Shame On Americans Cheering Defeat At IOC

Yes, Obama's family went to Copenhagen to try to get the Olympics to come to Chicago, and yes, America, not Obama, received the lowest votes. Is that what makes you so proud? Shame on you! We do not have to like someone else's politics or even the way they prostrate themselves in front of our enemies, but can we not agree that this is a vote against America? Land of the free, home of the brave, and land that I love?

She is both of our country, no matter whether or not someone sees her greatness. I never like it when she is insulted or assaulted. I'm quite sure the other side doesn't like many of the things I believe in such as God, Life, Liberty, and private property /sarc; but this is also their home.

Can we please come together for one freakin' minute out of the year and be grown up enough to take politics out of every damn thing? I'd appreciate it. We have many things that are more important policy wise. Just think about it the next time. Ask yourself, "Would I react this way if the most perfect president I could have voted for was treated in this manner, and the other side of the aisle behaved the way I just did?" Just sayin'...

BTW, I'm glad Rio finally got the Olympics. Good for them. We have had it here several times before, and I in no way meant to belittle any other country. Well, depending on what country that may have been. I will be having a caniption fit the day they announce the Olympics are to be held in Sudan or Iran! Not until they stop BUTCHERING their own people should they even have a seat at any table. But that's another story altogether. Just wanted to get that in here.

Also, I am still trying to caught up. Can't ya tell? This is kind of late news. haha. I'm caught up on Michael Yon's dispatches. Now I still have to do my subscriptions to YouTube and my Mulitary e-mails from all around the globe. Then if I still have time before my inbox gets full again, I can include some of the counterterrorism I've been reading. Chilling.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Obama: Pay Attention To Peru

The Jamestown Foundation has written an eye opening article about Peru and the problems brewing there. If we act earlier enough, we may be able to help their government stomp out a terrorist group before it gains back the strength it used to have in the '80's and '90's. Here is an introduction:
Peru’s Sendero Luminoso: From Maoism to Narco-Terrorism.

[Written] By: Frank Hyland

One of the most brutal and destructive terrorist groups worldwide since its emergence in 1980—Peru’s “Shining Path” (Sendero Luminoso - SL) —continues to carry out attacks on Peruvian military, police, and civilian targets in 2008. Almost ten years after the group splintered during a “no-holds barred” offensive by Peruvian security forces, government officials and citizens alike express concern that a return to the past, when almost 70,000 Peruvians and others died, may be in the offing (see Terrorism Focus, September 11, 2007).
The article goes on to describe who the leaders are/were, where they are located, what they have done in the past and are doing in the present, and the threat they pose to Peru, its neighbors, and the United States.

He makes a very compelling case that while they are small, they should be wiped out. My words, not his. When we first learned about Osama bin Ladin, if only we had taken steps then to wipe out his group! This is what Peru and we are facing at this moment. We cannot take our eyes off the ball when it concerns any country. Especially countries who are our allies, or our enemies for that matter.

In closing he states this:
Conclusion

It is the Peruvian peasantry that finds itself caught in the middle of the conflict between guerrillas and responding police and military units (ipsnews.net, November 6). There are concerns in the Peruvian government that many of these people may begin evacuating the Huallaga region to avoid a resurgence of the brutal warfare that characterized the area in the 1980s and 1990s, when more than 70,000 Peruvians were killed. President Alberto Fujimori’s “dirty war” effectively destroyed the SL, leaving only several hundred fighters left in the bush. Despite a widespread impression the movement was finished, the Shining Path’s transformation into a group providing security for narcotics traffickers while pursuing its goal of a Maoist state seems to have refueled the conflict.

What should concern the Government of Peru, its neighbors, and the United States most is that Colombia’s FARC traveled a very similar path to its present position of being a state within a state because it was not opposed in its nascent phase. Like the FARC in Colombia, Sendero Luminoso has and will continue to have the money to fund its revolutionary aims in Peru through involvement in narcotics production.

I hope you read this article. It may a little long, but it is very important. This is something we can stop before it becomes another al Qaida. Wouldn't you like to prevent another 9/11/2001? I know I would...

The Global War: Something To Consider

When we think of the global war, we think of Afghanistan and Iraq. Some refer to each country as different wars, some refer to them as different theatres of the same war. It all depends on your perception.

I have been watching the news about the Georgian occupation by the Soviets disappear and waiting for the smoke to blow over the car bombings in Yemen and Pakistan to understand their relevance and connection. To my surprise, it goes further than I had suspected.

