11 date in the exact position of the star on an Islamic crescent and star flag. What better way to be rid of this dastardly Rawls fellow than to expose his claims as a fraud?

Mr. Beamer's silence about what he found speaks volumes, and not just about the crescent design. Who could fact check these claims and then be silent about his findings?

Don't look at the design drawings!

Every defender of the crescent had his own scheme of evasion and obfuscation. Patrick White, Vice President of Families of Flight 93, took Alec Rawls to task for holding up a 2005 graphic of the top of the Tower of Voices, where an Islamic shaped crescent soars in the sky above the symbolic lives of the 40 heroes. This old graphic should not be taken as indicative of the current design Mr. White suggested, as the design has been evolving for three years now.

Yet the exact same graphic was brought to the meeting by the Memorial Project itself and was on display right outside the courtroom where the meeting was held.

That's going to make some great video, as will one particularly scurrilous attack on Mr. Burnett, and the victim card played by Project Superintendent Joanne Hanley. Several videographers will be sending raw footage, which Alec will start putting together when he returns to California next week.

Big enough to check the facts yet?

How big does the conflict have to get before some major media outlet is willing to do their jobs and actually check the facts for themselves?

David Dunbar and Brad Reagan of Popular Mechanics were willing to fact-check the "9/11 truth" morons, finding that most of their evidence is deliberately taken out of context, and that none of their claims stand up to the least bit of scrutiny.

Come on PM. If we are a bunch of frauds, then we are just as much in need of debunking. We've even got Flight 93 family members at loggerheads and crying out for relief. What are you waiting for? (A handy dandy list of damning facts to check here.)

Attacks on Flight 93 Sites

Okay, I'm getting really irrated here. I am trying to help out a friend by posting something for him, and I keep getting an error message. I've even tried changing the text by adding some writing of my own. Didn't work. Here it is:

Bob has asked me to post this for him, because he keeps getting error message, even over here. I must admit, I get an error message too, so I am going to try a different approach. That is why you see this additional writing and a different title. His title that he chose is, 'Denial of Service Attacks on Flight 93 Sites'. He believes it is important for everyone to know that we are having an effect, as do I, because someone has flagged his blogger account and had it shut down. Below please find what he has written. His will be in italics.

At 10:33 PM last night, I received an email from Boston Maggie, saying that her blogspot site had been locked due to a spam report. She had posted some things about Jawn eF'n sKerry, (who served in Viet Nam, BTW) and she assumed it had upset some Taxachusetts liberals, who responded by hitting the "Flag This Site" button. At 10:34 PM I received an email from Blogger telling me that MY blogspot site had been locked for the same reason. Someone had hit the "Flag This Site" button on my site as well.

I would just like to add that I find this childish and disgusting. If they don't like free speech, go back to Saudi Arabia! hehehe. Oh, I'm also writing this in the hopes that the computer will notice this is not the same post as the one I received an error message. heh.

Text of email from blogger:
Your blog at: DCProtestWarrior has been identified as a potential spam blog. To correct this, please request a review by filling out this form.

Your blog will be deleted within 20 days if it isn't reviewed, and you'll be unable to publish posts during this time. After we receive your request, we'll review your blog and unlock it within two business days. If this blog doesn't belong to you, you don't have to do anything, and any other blogs you may have won't be affected
.
I am interrupting this email just in case this is the problem. Does anyone know what an 404 is?
We find spam by using an automated classifier.
This, in fact, is not true. Blogger contacted these two people due to someone flagging their site. Remember?
Automatic spam detection is inherently fuzzy, and occasionally a blog like yours is flagged incorrectly.
It most certainly was!
We sincerely apologize for this error.
Oh really? Who is that on your donation list? For whom are you voting?
By using this kind of system, however, we can dedicate more storage, bandwidth, and engineering resources to bloggers like you instead of to spammers.
This is a load of crap, because you told me you couldn't block pornographers from my site! Hypocrites. I complain and there's nothing you can do. Someone else complains once, and you shut everything down? How dare you!
For more information, please see Blogger Help.

