Flight 93 Petition is picking up steam

Here is an early edition of today's blogburst for Flight 93. As usual, it is written by Alec. Help us to spread the word by joining!

World Net Daily has a very informative article today about our petition to investigate the Flight 93 memorial. It includes excerpts from Tom Burnett's letter to the American people; it includes information about the fraudulent Park Service investigation (where an Islamic scholar said not to worry about the half mile wide Mecca oriented crescent because nobody has ever seen a mihrab anywhere near this BIG before); and it reviews the four specific complaints highlighted in the petition (the giant crescent, the Mecca orientation, the Islamic sundial and the 44 blocks).
Blogburst logo, no accident
Those last four links are to graphics that Tom Burnett is going to have on poster-boards when he addresses a Republican convention in Wisconsin at the end of the month. World Net Daily is looking to add video content these days so Tom is going to try to get video of his speech that we can edit down to five minutes of highlights for WND.

The first place we will be delivering the petitions is to the Memorial Project's public meeting on May 3rd in Somerset PA. It looks like we are going to have quite a few signatures, both from the electronic petition (zooming towards 2000 already), and from the paper petitions (now circulating on the ground in PA).

At least one state legislator from Pennsylvania has signed the petition, and a Congressman has expressed interest in entering the whole thing into the congressional record. That would be a second Congressman coming out publicly against the memorial. (Tom Tancredo asked the Park Service last fall to scrap the crescent design entirely.)

Will any of the big radio radio voices wake up to the evidence that al Qaeda accepted our open invitation to the ENTIRE WORLD to enter our design competition? All they have to do is look at the FACTS.

Coalition forces conduct airstrike in Basra, 2 criminals killed

MNFI.

BAGHDAD (April 3, 2008) — Coalition aircraft conducted a precision strike on a house in Basra Wednesday, killing two criminals. While conducting operations in support of Iraqi Security Forces, Coalition forces were attacked with small-arms fire by two criminals on a rooftop. The ground force called in supporting aircraft to engage the individuals. An F/A-18 carried out a precision airstrike on the house, and Coalition forces on site confirmed that two enemy were killed in the airstrike.

Coalition forces are unaware of any civilians killed in the strike but are currently looking into the matter.

"Coalition forces continue to provide tactical overwatch with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms, and support aircraft, on an as-requested basis from Iraqi Security Forces in Basra," said Cmdr. Scott Rye, MNF-I spokesman. “We go to extraordinary measures to ensure the safety of civilians when conducting operations, unlike criminal elements, who consistently put innocent civilians at risk."

Soldiers help Iraqi girl see brighter future

by Kevin Stabinsky
2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division Public Affairs Office

FOB KALSU, Iraq (March 31, 2008) — Her hands run across his hand, her fingers explore his features. She asks her father: Is he fat or skinny? Tall or short? She is trying to learn about the man she cannot see, the one who strives to end the mystery surrounding him and the world around her.

First Lt. Michael Kendrick, platoon leader of 2nd Platoon, Company D, 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, said it is his goal to replace the mental picture young Noor Taha Najee has of her father with the actual image.

Noor Taha Najee gives 1st Lt. Michael Kendrick, platoon leader, 2nd Platoon, 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, a goodbye kiss near the end of a March 26 visit to her house in al Buaytha, Iraq. Noor, whose corneas are underdeveloped, has been blind since birth. The Soldiers of 1-30th Inf. Regt. are working with a nongovernmental organization in Los Angeles, the Eye Defects Research Foundation, to get Noor surgery that may provide her with sight. Photo by Sgt. Kevin Stabinsky.Noor, a 5-year-old girl who lives in al Buaytha, has been blind since birth, a condition caused by poorly-developed corneas, said her father Taha. It is a problem that runs in the family. Taha's brother, Mustafa, also suffers from the birth defect, one that prevents the eyes from registering anything other than light sensitivity. Although the condition is genetic, it is one that can be fixed through surgery. Kendrick, a native of Phoenix, Ariz., and his unit have been working closely with doctors to try to get something done for the family.