We have put somewhat of a dent into FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia), a terrorist group who has been at war with the Colombian government for over 40 years, only to find through the documents obtained in the computers and other sources made available by the Columbian intelligence community and their successful raids of this group has a far more reaching network of which they obtain arms and monies, sell drugs, etc. from some state-sponsors (Venezuela and Nicaragua) and some non-state networks such as P-IRA of Ireland and ETA of Spain.

Here is the link to the third NEFA Foundation report written by Douglas Farah.

Sidebar: Douglas has been on top of this part of the world (and Africa) for a long period of time. He is a member of the Counter-Terrorism Blog, and he has his own site. Hat tip: CounterTerrorismBlog.

You may be thinking, "What does the ETA or the IRA have to do with al-Qaida? For that matter, what does Venezuela or Nicaragua have to do with this?" This is a good question. For a moment, I would like to let it stay a question while we explore more 'entities'.

Kenneth Conboy brings information to the table about Indonesia. On the same day of the bombings in Pakistan, "Indonesian cleric Abu Bakar Ba’asyir formally inaugurated a new hard-line organization in Bekasi, West Java, on 19 September. The new organization is called Jamaah Anshorud Tauhid (JAT), which roughly translates as “Savior Community.” The paramilitary Islamic Defender's Front sent several busloads of members from its chapters in Jakarta, Solo, and Indramayuto attend this inaugural ceremony."

This could mean more trouble from Indonesia. If this new JAT is anything like the old Indonesian Mujahidin which he led, it will be an anti-American group. This is one more country to add to the enemy list.
There are fears that the rhetoric of Ba'asyir, as well as other conservative clerics, will go more shrill if and when the three convicted Bali bombers are executed (which is likely to take place after the Idul Fitri holiday in early October).
This is, of course, another Islamic group. So what does this mean? This means that there is a growing number of Islamic groups, and none of their members are stepping up to the plate to denounce their violence. Where is the outrage over the Marriott Hotel bombing? I'm sure there were several Muslims in there. Where is the gnashing of teeth? *silence* *still silent* *still waiting* *don't care anymore*

There are two articles written about this incident that I would like to share with you. "Islamabad Bombing I: Brute Force Tactics", by Aaron Mannes, and "Jihadi Hellish message to Pakistan", by Walid Phares.

Aaron's article describes skill of the killers and their tactical acuity, while Walid discusses the far reaching message that is being sent by these bombings. Actually, both men cover this in their own way. They both write at CounterTerrorismBlog, but trust me. I've seen some very diverse opinions. It is very interesting over there to be sure. lol.

Also, Aaron notes the bombings in Yemen and Pakistan were within one week of each of other and trying to kill people in our embassies. Have you heard any outrage about these animals attacking America's Sovereignty? Not by any 'respectable' Muslims, nor from any 'American' newspapers. This is troubling on the face of it, but it also leads one to believe these entities agree with the bombers. That's correct. I said it, and I meant it.

There are many more articles I could bring to the table, but I believe this is sufficient. Now I would like to try to tie it all together. (There are many terrorists and jihadis in Africa as well, but that's too many articles.)

al-Qaida is not one entity. It is one of many different freaks who want to murder people for their pleasure, and they use political religion to hide behind. It is the same with the IRA. FARC is training Hizbullah and vice versa. North Korea is was having its nuclear weapons developed in Syria, Iran had a deal with North Korea for weapons they no longer have, and North Korea needs the money from the deal they made with Iran. No weapons, no deal. THAT IS WHY they are starting to reinstate their work on their weapons they never stopped working on, nor did they give them up like they were supposed to.

DEAR GEORGE, Told ya so.

From Ireland to South America to Africa (Sudan, Nigeria, Chad, Somalia, etc) to the Middle East to Europe to Asia to Russia, there are bodies of terrorists/jihadis who want nothing better than to rid the world of us. What does one need to become an ally? A common enemy, a common goal, and the means. All of the above countries and terror groups have a common enemy, the USA and our allies. They have a common goal, to rule the world. They are obtaining the means.

May I ask you a question? What do we have? Democraps? Repukians? People who would rather put politics above all else, including America? Now you tell me, who has a better chance of succeeding? You're dang right I'm scared. Because I know enough. Not even too much! Just enough to know that there is an attack coming, and we are not prepared for it. Twenty-five people died in a train accident, and the first responders were US, the civilians. The police, ambulances, firefighters, etc., had a hard time getting there. Huh?