Thank you for your understanding and for your help with our spam-fighting efforts.

Sincerely,

The Blogger Team
After a few email exchanges with people OUTSIDE the blogspot community, we came to the conclusion that someone was targeting sites with one similar theme:

The meeting is on Saturday in Somerset PA regarding the Flight 93 Memorial. This attempt to silence our opinions on the proposed design is disturbing. It means we have struck a nerve and upset some people and they believe we are making a difference.

I have followed the instructions contained in the email from blogger, as has Maggie. We will keep you updated on the progress. I feel certain that the issue will be resolved in our favor.
I have also emailed blogger support and informed them of my suspicions
.

Please supply any technical help you may know of that I don't, which would not be that hard. lol. Thank you for helping ConcreteBob and BostonMaggie. Have a good night.

I did happen to notice a code I am unfamiliar with: _mce. What does this do? It may the cause of our 404 error message. Some computer programs use codes that no other program will allow. Hmm. Should I try this again now that I've found some codes and deleted them? Hmm...

PS. How ironic. Blogger is the one doing the banning, and blogger is the only one that would allow me to post this so far! My head is spinning. lol.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Flight 93 Blogburst: 6.11.08

Why the drag lines were removed from the Flight 93 crash site.

Blogburst logo, petition

When the passengers and crew of flight 93 smashed their murderers to nothing on an open expanse of western Pennsylvania coal country, two towering sentinels stood silent witness to the heroic tragedy.

“Up on Skyline Rd. ,” the news shot around Shanksville and Somerset , “up by the drag lines”:

Drag lines from Bowl

The drag lines, as seen from what will be the center of the giant Mecca-oriented crescent that is to be planted on the flight 93 crash site. (Photo by Alec Rawls, 2006.)

It is hard to imagine a more fitting marker than these twin colossi. Before the hijackers could send Flight 93 into the White House or the Capitol building, a random draw of forty of our fellow countrymen massed a towering determination to fight back. Their effort to save their own lives ended beneath those artifacts of Pennsylvania 's own native grit and ingenuity, but their success in defending their country will live forever.

Those silent sentinels could and should have endured as well, and they would have, if not for one man who was determined to see them go: architect Paul Murdoch, the designer of the terrorist memorializing Crescent of Embrace design. As the press reported at the unveiling of the crescent design:
The Flight 93 temporary memorial, the draglines and Skyline Drive will be removed to leave the landscape as natural as possible, Murdoch wrote in a narrative that accompanied the design.
The drag lines were supposed to stay

The presumption from the beginning was that the drag lines would stay. They were actually the first items of property purchased for the new national park.

Support for keeping the drag lines, whatever memorial design was chosen for the crash site itself, was virtually universal. The local historical society was for keeping the drag lines:
Several draglines still stand there, idled since the crash interrupted the mine work. Randy Cooley, director of the Southwest Pennsylvania Heritage Preservation Commission, said that equipment should stay, as part of the story the memorial will tell.

The excavating machines often are the first things visitors to the memorial site see, he said. The booms rise high over the field. They cast shadows, and show what the land once was.

"They're touchstones," Cooley said. "For many of the people on that plane, that may well have been the last thing they saw." [2003]
They were also meaningful to the local population:
The cranes, which served as drag lines for a long-idled strip mining operation, are synonymous with the area, residents said.

"When I think of (Skyline Drive ), I think of those drag lines," said Erica Zeigler, president of Shanksville Borough Council. "They're something everybody around here associated with that road." [2005]
Memorial Project manager Jeff Reinbold acknowledged the hard feelings about the removal of the drag lines:
"You wish you didn't have to do it. But this was a celebration of the process," he said. [ibid.]
Why was Murdoch determined to have the drag lines gone?

Because a crescent that Muslims face into to face Mecca is called a mihrab, and is the central feature around which every mosque is built. (Some mihrabs are pointed-arch shape, but the prototypical mihrab is crescent shaped.)

Very simply, Murdoch could not allow his terrorist memorial mosque to be tainted by extraneous infidel artifacts. Those drag lines would have risen up right behind the giant mihrab, disturbing what is supposed to be an undisturbed space within which the Muslim believer can turn face his god for prayer.