"To have her see her family, her brothers, to put a face to the voice, it would be a blessing," Taha said of the opportunity to help give sight to his daughter and brother. The Eye Defects Research Foundation, a nongovernmental organization based in Los Angeles, is already trying to schedule a surgery for the girl. On March 14, the Soldiers took Noor and her uncle to the 86th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad to get an evaluation done on the two, which showed a higher potential for success with Noor.

"We're on standby now, waiting for a doctor in L.A.," Kendrick said. He said they are now trying to find a local Iraqi doctor who would be willing to travel with Noor and her family to California. An Iraqi doctor is needed who could be shown the necessary follow-up care.

Such a gift would seem appropriate for a girl who is described as very generous and giving by her father. "She's different from many other kids," Taha said. "She's always sharing. She'll give you anything."

It is a personality trait which has endeared her to the 2nd Platoon Soldiers. "We've taken a real vested interest in the people here," Kendrick said, adding his Soldiers spend a lot of time on the ground, interacting with residents. "We empathize with the people. It pays dividends winning the hearts and minds. It keeps things quiet."

Noor has developed quite an attachment to Kendrick, Taha said. "She likes to sit by him, and is always asking me about him and loves it when I tell her stories about him," he said. "She's only like that with Kendrick."

As a father of two young girls himself – Presley, 3, and Parker, 1, – Kendrick said he knows the importance of family and providing for them. While she may not be able to see what the Soldiers are doing for her, Taha said Noor can definitely sense the goodwill of Kendrick's platoon. "Love begins in the mind, not the eyes," Taha said.

Afghan school gets new library, science lab

Bagram Media Center.

BAGRAM AIRBASE, Afghanistan (March 28, 2008) — The first day of school at Jan Qadam Elementary School, Parwan Province, was alive with the throngs of excited children, dignitaries, government officials and Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Afghanistan soldiers who dedicated a new school library and science lab, March 24, 2008.

Just after 9 a.m. on Monday, the Head of the District Development Council welcomed everyone to the event, noting the importance of the relationship between the school and all those who helped make it a great place to learn. He specifically thanked the children of Calvert City Elementary School, Calvert City, Ky., for their partnership with the Jan Qadam School.

Afghan school children crowd into class during the first day of school at Jan Qadam Elementary School, Parwan Province, March 24. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Marie Schult)“The partnership between the schools is a community-based initiative between the people and students of Calvert City Elementary School and the Jan Qadam School and community,” said Lt. Col. Kenneth Watson, a member of CJSOTF-Afghanistan.

After the speeches and a prayer, the new school library was dedicated to Afghan Gen. Baba Jan, a retired Afghan commander. Jan donated the land to build the school on and the library is filled with books donated by USAID.

The distinguished guests and visitors toured the school and visited the new science lab. It is the only science lab in the Bagram School District, which has 32 schools, including seven high schools. “School is the factory that produces positive individuals for society,” said Adul the Head of the District Development Council, Adul Waquel. Jan Qadam hosts more than 1,200 students who are taught in two shifts.

Village elders passed out backpacks to more than 500 students and Calvert Elementary children donated notebooks, pens, pencils, glue and rulers to their Afghan counterparts. The partnership with Calvert Elementary is only just beginning. In addition to the supplies provided, students from a second grade class there wrote letters to the students at the Jan Qadam School. Calvert students were mostly interested in what Afghan children do at home, during their free time.

“My name is Erin, I’m from Calvert, Kentucky,” one of the letters starts out. “I can’t wait to learn about your culture.”

Most of the Calvert students seemed interested in the differences between Afghan children and American children with most listing their favorite sports and after-school activities. “It bridges cultures and helps educate future generations about other people who share our world,” said Watson.

“We will pass the translated letters out to the Afghan children and send their replies back to the states,” said a Coalition commander. “Some time in the next few months students from Calvert city will travel to Ft. Campbell, Ky., to have a video teleconference with some of the Afghan students.”

“It was a great day for the people of Jan Qadam, the Ministry of Education, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and Coalition forces,” said Watson. “It reinforces our ties and commitment to the community and people of Afghanistan and helps foster an enduring relationship.”

