FOXNews.com - Dutch Navy Releases Video of Storming of Ship Taken by Pirates.
The Dutch navy released a video Friday of its recent storming of a German ship and the capture of a band of pirates on board.
The ship, the MS Taipan, was rescued April 5 by the Dutch, and 10 pirates were arrested and jailed in the Netherlands.
The gripping video shows the operation from the point of view of one of the military men. Dutch naval captain Col. Hans Lodder has said that, after ascertaining that the Taipan's crew was safe, he launched his ship's Lynx helicopter with a team of six special-forces marines. With troops providing covering fire from the helicopter, the marines landed onto the ship's deck of the MV Taipan, meeting no resistance from the pirates. [Continue reading.]

Nazis, The UN, Jihadis, And Israel
First it was the Nazis, then it was the UN (and still is), now it is the jihadis that are using what they purport to 'laws' against the Jewish people in order to delegitimize them as people and then to exterminate. I choose to stand with Israel. Which side are you on? The side of good and righteousness, or the side of the terrorists? There are no third sides. You cannot sit this one out. It is happening, and history will not allow you the comfort of ignorance.
Italics and bold are mine.
Why not just have a murderer apologize to the other family members and go on his merry way? Oh? Is it because he is more likely than not to commit the same crime against another victim? Or is it because it is the right thing to do? What about justice for the first victim? The silent ones rarely receive justice while the loudmouths get more unjust justice than all the just juctice combined. Where did all these people with no sense of right and wrong come from?
Don't tell me it's the '60's generation, I don't buy that. Why not? Because it's been happening throughout mankind. Please also read his comments on the Goldstone Report. What a joke that turned out to be, and you want to deal with these 'people'? I would expect nothing less from you than to demand the truth. After all, what is justice without truth?

The United Nations apply a Nazi legal system on the Jews
It is becoming common practise for nation states and non-nation actors to apply legal means to achieve political results. Please read the rest of that of that post before continuing. It angers me to no end to know that some people still believe we can actually sit a bully down with its victim and come to a viable agreement that won't be broken the instant these people turn their eyes away. Why do we have prisons?
Known as 'lawfare' these methods have been increasingly applied against Israel.
They are being used as yet another weapon in their armoury to eliminate the Jewish state.
As such, their roots reach back to wartime Germany. Their ultimate application is eerily similar to that created by the Nazis.
Back in the dark days of European history Nazi Germany operated a legal system that gave legitimacy to the machinations of the Third Reich.
The raison d-etre for the Nazi anti-Semitic programs were to remove a stain to world peace, namely the Jews, and to create a new world order.
When Hitler condemned the Jews for all of the world's woes German jurisprudence rubber stamped the measures demanded by its leaders.
The Jews, they claimed, were guilty of the most heinous crimes against humanity and laws were established to deal with these Jewish criminals.
It became legal to deprive Jews of work, to make them wear the Yellow Star, to herd them into Ghettos, to deprive them of their property, to transport them to the death camps, and to execute them.
This was all performed under a veneer of a legal respectability, that everyone involved in this genocide was obeying his duty in law and, therefore, upholding the legal rulings that applied in the territories controlled by Germany.
Records were kept at each stage of the deligitimisation and extermination of the Jews. These records showed that the law was being enforced. The book-keeping was part of the legal system that proved, in Nazi eyes, that everything was being done in a legally-acceptable and systematically transparent manner. German courts upheld the fragmentation of Jewish society and its elimination as required by Nazi law.
Few dared question whether the Jews were truly guilty as charged. The law, and the resultant punishment, took its course - and the rest is history.
At various stages of the 'legal' genocide of the Jews, whether in the Ghettos or the concentration camps, the Germans employed Jews to enforce their actions.
The horrors of the Holocaust should have buried the notion that Jews are the enemy of the world and are easy prey to fanatics and their supporters.
Sadly, the old hatred was merely dormant. It has re awoken in a different form and has found itself coalescing under the auspices of the United Nations.
The year is 2009 and it is happening, again, before our very eyes.