Perhaps worst of all from Murdoch’s perspective was the huge American flag that coal miners attached to one of the booms the week after 9/11:

Drag line with flag

This flag was history. If Murdoch did not get rid of the drag lines, he could not get rid of the American flag, rising up 180 feet behind his giant mihrab. (Photo by Alec Rawls, 2006.)

Unacceptable: the jihadists turn to face their god, and see… an American flag?

This mosque interpretation is no stretch. Murdoch provides endless redundant proof of intent, as when he repeats the Mecca orientation of his giant crescent in the crescents of trees that surround the Tower of Voices part of the memorial.

Still hoisting a flag

When the hijacker is finally tackled and we have a chance to turn to less critical matters, like how to design a proper memorial to OUR heroes instead of to Paul Murdoch’s heroes, one of the costs to be accounted will be the loss of the iconic drag lines. At least Murdoch was not able to destroy them entirely, as 22 tons of steel from the scrapped machinery is being used in the construction of the USS Somerset:

USS San Antonio, sister of USS Somerset

The USS Somerset will be a sister ship of the USS San Antonio (seen here), so the drag lines will still be hoisting a flag.

Interestingly, the single physical requirement set down for design competition entries was that they should respect the rural landscape and leave it as it was. Paul Murdoch’s crescent design is the only one of a thousand entries that violates this lone rule, first by building a raised causeway across the wetlands (necessary to extend his crescent to the full typical Islamic crescent shape, covering 2/3rds of a circle of arc), and then by excising the drag lines, which everyone agreed were central to the historic nature of the site.

Flight 93 Blogburst: 5.22.08

Blogburst logo, petition
Radio talk show host Mancow Muller is asking his listeners to help SHUT DOWN the crescent memorial to Flight 93. (Audio 27 seconds.) Mancow describes how the giant crescent points to Mecca, and how the four terrorists are consistently placed in the symbolic Islamic heavens (the crescent and star parts of the design), while the 40 heroes are consistently depicted as symbolically damned (placed outside of the symbolic Islamic heavens). Good stuff (1 min, 21 sec).

"You have to see it to understand..." says the pro-war libertarian host, directing his listeners to CrescentOfBetrayal.com where they can find pictures like this (a familiar sight for our blogburst readers):
40 tortured souls, 60%
The Tower of Voices. 40 symbolic souls, literally dangling down below an Islamic shaped crescent, soaring in the sky overhead. Using Islamic symbol shapes invites an Islamic interpretation, and in Islam if you don't go to heaven, you go to hell (the fate of ALL unbelievers). Forty symbolic souls, never to rest in peace, going for eternity in their symbolic Islamic damnation.

Mancow on civil disobedience

Congressman Tancredo was scheduled to come on Tuesday's show, but got stuck in a hearing. Near the end of the show, Mancow says Tancredo will be rescheduled, then he lays it on the line. He thinks his show and his listeners have the power stop this atrocity from being built, but if the crescent memorial does get built, he is going to take a sledgehammer to it. They can send him to jail. At that point it won't matter. There are limits to what Americans should stand by and take. (1 min, 21 sec).

Last week's show was good too, with segments from Tom Burnett Sr. (45 sec) and Alec Rawls (2 min, 49 sec). (Alec also did an hour long interview with Tracy at No Compromise blog radio last week. To listen, scroll down to May 15th.)

Robert Spencer

An unexpected extra came in the middle of Tuesday's show when Robert Spencer was on to talk about Islam. Mancow asked what Spencer thought about this memorial controversy and Robert stepped up with another piece of the expose, pointing out that the 9/11 date is to be placed on the center line of the giant crescent, in exactly the position of the star on an Islamic crescent and star flag. (43 seconds.) Exactly right. The date goes to the star on the Islamic flag. The date goes to the terrorists. Graphical proof here ("Terrorist memorializing feature #1"). With the difficulty of getting just the Mecca orientation across, the discussion almost never reaches these other explosive details. How does Mr. Spencer find the time to be so knowledgeable about so many things? You da MAN Robert!