Vets For Freedom Go To Washington

Today is Monday, but I happen to know they reached DC yesterday. Pretty good time, eh? They sure did have many thrilling experiences along the way, starting with San Diego, CA. Here is what they have to say in an e-mail today:
Dear Vets for Freedom members: Vets For Freedom National Heroes TourFor the past three weeks, the National Heroes Tour took the message of the success in Iraq straight to the American people. From San Antonio to Saint Paul to South Carolina, we engaged crowds large and small, and spoke with over 200 media outlets, reaching over 20 million people through local television and radio.

With just 3% of news coverage in the mainstream media committed to Iraq, we bypassed national media all together, and it worked. Local media outlets were very receptive to "ground truth," and our veterans were able to provide it. Any way you slice it, the National Heroes Tour has been an overwhelming success.

Vets on the Hill - Sign up!But it's not over yet. Tomorrow we bring our message to Congress, when over 400 Iraq and Afghanistan veterans descend on Capitol Hill for "Vets on the Hill." Our guys will enjoy breakfast with the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Richard Myers, before heading to Capitol Hill for a bi-partisan press conference with two-dozen members of Congress, including Senators John McCain, Joe Lieberman, and Lindsay Graham.

After the press conference, Vets for Freedom will flood the halls of Congress with a sea of warriors, armed with first-hand experience, facts about the incredible progress in Iraq, and a passion for nothing short of victory, Their stories are "taking points" that no one can refute—and members of Congress, on both sides of the aisle, will hear from them.

Our message is simple: Let them win! and listen to General David Petraeus. He was right in September, and has the best pulse on events in Iraq. Congress would be wise to heed his advice.

Commence Movement to Contact,

Pete Hegseth
Executive Director
Vets for Freedom
I agree wholeheartedly! LET THEM WIN! You people in Congress (believe it or not, that's what they are and all that they are) had better listen to General Petraeus. If you were so intelligent, you would have his job. But you DON'T! There is a reason for that. WE WANT TO LIVE! He is the only thing standing between the enemy+congress and us. We will be on his side. If you don't believe us, we will remember how you treated him the next time it comes to vote on your behaviour. *hah*

Good on you, Sarkozy!

Today French President Sarkozy has put pressure on China to open up or else...
BEIJING — French President Nicholas Sarkozy stepped up the pressure on China Saturday over its handling of the Tibet crisis by warning he may boycott the Olympic opening, following fresh violence.

Sarkozy's warning, delivered by one of his ministers in the Le Monde newspaper, also came shortly after China said it would step up a controversial "education" campaign for Tibetans in an effort to end nearly a month of unrest.

Sarkozy will only attend the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony if China opens dialogue with exiled Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama and frees political prisoners, French Secretary of State for Human Rights Rama Yade said. [Continue reading.]
Now if only we had a state department and an administration that understood that 'peace at all costs' and 'money is the end all to beat all' is NOT good for human rights and societies as a whole, we may be a better people and a better country.

Shame on you, President Bush. Saying you will go to the opening ceremonies no matter what is NOT very democratic. You could have at least made the comment that President Sarkozy has made. He is at least reconsidering. China is sweating in the pants, and you? You are probably eating Chinese food and continuing to ignore all the world as we cry with the Chinese people for freedom.

You have disappointed me again. What next? A statue of Mao on the White House lawn?

The Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT)

The Investigative Project on Terrorism has been very busy working to put together this report on CAIR. They have done some fine investigative reporting before, and they continue to do a very good job. I must say, they do much better than our own government, but I guess that isn't a very fitting compliment since that is not hard to accomplish. ;)

They have come out with their tenth section of a report they have prepared. Here is the beginning of Part X at CounterTerrorism Blog:
In a series of thorough and carefully documented articles, the Investigative Project on Terrorism has detailed the sinister side of the self-proclaimed Muslim civil rights group CAIR.

Today's tenth and final installment takes a look at CAIR's persistent -- and often contrived -- charges of "hate crimes" perpetrated against Muslims and supposed "anti-Muslim hysteria" rampant in this country. [Continue reading.]
Next there are the links to each of the ten Parts. The Summaries for each report can be found at the site, and the reports are on .pdf files. The URL for this site is the Investigative Project on Terrorism. (Check them out.)