Right now I am so frustrated and angry (ie. frightened) that I am going to refer you to the article I just read in the Wall Street Journal opinion section. I don't know if I can withstand another 9/11/2001. Can you?
Here is the link. Please read this so you know what I am talking about. Talking about "chickens coming home to roost'! This is going to make us more vulnerable, not safe.
Since when does the Commie state of the USSR get a veto over whether we put defensive missiles wherever we need them? Oh, Obama, if you only knew how weak you appear to the entire world. These commies invade Georgia, you want them to sit down and talk. If someone invades my apartment, they're dead. There will be no time for talking. If they were not invited and I don't know them, they are there for one reason and isn't a good one.
You have smacked all of our allies in the face, pretty hard I might add, while at the same time trying to make friends with our enemies. Have you given it ANY thought as to why they are our enemies? Could it be they hate our Republic? Yes, it could. And they love your weakness and feeble mind.
Please remember that you are president of the United States and us alone. Your job is to protect us. If anything happens to us while you are president, I will blame you without forgiveness. What you have done by snatching away our agreement with Poland and the Czech Republic is unconscionable. Please rethink your decision.
Until then, Tea Party On! Also, Congresswoman Richardson (CA-D) of the 37th district was found to be one of the 15 most corrupt people in Congress, but I cannot find the source for that statement. That leaves me with a very difficult question. Should I run for Congress? How do I start an exploratory thingy. (Is that grass roots enough for ya? haha.) Please let me know what you think. It takes money which I don't have. But it also takes passion to do the right thing which I do have. I'll be waiting for your input.

This is a moving video, that is, if you have a heart, if you cherish Liberty, if you demand freedom and justice, if you hate tyrants. I guess I answered my own question. *sigh*
Hat tip: A friend from TweetChat. If the video link doesn't work, go to YouTube and watch it there.
Do not use names on #iranelection, and change your profile before going to TweetChat. Also, change your Avitar to the color green. If you know how to do this, PLZ let me know so I can do that as well. *blush*
I have a question I would like you to ponder. Why is it that Europe, the last people to recognize evil when it's right in front of their faces, has the tenacity and fortitude to invite Marjan Satrapi and Mohsen Makhmalbef in front of their parliament while our president is determined "not to take sides"? Have we all gone mad?
For the sake of clarity, I stand with the Iranian people and against the Iranian regime. Nuf said. Please send up some prayers for our brothers and sisters in Iran. If we all stand together, we can bring down this regime, bring freedom, dignity, Liberty, human rights and justice to the Iranian people without ever firing a shot. Would that be the sweetest victory of all? Have a nice evening.
Don't forget to check out the latest on Winston's site and his Twitter. Very good reporting and updated frequently. (Yes, I've been busy trying to read his posts, Twitter, TweetChat, e-mails, fixing my computer, and getting ready for the July 4th Tea Party. If you have sent me a question or an e-mail, please be patient. I have not forgotten you.)
May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Romanian forces end mission in Iraq
by Sgt. Mark Miranda
1st Armored Division
COB ADDER, Iraq (June 9, 2009) – Military operations in Iraq formally ended for Romanian forces June 4, as one of America's coalition allies prepared to ship out some of its remaining troops with an end-of-mission ceremony held by Romania’s 26th Infantry “Red Scorpions” Battalion.
The Romanian flag was lowered over the 26th’s compound here, affectionately known as “Camp Dracula,” in a ceremony following a memorial for the Romanian military personnel who died in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The ceremony was held just an hour before the U.S. Army 1st Armored Division’s 4th Brigade Combat Team conducted a relief-in-place, transfer-of-authority ceremony with the outgoing 4th Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Cavalry Division.
Romanian President Traian Basescu, who is the supreme commander of Romanian armed forces during wartime, was on hand.
Romanian Lt. Col. Gabriel Toma, commander of the 26th Infantry Battalion, received the U.S. Bronze Star Medal from Army Lt. Gen. Charles H. Jacoby Jr., commander of Multinational Corps Iraq.
“It’s hard to say farewell to a trusted partner,” Jacoby said. “Few have been as committed to freedom of the Iraqi people as the Romanians, and I extend my thanks, as it’s been an honor to serve with them here in Iraq.”
Jacoby praised the Romanians as a dedicated and capable force, and expressed condolences for their lost soldiers.
Since August 2003, Romania has deployed more than 5,200 troops to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Assigned to two different multinational divisions, Romanian forces have provided intelligence support to Multinational Division South by conducting reconnaissance and surveillance missions and operating unmanned aerial vehicle platforms. Romanian forces also provided base security, supply-route security and quick-reaction forces in Basra, and conducted training and monitoring of Iraqi army units, culminating with the May 23 graduation of Iraqi commandos on Camp Ur.