Pilgrimage to Somerset

When Mancow is able to reschedule the two Tom's, Tom Burnett says he is going to urge listeners who want to visit the memorial to plan for the weekend of August 2nd, when the Memorial Project is scheduled to have its next public meeting. Then they can help protest the crescent design, and anyone can sign up to speak during the public comment period. Maybe we can even get Mancow to make the pilgrimage, and if Congressman Tancredo will call for a Congressional investigation, we just might be able to ram the food cart through the cockpit door. Just do it baby. Let's roll.

Talon: Congrats Patti! and Vietnam Vets Memorial Fund

Yesterday I submitted two articles to Talon, a milblog, which have been published. They are cross-posted here so you can read them, but you really should visit this new site. This is its third week posting, and there is such a variety of issues that I'm sure will interest you. Go ahead. Mine are over there. Enjoy!

Congrats Patti! 'America's Favorite Mom'.

Our very own Patti Patton-Bader has been voted ‘America’s Favorite Mom’! Let me go back to the beginning. Many of you already know Patti, but there are many who do not. This is for them.

Patti started out sending care packages to her son who was fighting this war. He noticed that some of his buds were not receiving any letters or anything. He mentioned this to his Mother, and she was on it like white on rice. In the beginning, I remember reading about her at Blackfive's. She had e-mailed him to ask if there were any people interested in writing letters and sending care packages. Remember at this time we were all looking for a way we could contribute to the effort and the troops.

Well. It didn’t take long before this poor woman was probably overwhelmed! She never complained. She never said a word about it except, ‘Thank you!’ This was back in ate 2004 or early 2005. She now has over 200,000 volunteers who write letters, send care packages, meets the troops when they arrive home, and provides extra needs for families for families who have to travel to the hospital and much more. Yes, she certainly has been our Soldiers' Angel.

We started voting for her back in March. This was the first part of the contest to qualify. She oblivious qualified. Then we were given another opportunity to vote again this past week, starting with Monday when she, along with two other very qualified Military Moms, were on NBC’s morning program. (Forgive me for not remembering the name of it. That’s proof that I don’t watch it! lol) There were five days with three women from each category last week.

Then on Sunday night, the winner was announced. Patti was very humbled. She does, however, have plans for that $250,000.
Humbled by the honor, Patti is thrilled to be able to use it to continue the Soldiers’ Angels mission of “May No Soldier Go Unloved.” As the grand prize winner, she will receive $250,000, a set of household appliances, and other valuable items. Patti hopes to apply the winnings to her plans for a small ranch that will allow newly returned soldiers to relax with their families after deployments.

“I really am lucky to know so many heroes in my life,” said Patti, who herself has two sons in the Army, one currently deployed to Iraq. “Whether they are the troops who serve our country or the amazing mothers here on this America’s Favorite Mom program, I am honored to be in the presence of such inspirational people and also am humbled to know that America thinks the same of me.”

Patti is also excited about the opportunities this platform gives her to help people learn more about America’s military heroes and options for supporting them and their families. The attention she has received through the America’s Favorite Mom events has already drawn a number of new volunteers who want to use their talents and connections to help support the troops.
This is wonderful news! New volunteers, money to help the troops, and she has been honored in a way she deserves. All in all, this is a wonderful blessing. Congratulations Patti!

Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall Fund.

Talon: Congrats Patti! and Vietnam Vets Memorial FundI wonder how many people understand that the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall is the only military memorial that the government had nothing to do with its erection? That is correct. Not one red cent. Nice of them to treat our Veterans in such a disgusting manner. Welcome to the Army? Not at that time! Thank God it did not remain this way with the attitude toward those who’ve sworn to put themselves in harms way for our sake. We are strangers to most of these men and women, yet that makes no matter to them. So should we make it matter when called upon by duty to help if and when can? Yes, we should.