Part I: Summary, CAIR's Origins.

Part II: Summary, CAIR's Funding.

Part III: Summary, The Suspect Ties of CAIR Officials, Fundraisers and Trainers.

Part IV: Summary, CAIR and Hamas.

Part V: Summary, CAIR and Terrorism: Blanket Opposition to U.S. Investigations, Equivocal Condemnations for Plots Against America.

Part VI: Summary, CAIR Portrays "War on Terrorism" as Malicious "War on Islam".

Part VII: Summary, CAIR Denies the Challenges Posed by Radical Islamists.

Part VIII: Summary, CAIR Has Participated in and Co-Sponsored Islamist Conferences Within the United States.

Part IX: Summary, CAIR’s Extremism and Anti-Semitism.

Part X: Summary, CAIR Pushes Phony Charges of Anti-Muslim Hysteria, Hate Crimes.

There is much information in this report on CAIR and its dealings within the USA. For anyone interested, this is a gold mine. Everyone else, just go on your merry little way. We'll do it. Just don't bitch that you didn't know and that no one tried to tell you about it later. Okay, I'm half kidding. I know not everyone can study everything. Heck, I'm getting burned out myself! I am, however, trying to hang in there. You do the same. No one promised us a rose garden...

Mr. Charlton Heston: Thank you, and RIP

Today I have learned that Charlton Heston has left this earth to be with the LORD. He is now in a better place, yet his family is left behind to mourn their loss of him. Please join me in prayer for their comfort from the LORD. Below you will find an AP report from Yahoo news:

Charlton Heston dead at 84.
By BOB THOMAS, Associated Press Writer

Actor Charles Heston displays one of his rifles at his home in Los Angeles, Calif, in September 1984. Heston, who won the 1959 best actor Oscar as the chariot-racing 'Ben-Hur' and portrayed Moses, Michelangelo, El Cid and other heroic figures in movie epics of the 50s and 60s, died Saturday April 5, 2008 according to a statement from the actor's family. He was 84. AP Photo/Lennox McClendon. LOS ANGELES - Charlton Heston, who won the 1959 best actor Oscar as the chariot-racing "Ben-Hur" and portrayed Moses, Michelangelo, El Cid and other heroic figures in movie epics of the '50s and '60s, has died. He was 84.

The actor died Saturday night at his home in Beverly Hills with his wife Lydia at his side, family spokesman Bill Powers said.

Powers declined to comment on the cause of death or provide further details.

Heston revealed in 2002 that he had symptoms consistent with Alzheimer's disease, saying, "I must reconcile courage and surrender in equal measure."

With his large, muscular build, well-boned face and sonorous voice, Heston proved the ideal star during the period when Hollywood was filling movie screens with panoramas depicting the religious and historical past. "I have a face that belongs in another century," he often remarked.

The actor assumed the role of leader offscreen as well. He served as president of the Screen Actors Guild and chairman of the American Film Institute and marched in the civil rights movement of the 1950s. With age, he grew more conservative and campaigned for conservative candidates.

In June 1998, Heston was elected president of the National Rifle Association, for which he had posed for ads holding a rifle. He delivered a jab at then-President Clinton, saying, "America doesn't trust you with our 21-year-old daughters, and we sure, Lord, don't trust you with our guns."

Heston stepped down as NRA president in April 2003, telling members his five years in office were "quite a ride. ... I loved every minute of it."

U.S. President George W. Bush presents actor Charlton Heston with the Presidential Medal of Freedom during a ceremony at the White House, in this July 23, 2003 file photo. Heston passed away at the age of 84, his family said on April 5, 2008. (Kevin Lamarque/Files/Reuters)That same year, Heston was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor. "The largeness of character that comes across the screen has also been seen throughout his life," President Bush said at the time.

He engaged in a lengthy feud with liberal Ed Asner during the latter's tenure as president of the Screen Actors Guild. His latter-day activism almost overshadowed his achievements as an actor, which were considerable.
Well, at least they kept their fangs inside their mouths this time. Links were added by me.