People live there. How do they get home if it's that hard? I recommend you get yourself ready...it's only a matter of time. The enemey is emboldened, and the government is playing these stupid political games, putting the USA in jeopardy by looking weak. That's right. We look weak because these idiots.

GIVE ME SARAH! She'll know what to do. [THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION, AND IT MAY NOT BE THE VIEW OF THIS BLOG.]

PS. If I did not answer your question, please leave a comment and I will try to do my best to do so. Thank you.

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Intel Sharing Works - 'Fusion Center' Strategy

The bottom line in this strategy is the real-time sharing of information. This has enabled our soldiers (and the Columbian soldiers) to combine each piece of information, no matter how small, so they could put the pieces of the puzzle together. Sometimes information looks just like junk, but it can actually be a very valuable piece of information.

Doug has written a very good article which explains how the Columbian government was able to topple some of FARC's military. FARC is a terrorist group that kidnaps people for ransom, murders government officials, and occupied over 40% of the Columbian territory for about 40 years.

I have been watching this part of Columbia for many years now, and they have now gotten the upper hand on these terrorists (so it appears). Two of the seven top level creeps are now dead (don't mess with the Columbian Army!), and there is a great deal of money being offered to forsake your ties with this gang. It is working.

These are some of the worst scum in South America. It is good to hear this news.

The tactics they used to gather this intelligence has been used in Iraq and is starting to be used in Afghanistan. Unfortunately for Afghanistan, we have NATO to deal with. NATO has turned into a joke. Each country has told their soldiers the rules of engagement to follow, regardless of what NATO says.

Take Germany for example. These soldiers are not allowed to fire their weapons UNTIL someone shoots at them. That includes someone shooting at them and they cannot see this person but have an idea who it is, they cannot fire back. WHY ARE YOU THERE?

Fortunately, we are starting to combine our intelligence and sharing it so that we can have real-time data. We may have air coverage before we even know we need it because of this counterinsurgency (COIN) strategy. Maybe we won't have it all the time, but sometimes is a lot better than no times.

If you would like to read the original article by Douglas, I have provided a link below. Have a very nice day!

Hat tip: Douglas Farah of CounterTerrorismBlog who wrote The Success of the "Fusion Center" Strategy. Doug has also pointed us to the Washington Post and here is his NEFA report on the state of FARC.

Columbia rescues 15 hostages from FARC

This is a wonderful day. Today we are receiving the news that three of our men that were taken hostage in February 2003 when their plane crashed while doing survellance and recon for the narco squad were finally freed. There was also a French presidential candidate among them, along with 11 Columbian police and military personnel.

The names of our three freed hostages are Marc Gonsalves, Thomas Howes and Keith Stansell. They were U.S. military contractors. I believe they also had prior military experience, but please don't quote me on that.

Marc Gonsalves' father was mowing the lawn when he learned of his son's release. He was in shock, so much so that he couldn't even turn off the lawn mower. Apparently he had forgotten how! His father lives in Hebron, Conn.

Thomas Howes is a native of Chatham, Mass, and his niece, Amanda Howes, proclaimed that this rescue redefines the word, 'Miracle'.

Keith Stansell's family lives in Miami, Fla. All together, they were taken to Lackland Air Force Base at around 11pm Tuesday night so they could receive medical treatment and answer some questions. Always with the questions, right? lol.

There was also a French woman by the name of Ingrid Betancourt who is the lady I referred to earlier as the lady who was a presidential candidate many years ago.

Many people were grumbling that we were not concerned, but little did they know all the efforts that were going on behind the scenes. President Bush has been working to bring our men home ever since their plane went down.

The Columbian president, A. Uribe, Defense Minister Juan Manuel Santos, and some in the White House had been planning rescue for many years, but it was very dangerous. Sometimes they would have them in their eyes only to find that by the time the orders came, the FARC thugs had already disappeared into the jungle.

There are many great articles written already. One of them is 3 rescued US hostages arrive safely in Texas, of TriCityHerald.com by Elizabeth White. Theodore's Place also has post: Hostage Rescue from Columbia ~ 3 U.S. Defense Department Contract Workers and Others. The CounterTerrorismBlog also has news about this: Colombia Rescues Ingrid Betancourt and Three US Hostages. I highly recommend this one, because they do not need the AP for their information. They have their own knowledge and sources. This was written by Jonathan Winer.

This is truly a magnificant Independence Day gift, and it is a very remarkable job that the Columbia Army performed. Thank you, Columbia, from those of us with a sane brain in the US of A!