That brings me to a radio program I heard at 3:44 am on May 9, 2008. Rusty Humphry was speaking with Holly Rotondi about upcoming events where the keynote speaker will be General George Casey on Memorial Day at 1 pm. Their contact number is (202) 393-0090 and an e-mail address for all who are interested is VVMF@VVMF.org. Memorial Day is May 26, 2008 this year. I have sent an e-mail to confirm the date and receive more information, so please keep up with this. You may also e-mail Holly yourself, if you wish.

General Casey’s father was killed in Vietnam. It has been determined that four more men have died due to causes they received during fighting in the War, and they have been added to The Wall recently. This brings the total to 58,260 people who gave their life‘s** so that we may remain free from communism. Now we must continue the fight to keep it out of our schools, politics, our country.

This new site (to me) is quite remarkable. Here are some of things that they do:
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund has many special events, ceremonies and programs focused on preserving the legacy of The Wall, promoting healing and educating about the effects of the Vietnam War.
The so-called end of the war was 25 years ago, and it was remembered last November 4, 2007. Many people still have a desire to understand the Vietnam War, and they have around 4 million visitors per year. They would like to put a face to the names on The Wall. We do not want our Heroes to go faceless, without any remembrance of who they were and how they lived.

Since this was never taxpayer funded, it will cost at least $75-100 million more dollars from donations for this project. Time-Warner has already pledged $10 million dollars. This money will go towards an educational center as well. [I am neither endorsing nor not endorsing this, I am just reporting what I heard.]

This is also on behalf of the Sons and Daughters of those who were taken too soon. The link to this site is VVMF.org. It appears to be a good site to me, but you should always check every site for yourself. Thank you, and have a very blessed day.

**I know this word is spelled ‘lives’, but I wanted to individualize each and everyone of them. They have earned at least that much.

PS. I have received an e-mail from Holly, and it has some information you may like.
The annual Memorial Day Observance at The Wall, co-hosted by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund and the National Park Service, will be held on Monday, May 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC. The ceremony will feature a keynote address by Army Chief of Staff General George W. Casey, Jr. whose father -George William Casey, Sr.- is remembered on 9 West, Row 126 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

She responded promptly, which gives people props in my book. IMHO.

Flight 93 Blogburst 4.23.08

Pennsylvanians build an organization to stop the Flight 93 memorial.

The following press release was sent to Pennsylvania news outlets yesterday:

Angry over the Islamic symbolism contained in the Flight 93 Memorial Design, which appears to honor both the heroes and the terrorists, a group of concerned citizens asked Harry Beam (Lt. Col. U.S. Army Retired) to lead an organized effort to have the design changed.

Col. Beam said he examined several different factors before agreeing to lead the effort. First, he found that the people making the request are credible. Tom Burnett (father of a Flight 93 Hero) is demanding change to the memorial design. Additionally, Col. Beam states that he has talked to MD’s, PhD’s., Attorneys, School Teachers, Nurses, Pastors, Skilled and Unskilled Workers, Veterans and Retirees who are upset with the actions of the Flight 93 Planning Committee and the National Park Service. Second, Beam said he had to determine the validity of the assertions that there is Islamic symbology in the memorial design. He stated, “I will be the first to admit that several years ago, when I first heard about the Red Crescent, I assumed that it was a matter of co-incidence. After researching the design, I found there are many (8) additional co-incidents which cause one to question the design and the designer.” The fact that the Red Crescent points towards Mecca in the same manner a Mosque would if it were built on the site. The fact that there are 44 glass blocks included in the design (40 passengers and crew; 4 terrorists) are just two more of the eight examples of co-incidence.

The third factor was that the statements from Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) opining on the symbolism issue were not credible. Their opinions, presented to the U.S. National Park Service and the Memorial Project, were contradictory. One SME stated “because the earth is round, you can face any direction and be facing Mecca .” Most 5th graders know that is false. The statement also conflicted with another SME who said “the orientation to Mecca must be exact.” Many mosques do not have an exact Mecca orientation. One of the SME’s was a classmate of the designer, Paul Murdock.