This is my site. If you do not care for other people than yourself asking others to join them in prayer, then go away. I need not waste my time explaining to you that I am NOT the government...

Update: I should have known to wait a minute. Now the fangs are coming out. What a decedant people we are, and what indecent times in which we live. I will miss you, Charlton Heston, please say hello to Jesus for me! Here is what they have now written: Legendary actor Charlton Heston dies at 84. Mind you, it does some good things about Charlton THROUGH OTHER PEOPLE, but they, themselves, get their own little digs in there. I'd like to take each one of them away for a weekend and teach them proper etiquette. Good day.

Flight 93 Blogburst 4.4.08

I have seen many posts on this topic of the crescent shaped image that these elites are trying to impose upon America for the sake of the Muslims, but I am totally against it. Unless we are able to make a large cross at taxpayer dollars expense in memorial, then you can easily understand why. I have also seen many posts that are just plain better than my own. I shall be giving the emailed version of the blogburst, which is pretty good in itself. I just wanted to let you know so that the proper people get the credit. He would be Alec of Error Theory. Here is his article:

UK Independent reports the Mecca orientation of the Flight 93 crescent.

On Saturday, the conflict over Islamic symbolism in the Flight 93 memorial got its first international news coverage. One highlight is the conversation that Leonard Doyle, U.S editor of the UK Independent, had with Tom Burnett Sr.:
Tom Burnett, whose son Tom Jr died in the crash, said of the design that it is "aesthetically wonderful," but "a lot of it contains Islamic symbols". He added: "We ought to just throw the design out and start anew because it really dishonours those who died."
Blogburst logo, no accident
Towards the end, Doyle moseys around to the bombshell, reporting the Mecca orientation of the giant crescent as a fact. The bad news is that Doyle immediately tries to dismiss this explosive information by making a completely irrelevant and factually preposterous counterclaim:
Part of the blame must lie with Paul Murdoch, architect of the winning design who initially described it as a "Crescent of Embrace". The title caused the internet to erupt with conspiracy theories. Then someone noticed that the arc actually pointed towards Mecca . The fact that this was also the direction to Washington DC was lost on the conspiracy theorists.
No, the direction to Mecca is NOT the direction to Washington . The shortest-distance direction to Mecca (the way that Muslims calculate the direction to Mecca ) heads northeast from the western Pennsylvania crash-site. Some people find that counter intuitive, but Pennsylvania and Mecca are both in the northern hemisphere, with Mecca being about 2/3rds of the way around the hemisphere. Thus the direction to Mecca takes a shortcut towards the north pole. D.C., in contrast, lies southeast from the Shanksville crash site.

The errant claim that D.C. and Mecca lie in the same direction is a red herring anyway. what difference would it make if people facing into the giant crescent were facing Washington ? Is there a religion of facing Washington five times a day for prayer? Were the hijackers of Flight 93 followers of such a religion. No. They faced MECCA five times a day for prayer. That is why the Mecca direction matters.

A crescent that Muslims face into to face Mecca is called a "mihrab," and is the central feature around which every mosque is built. The memorial now being built in Shanksville will be the world's largest mosque by a factor of about fifty (and there are some really big mosques).

Doyle is not the first person to try to dismiss the Mecca orientation of the Flight 93 crescent by claiming that the crescent also points to something else. Of course it DOES point to a host of other places. It points to everything on the line between the crash site and Mecca . Earlier this year the crazy Dr. Daniel Griffith noted that one of those points turns out to be the Vatican . So what? There is no religion of facing the Vatican for prayer.

The Independent should issue a correction

Given that Doyle's attempt to dismiss the Mecca orientation of the crescent was based on an absurdly wrong factual claim (that the direction to Mecca is the same as the direction to Washington ), the Independent ought to issue a correction, especially given the importance of this error to Doyle's reporting. Without the factual error, his illogical pretense that the Mecca orientation would not matter if the crescent happened to also point to Washington simply disappears. The Mecca orientation would then stand in naked disgrace before the Independent's international readership. Is that enough of a prize to make a serious push for?