VIVA COLUMBIA! VIVA COLUMBIA! VIVA COLUMBIA!

May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can.

London Politics Open Post Tuesday/Wednesday

I had written a whole post about the disconnect between London's Mayor Livingston and Mayor Boris Johnson. The bottom line? Newly elected CONSERVATIVE Mayor Johnson told chavez to take a hike, after defeating LIBERAL Livingstone was accepting kickbacks to keep a PR office open in London and an office in Venezuela. The article can be found at the Opinion Journal section of the Wall Street Journal titled, "No Mas." He also has a few words, as do I, for some of our representatives in Massachusetts.

Side note: If we are so hated the world over, why do Conservatives seem to keep winning? Hmm??? ;)

Why the summary? Because the article I wrote was a little lengthy, and someone come and moved my CPU in the middle of my work. My CPU is rather sensitive, and it became 'unplugged'. Did I lose everything I was on at that time? YES!!! Ugh! (I forgive that person. It's only a story.)

Blogger news: Fairness Doctrine, Terrorism, Conservatism

It has been a while since we have looked at the Fairness Doctrine, but now we have a reason to do so. The National Center for Public Policy Research and Project 21 will discuss this. There is also concern within the TSA by some concerned patriots about the same conditions being in place that existed prior to 9/11/2001. Let us not forget Columbia, eh? There is more news about what is happening than when I first started googling.

For Release: February 26, 2008
Contact: David Almasi at (202) 543-4110 x11 or Dalmas AT National Center.org.

Backdoor Imposition of Fairness Doctrine Opposed by Black Broadcasters

New "Local Programming" Regulations Under FCC Consideration Could Lead to Broadcast Restrictions

>Washington, D.C. - Concerned that proposed Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations regarding "local programming content and diversity" could lead to a new "Fairness Doctrine," black broadcasting veterans affiliated with Project 21 have submitted comments to the FCC opposing new restrictions on currently-accepted political and social content.

"We've seen an explosion in broadcast content since the FCC set aside the political restrictions of the Fairness Doctrine over 20 years ago," said Project 21 Fellow Deneen Borelli. "To bring about new restrictions now would hurt businesses, political discourse and the diversity these proposed regulations purport to want to foster. All it will do is hurt free expression and free speech."

The FCC released a report in late January on the topic of "broadcast localism" that ostensibly seeks "to ensure that broadcasters are appropriately addressing the needs of their local communities." Some of the report's proposals include "increase[ing] local content and diversity in programming," "establish[ment of] permanent advisory boards... to consult periodically on community needs and issues" and new licensing guidelines to "ensure that all broadcasters provide some locally-oriented programming."

Project 21 members and other critics of new regulation of accepted broadcast content contend this would set the stage for a reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine. This defunct FCC rule, requiring broadcasters to present contrasting viewpoints on controversial issues, was abolished in 1987. Between the 1980s and today, talk radio grew from 75 stations nationwide to around 1,800. It is feared that a return of content restrictions would return broadcasting to what former NBC "Meet the Press" host Bill Monroe called "timid, don't-rock-the-boat coverage."

It also is noted that technological innovations such as the Internet, with services such as blogs, YouTube and other web sites, as well as 24-hour broadcast news outlets, make access to all views readily available.

"Media is a business driven by success and profit. While this FCC report proposes regulations with a veneer of promoting balance and fairness, a closer examination shows they will likely blunt today's most successful models of discourse," said Project 21 chairman Mychal Massie, a former talk radio host. "Any government interference in content that draws views or listeners and does not violate accepted standards of decency should be viewed hyper-critically."

Project 21 members submitting comments against the FCC's Report on Broadcast Localism and the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (MB Docket No. 04-233) include Chairman Mychal Massie, Fellow Deneen Borelli, and National Advisory Council members Kevin Martin, Bob Parks, the Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson and Elder Doctor Levon Yuille. All have been involved in radio and television broadcasting.

The comments submitted by Project 21 members can be downloaded at www.nationalcenter.org/FCC-Broadcast-Comments-0208.pdf.

For more information, contact David Almasi at (202) 543-4110 x11 or Dalmasi at National Center.org, or visit Project 21's website.

Here is the article from ACT! for America about the TSA not giving a darn about the true American citizens:
9/11 Redux: 'Thousands of Aliens' in U.S. Flight Schools Illegally.