Sunday, June 7, 2009, Lebanon held their elections and the March 14th ticket gained seats in the Parliament for which they are in the majority. The Daily Star has two articles (more actually, but I am going to post one and discuss the other).
How many people knew there was even an election? Oh, I forgot. It's the economy stupid. NOT. This is very important. We are still trying to find the guilty parties behind the assassination of former PM Hariri, Hizbullah is still refusing to give up their war guns, Syria is still messing with Lebanon's affairs, and it is a struggle between those who desire to get on with their freedom and those who desire to take it from them. So this is a very important election.
Let me first explain how the parliament is set up so you will understand the election.
There are 128 seats in Parliament which are divided evenly between Christians and Muslims. One has to be 25 years old to run for office. They are elected to serve a term of four years. For the Muslims, 27 seats go to Sunnis, 27 seats go to Shiites, 8 go to Druze, and 2 go to Alawites. 34 go to the Maronites, 14 to the Greek Orthodox, eight to the Greek Catholics, five to the Armenian Orthodox, one to the Armenian Catholics, one to Evangelicals and one to minority sects. The speaker of the house is always a Shiite.
While we have an electoral college, they have 26 electoral districts. Voter eligibility for this election was 21 years old. However service members were not allowed to participate in the election. If that happened here, I'd be having a protest from now until the day I died, but I do not know the reasoning behind this. Could it be that Hizbullah has infiltrated the military? I don't know.
These are the conditions for this election. There were 587 candidates, voting started at 7 am and lasted until 7 pm, there were 5,200 voting stations, and after voting they had to dip their finger in ink to prove they voted and so they could not vote again (we should do this!).
Now we know some of the basics, let's discuss what happened.
Hat tip: This information came from The Daily Star: Key facts about Lebanon's 2009 elections.

Major challenges await newly elected parliament.

Listen to the Article.
BEIRUT: Lebanese headed to the polls Sunday in crucial parliamentary elections that will determine the country's future for the next four years. Here are some of the challenges facing the 2009 Parliament:
*HIZBULLAH'S WEAPONS
The role of Hizbullah's resistance army is a major bone of contention. March 14 leaders call for a state monopoly on arms, a demand echoed by UN Security Council resolutions. But Hizbullah has sworn to keep the weapons it says are vital to defend Lebanon from Israel.
* RELATIONS WITH SYRIA
Pulling Lebanon from Syria's orbit has been at the heart of March 14's agenda since the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, while many March 8 leaders maintain very close ties to Damascus.
Syria still faces calls from March 14 and the United Nations to demarcate its border with Lebanon. March 14 leaders also accuse Syria of arming Palestinian groups based in Lebanon.
* HARIRI TRIBUNAL
Establishing an international tribunal to try suspects in Hariri's killing was a key goal of anti-Syrian politicians, who blamed Damascus for the killing. The issue aggravated political conflict with Syrias allies in Lebanon.
Plans for the court were never approved by the Lebanese parliament or president. The Security Council voted in May 2007 to set up the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and it began work in March at The Hague. Hizbullah again questioned the neutrality of an international inquiry into the assassination after the tribunal ordered the release of four pro-Syrian generals held without charge since 2005. - Reuters

******************************
With Europe turning to the right and Lebanon turning to the common sense (right), why are we now going to go down the paths these countries have found by trial and error they failed? Just asking.
May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

Syria still faces calls from March 14 and the United Nations to demarcate its border with Lebanon. March 14 leaders also accuse Syria of arming Palestinian groups based in Lebanon.
* HARIRI TRIBUNAL
- Reuters

With Europe turning to the right and Lebanon turning to the common sense (right), why are we now going to go down the paths these countries have found by trial and error they failed? Just asking.
May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