Doyle has already been asked for a correction, without reply. Our petition, however, gives us a new tool for dealing with such recalcitrant parties. We are up to about four hundred signers after one week, and over half say they are willing to engage in activist measures like forwarding emails. Maybe this is a good opportunity to fire a test shot, and unload a minor deluge of correction requests on the Independent.

If you want to pitch in, just copy and paste the following short note into an email:
To the Editors of the Independent:

Please correct a glaring factual error in Leonard Doyle's article on the Flight 93 Memorial ("Conspiracy or coincidence? Flight 93 memorial attacked over crescent shape," March 29, 2008). Doyle's reporting of the Mecca orientation of the giant crescent is much appreciated, but he then tries to dismiss the significance of this orientation by making the factually ridiculous assertion that the direction to Mecca from the Shanksville Pennsylvania crash-site is also the direction to Washington:
… someone noticed that the arc actually pointed towards Mecca. The fact that this was also the direction to Washington DC was lost on the conspiracy theorists.
The shortest distance direction to Mecca is to the northeast from Shanksville. Washington is to the southeast.

It is important to correct Mr. Doyle's errant excuse for dismissing the Mecca orientation of the crescent because orientation on Mecca is actually very significant. A crescent that Muslims face into to face Mecca is called a "mihrab" and is the central feature around which every mosque is built. The planned memorial will be the world's largest mosque. Please include this significance of the Mecca orientation in your correction.

Respectfully yours,
If you haven't yet signed our online petition, please give it a look. Also, Tom Burnett Sr. just released a public appeal for people to spread the word about our petition effort. If anyone wants to forward or post Tom's letter, it is available for copy and paste here (scroll to bottom for HTML format).

Glaring omissions in Doyle's report, amounting to cover up.

If the Independent's correction policy extends to dishonest reporting by omission, there are two other key facts, fully known to Mr. Doyle, that the Independent should publish. While he was driving to Shanksville, Mr. Doyle talked to Alec Rawls by telephone for almost a half an hour, mostly about the Mecca orientation of the giant crescent.

Doyle was fully apprised of the double dealing of Memorial Project spokesmen who in private conversation admit the Mecca orientation of the giant crescent and make excuses for it (basically, they all assume it is coincidental), while in the newspapers they deny that the crescent points to Mecca. For example, when Superintendent Hanley was asked directly about the Mecca orientation by a reporter for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette last summer, she claimed that:

"The only thing that orients the memorial is the crash site."

Thus Doyle was fully aware of the controversial nature of the Mecca orientation claim, yet he did not report it as a matter of contention. He reported it as an fact. That means one of two things. When Doyle talked to Hanley (who is quoted in his article), she may have acknowledged the Mecca orientation of the crescent to him. Alternatively, Doyle could have checked the Mecca orientation of the crescent for himself. ( Alec Rawls told him how. It takes literally 2 minutes to verify.)

Which is it Mr. Doyle? Either is explosive and should be reported. If a reporter for a major newspaper verifies for himself that the Flight 93 crescent points to Mecca , he damned well ought to say so! If Memorial Project personnel admitted the Mecca orientation of the crescent, after a long history of denying it in to the press, that is newsworthy!

Why is Doyle holding back? This is cover-up, just like his attempt to dismiss the Mecca orientation with the red herring about the direction to Mecca also being the direction to Washington.

A perverted concept of "balance"?

Doyle's behavior is a puzzle. If he wanted to cover up the Mecca orientation of the crescent, why did he report it at all? In two and a half years, only one other reporter bothered to fact-check and report the orientation of the crescent. (Kirk Swauger at the Johnstown Tribune Democrat wrote last summer that: "[The Mecca orientation claims] seem to be backed up by coordinates for the direction of qibla from Somerset that can be found on Islam.com. When superimposed over the crescent in the memorial design, the midpoint points over the Arctic Circle, through Europe toward Mecca .")