Former FAA Inspector: TSA's Enforcement of Post-9/11 Laws 'Basically Nonexistent'

By BRIAN ROSS, VIC WALTER and ERIC LONGABARDI
Feb. 27, 2008

Thousands of foreign student pilots have been able to enroll and obtain pilot licenses from U.S. flight schools, despite tough laws passed in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, according to internal government documents obtained by ABC News.

"Some of the very same conditions that allowed the 9-11 tragedy to happen in the first place are still very much in existence today," wrote one regional security official to his boss at the TSA, the Transportation Security Administration. [emphasis added]

"Thousands of aliens, some of whom may very well pose a threat to this country, are taking flight lessons, being granted FAA certifications and are flying planes," wrote the TSA official, Richard A. Horn, in 2005, complaining that the students did not have the proper visas. [Continue reading.]

This article may move, so if you have any trouble, just let me know. I will retrieve it for you. (If I still have it. Sometimes I clean out my inbox.)

I have two good news articles from Dagney. First, of course, is her article. Then within her article, we find the same crap I've been finding.

Home Again, Home Again...What Was That Refrain?.

TOP COLUMBIAN FARC COMMANDER SAID TO BE KILLED(!)

Her response to that story?

"OMG!!!!
You are right!!!
I have the chills!!!!
I can't even express how HAPPY I am!!!!!!
This is URIBE's way to deal with terrorists!!!"

Don't you love it when friends get good news!?! Of course, that is not the way much of the world see this story, especially the drive by media!

"Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez threatened to join the rebels in a war to overthrow hard-line Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, a key ally of the United States, deploying tanks, fighter jets and thousands of troops along the Colombian border."

WaPo calls the radical socialist Chavez "Venezuelan President...", but refers to Colombia's President Alvaro Uribe as "hard-line". Of course the liberal socialists at the Washington Post revere our enemy socialist Chavez, but hate our ally Uribe! Why anyone believes anything these people write is just beyond me! [Continue reading.]

In case you are unaware, Columbia has been at war with its southern border for over 20 years now. They are harboring Hamas, Hizbollah, IRA, and FARC. All of which are known to be terrorists. Any enemy of the USA is certainly a friend of Chavez in Venezuela and those 'useless idiots' in Hollywood and the Left in Congress. It is such a shame that these people would prefer to see their own demise than to stand for their own country. It begs the question, "Why don't you move then?"

Here is an email I received from one of the movers and shakers out here in California, and I would like to share it with you:
What are the Principles of Conservatives?

Folks, as fighters for freedom we need to understand the foundation of our beliefs. This article by David Limbaugh gives us a precise explanation of the principles of conservative views. While we may spend a lot of time helping run political organizations, elect candidates and defeat/support ballot measures, all of this activity is based on values and principles. Pass this along to your friends. Let them know why you are a conservative. [Hopefully to] better understand your own views and let liberals know the hypocrisy of their views. Read this explanation of conservatism.

Note: No trees were killed in the sending of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Chavez is back in the news with his delusions

Once again, Venezuelans has been given to delusional thoughts of granduer by their president, Mr. Chavez. He is a very unstable leader, and this unstability leads to dangerous situations.

Mr. Chavez has been trying to tighten ties with Iran and North Korea. He hates the United States, and he believes we are trying to crush him. I only wish we would.

Fox News has an article today: Chavez Says Venezuela Captured Four U.S. Spies. Quite interesting, if you have been keeping up with the calamity known as Venezuela. Unfortunately, I have not written articles about what I've read.

I do, however, have a a few links that will allow you to keep up to date if you would like. Caracas News, Full Coverage: Venezuela (Yahoo News), and Planeta.com. This last one covers all the countries in South America, so if you are interested in other countries, help yourself.

There are many stories out there right now that may be of concern:
Venezuela’s Candidacy for UNSC Appears on Track. Thu, Aug. 17, 2006.

Chavez's challenger rallies thousands in Venezuelan capital.

I am not interested in telling the world how lovey-dovey Chavez and Castro are/were. There are some articles about that in Caracas.com. If you'd like, that's were you'll find them. Have a great day.

Should the Axis of Evil be Extended to Chavez?

Chavez has been going to NK and has a 'Friendship and Cultural Association' pact with NK, Iran, and Hizbollah. He has ambitions for nuclear proliferations, and I hope he is stopped before it is too late.

Iran already has plans to ship missles to Chavez in oil tankers so as not to be suspected. If Iran is going to do this, wouldn't that mean they have them to ship? Hmm.