When asked, how do you hope to accomplish your goal of changing an approved national Flight 93 memorial plan? Beam responded “I know that it will be an up-hill fight, but our Flight 93 Heroes deserve a better memorial than one that also pays tribute to the Islamic terrorists”. This will be a massive grassroots effort throughout the country to sway the opinions of the Department of Interior, the National Park Service, the Flight 93 Planning Committee and our lawmakers to change the current design. When people hear the facts concerning the current design, they are angered and ask “How was the fraudulent design approved?” Email and written petitions are being circulated not only locally but throughout the nation. Although we have just started, we have thousands who have signed petitions. We are certain that number will increase. Currently, letters and phone calls are beginning to be made to lawmakers. Congressman Tancredo has asked the National Park Service to change the design and remove the Islamic symbology; we hope to get other lawmakers to support his efforts. This fight transcends politics. It is not a Republican or Democrat issue – It is Americans demanding that our Flight 93 Heroes get a National Memorial that honors their memory – not the memory of Islamic terrorists. Anyone wishing to obtain a written petition or sign an electronic petition, can go to www.crescentofbetrayal.com. Persons interested in assisting in this effort can contact Col. Beam at Col. Beam.

Flight 93 Blogburst: Tom Burnett Sr:'s Letter

A petition to stop the Flight 93 Memorial.

Dear Fellow Americans:

The planned Flight 93 Memorial contains extensive Islamic symbolism. It is an insult to my son Tom, and to the other murdered heroes of Flight 93 who stopped Islamic terrorists from destroying the White House or the Capitol that terrible September day.

Please consider signing this online petition that I and some compatriots have put together. It calls for a new memorial design, and for investigation of the present design. If you want to do more, feel free to forward or post this appeal.

For those who are not familiar, the original “Crescent of Embrace” design was laid out in the crescent and star configuration of an Islamic flag:
Outrage over this overt Islamic symbolism forced the Memorial Project to disguise the original crescent with a few additional trees, but every particle of the original design remains completely intact in the so-called redesign. The giant crescent and star flag is still there!

The Memorial Project assumes that any similarity to an Islamic crescent has to be unintentional. Even if it WERE unintentional it would still be intolerable, but how can anyone look at that crescent and star configuration and think that it CAN’T be intentional? That is like seeing an airliner fly into the World Trade Center and thinking that it CAN’T be intentional. Worst of all, the Memorial Project refuses to confront voluminous evidence that the Islamic symbolism IS intentional.

It turns out that a person facing into the giant crescent will be facing Mecca. A crescent that Muslims face into to face Mecca is called a “mihrab” and is the central feature around which every mosque is built. The crescent memorial will be the world’s largest mosque!

When TWO airplanes fly into the World Trade Center , even the most naïve person has start taking the possibility of intent seriously, but not the Memorial Project. The Islamic symbolism in Flight 93 Memorial goes on and on, but the Park Service refuses to be concerned.

Architect Paul Murdoch says that the crescent shape comes from the hijacked airplane breaking the circle where it crosses the upper crescent tip. The flight path then continues down to between the crescent tips where Flight 93 crashed. (That’s right: the crash site is the star on the crescent and star flag.)

Along the flight path are to be placed 44 translucent blocks, equaling the number of passengers, crew, AND terrorists:
Left image: The Memorial Wall, traces flight path just above the point of impact. The white line at eye level is a set of 43 glass blocks, 40 to be inscribed with the names of my son and the other passengers and crew, and three (on the near side of the gap) to be inscribed with 9/11 date.

Right image: At the upper crescent tip, at the end of the Entry Portal Walkway, sits a huge glass block, the 44th glass block on the flight path. It marks the spot where, in the architect’s description, the terrorists broke our humanitarian circle, turning it into a giant (Islamic shaped) crescent. Inscription: “A field of honor forever.”

I don’t want to celebrate the terrorist’s circle-breaking crescent-creating feat, and I certainly don’t want my son’s name inscribed on that terrorist memorializing block count.

We need to get the word out: the Flight 93 Memorial has been re-hijacked, and this time the whole nation is aboard. We have to get up out of our seats and stop this abomination!

Sincerely,

Tom Burnett Sr.