One possibility is that Doyle may be pursuing a perverted concept of balance, akin to the left wing preference for equality of outcomes over equality of opportunity. The facts tilt in favor of the critics of the crescent, so in order to write a story that presents the two sides as equally valid, Doyle buries the facts, not completely, but enough to write a story that does not advantage either side. Of course if the facts went against critics of the crescent, this concept of balance would go out the window (as it should). But when the facts support conservative voices, this perverted concept of balance seems to be a second mode that the West's left wing media falls into.

That's just a theory. Perhaps Mr. Doyle can offer a better explanation. His article is in many ways quite a nice one, telling the story of Flight 93, and of Tom Burnett Jr.'s decision to do something to stop the hijackers. Give Doyle credit also for reporting the most explosive fact (the Mecca orientation). Then he dismisses the Mecca orientation with a completely fraudulent dodge, and omits how the Project has been denying the Mecca orientation for years. Very odd.

Doyle also fails to mention that every particle of the original Crescent of Embrace design remains completely intact in the so-called redesign.

In contrast to his fabricated grounds for dismissing the Mecca-orientation of the crescent, Doyle simply repeats without comment the Memorial Project's claim that the design was changed to remove "any perceptions relating to Islamic symbolism":
The crescent became a circle, with two symbolic breaks, one where visitors will walk along the flight path, the other at the crash scene.
Would it have been too much to note, as was clearly explained to Mr. Doyle, how every particle of the original Crescent of Embrace design remains completely intact in the so-called redesign, which only added a few irrelevant trees to the rear of a person facing into the giant crescent.

The circle is still "broken" in the exact same spots, creating the exact same crescent. This is even how architect Paul Murdoch explains the crescent design: the terrorists broke the circle, turning it into a giant (Mecca-oriented) crescent. The only change in the "redesign" was to include a broken off chunk of the circle, which now floats out behind the mouth of the crescent.

After long conversations with Tom Burnett, Alec Rawls and Bill Steiner (who has been organizing opposition on the ground in Pennsylvania for two years) Doyle actually knows more about the Islamic symbolism in the crescent design than any other reporter who has covered this story. If he would just report the truth, he could do some real good, and advance his own career at the same time, by breaking the story of a lifetime. Instead, he has decided to hide the truth, even using blatant disinformation to do it. Sure looks like ideological bias.

Insist on a correction.

Pardon Ramos and Compean

Agents Ramos and Compean have been serving time because our government did not want our Border Patrol Agents to do their jobs. Now they are behind bars based on the testimony of a lying drug smuggler who was arrested again while awaiting the Ramos and Compean trial. I did not immunity applied to crimes you committed AFTER you received immunity for being an illegal alien and a drugs smuggler.

Our Constitution does guarantee us that the federal gov't will protect us from foreign invasions, but I guess I'm just expecting too much from an incompetent government and an incompetent leader. On with this post.

Now to throw salt into these open wounds, Bush pardons drugs offenders and an embezzler while leaving Ramos and Compean behind in prison! President Bush, are you trying to have NO legacy? It is very spotty at best at this moment.

At The National Center for Public Policy Research there is an article written by David Almasi about this travesty.
"I believe the President's stolid refusal to pardon Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean is the most unconscionable act of disloyalty he has perpetrated upon those sworn to protect our well-being. I know this feeling is shared by many other patriotic Americans," said Project 21 Chairman Mychal Massie. "This sends a disturbing signal to the men and women who protect our borders, not to mention how it must affect the morale of those serving overseas."

On February 17, 2005, Ramos and Compean pursued Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila on foot after Aldrete-Davila abandoned a van containing 743 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $1 million. During the chase, Ramos shot at Aldrete-Davila in the belief that Aldrete-Davila had drawn a gun of his own. Aldrete-Davila escaped across the U.S.-Mexico border, and Ramos assumed Aldrete-Davila was unhurt. In fact, Aldrete-Davila had been shot in the buttock. [Continue reading.]
We are still here, President Bush, and we are not going away. FREE RAMOS AND COMPEAN!

Wednesday's Hero: Captain Daniel J. Burkhart

Captain Daniel J. Burkhart is this week's Wednesday Hero. He is deployed to Afghanistan to train the Afghan Border Patrol. (Be nice if we could have some, but that's a different article.) Here is a little about him.

He is a Captain in US Army, 2/358, who is from West Springfield. He has been awarded the Bronze Star for doing an excellent job while over in Afghanistan, and also for going above and beyond the call of duty.

He has been going to the refugees camps which are little more than mud huts that look as though they had been trampled on so he could help them in their needs, yet he feels as though he receives more from them in return. He brings them gifts from the people here at home send to him, including his Mom who is a big fan of his.

His hope is that when they grow up, they will remember the kindness of the US Military. In this hope, he is solemnly aware of the influence of the Taliban and their teachings. Maybe, just maybe, the hatred of the Taliban will be so at odds with what they know as a fact. If this happens, then the Taliban will be rejected.

He will, in the long run, be very grateful to return home to his new wife and child. They have only been together 27 out of the 40 months of their marriage. He was able to take leave when his daughter was born, but he had to leave six days after. This was one of the hardest things he has ever done. The children in Afghanistan, however, kept reminding of him of how much we in America are blessed. This is a good thing. I have a feeling he will miss these children, too, when he returns home. Read more about him here:

I realize today is Thursday, but I did not want to pass this Hero by. I was up late last night due to technical difficulties, but at least I took the opportunity to introduce to you this Hero. Have a wonderfully blessed day.

Need tech help

I'm using IE 6 on an XP, and I'm not able to go to some sites that I used to be able to read. I did something in Tools, Internet Options, Advanced. I do not remember the changes I made, but I went there after this problem occurred. I'm so screwed!

I have since go back in and changed everything back to default. Of course, I made a few changes after that. The problem I ran into was when you get that white screen that says, 'Refresh', and then it says to check connections and all that other stuff. I really don't like this part about computers.

If there is anyone out there that can and will help me, I surely would appreciate it! Thanks.

10,000; Thank You!

Someone visited me today from one of my other sites, Loving God Holy, and they were the 10,000th visitor! Thanks to all of you who have made this bumpy transition work for me.

This person is from Raleigh, North Carolina. The particular page he/she was interested in is: 4-2 Stryker Brigade expands into all of Diyala province. Please check out this article, along with the site. I really did like the site, it was just too hard for me to keep up with 8 sites. I...um...found out that maybe it would have been easier!

Why? Because each site had its own definition. When you went there, you knew you would find what you had expected. I had Causes of Interest which I share with some fine people. What I used that one for was humanitarian/genocidal dictators/human rights issues.

Then there was the next two: DoD Daily News and DoD Daily News-2. The reason I had two was so that I could say, 'Continue reading' and the other site would have the whole story. I never could figure out how to work that little widget.

Then there was Love America First. I opened this one because I got so tired of all the America haters. I don't believe in sitting around and moping about things I can do nothing about, because I don't believe there are too many things in this world that I cannot help to change! I called on some friends and it grew like wildfire...at first. Then I found myself doing all of the editing, and then I was doing most of the writing. It was still a great site. People still post over there!

The newspaper I tried to get off the ground is Knickerbocker News. I had a few people helping me with this one, too, but let me tell you. It is VERY hard to write an article and keep my big fat mouth out of it. I truly wanted to write as a journalist, and I gave it a go. I did not get discovered, so I got discouraged. All that work for what? (lol)

Of course there is the Loving God Holy. This is where I bare my soul to God. Others may read it, but it is my personal blog. The reason people have to be registered to comment, btw, is because of the spam. I don't like doing that, but it became necessary.

My main blog, though, was My Newz 'n Ideas. I spent a lot of time and thought over there. Sometimes I even felt lonely, because I was not getting any comments. Then the funniest thing happened. I wrote a one line post, and I got lots of comments! WTHey?! Okay, let me get this write. If I don't say anything, you feel more compelled to comment? What, are you sick or something? LOL. I know, sometimes I drift off into other topics. So sue me! (Please don't.)

When I gather all my posts from blogger into one site, I will bring their site-meters with them. Won't that be cool? Well, it's only fair, since I am bringing their posts along with them. Oh, I already said that. Um...what was I going to say?

Oh yes, THANK YOU! Each and everyone.