UK vs Geert Wilders' 'Fitna'
Many of my readers are aware of my wrath toward cowards who quiver in the face of threats made to people who choose to retain their free speech in the face of Islamism arrogance. Geert Wilders is a hero in this department, the UK gov't is full of cowards.
Geert has made a documentary named, 'Fitna', which uses the parts of the Koran which the jihadis exploit for political manipulation to warn the west about what is vital to our survival. For this, he is being prosecuted by the Dutch government, thanks to the Muslims who've invaded their country and silenced the good Muslim population.
The UK invited Geert to speak at their showing of this documentay, but a couple of ministries (how ironic, stop using the name 'Ministry'. You are not ministers!) disinvited him because HE is considered a bigger threat to their peace than the jihadis!
So. What to do? I have the documentary for you to watch here. Let them come after me, too. I am not afraid. Ya see, we have this little thing called the 2nd Amendment in America, and I know how to use it to my benefit and protection. I consider a threat from any jihadi to my person and livelihood to be a reasonable enough threat to do my duty for my country. Don't be afraid. Tell me your name and address. Unless, of course, you are cowards like the rest of the jihadis and the UK government...
You may also read The speech Geert Wilders would have given had the UK not been filled with cowards and dhimmis.
BTW, jihadis are those who give Muslims a bad name and make life harder for them. This in no way has anything to do with the good Muslims I know and the good Muslims I do not know. Let's just make this perfectly clear. After 9/11/01, my door and heart was open to any Muslim woman who felt they needed refuge. So don't even go down that road. Jihadis are the racists here, not the American people. It sure would be nice, however, if more American Muslims would stand up against the jihadis.
There are a few that I know of who do a great job of standing up and against the jihadis. Here are their links: The Spirit Of Man, Muslims Against Sharia and American Islamic Forum for Democracy. Check them out and decide for yourself if they are speaking out loudly enough for you. Frankly, I don't believe they are receiving the attention they deserve. There are also many more, but I do not have their links. Thank you, and have a nice day.
May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can walk along side Him again.

It appears to me that our foreign policy is one of paralysis. Why are there no back-up troops in Georgia telling the Soviets to get out? Why is Iran allowed to continue their march to successfully aquire nuclear weapons? Why does North Korea get to keep their weapons while we feed their army? Why is China given the privilege of hosting the Olympics while squashing the free speech of several free-speech countries? Why is everyone treating them with kid gloves when they are using 13 and 14 year old children when the rules demand they are supposed to be at least 16?
Because the Left-Marxists in this country and around the world do not care about such things. They only care about the destruction of America. If anyone requires more proof, just look to the United Nations. That is their tool, right? Well, they are not happy with the Soviets, but they have a veto on everything and anything we try to do to stop their invasion!
Do you hear anyone screaming that the Soviets are fighting a war for oil? Well, that's what they're doing! Have we become so whipped that we cannot see the realities of today? Is it true that we give a hoot about what other people say about us?
I'd rather they feared us the way they fear the Soviets and China! Honestly. If I were president, I would not let these things stand. Forget about the rest of the world. If necessary, kick out everyone who is not a citizen for a while. That would go very far in reducing the federal debt.
As far as what to do about every situation, I have a few ideas. First, I would make sure that North Korean government didn't get another dime. I would drop food all over their country with pamphlets encouraging them to take control of their land. As far as the standing army, I would offer them their families sustanance if they would lay would lay down their arms. If they refused, I would help move the people as far away as they could go for a while. Then I would blow up their reactors. Problem solved.
At the same time I would tell Iran to give up their weapons or face the consequences that have been awaiting them for over three decades. The same idea as with North Korea, help the people who want nothing to do with these scumbags, and the heck with the rest. When, not if, they refuse, there goes most of Iran. End of problem.
Now to address Georgia. Soviets get out or there will be war. Old Europe will no longer be a part of NATO. They are no longer an ally. They have been against us at every turn. What happened to, 'You are either with us or you are with them, but there is no middle ground here.'? They chose their side. It is time to chose ours.
There was a time when our so-called leaders used to not put up with tyrants like this in this manner. What happened? They became paralyzed by the Left and the idea that everyone has to get along. Since when?
PS. I understand my logic may be way off, and that's okay. It's the first plan I've seen so far, so I expect there to be many things incorrect with it. But at least I proposed one. Where is everyone else's?
PSS. I would also flatten Khartoum. No questions asked. No warning. They've had enough time and too many people have been murdered, raped, tortured, etc, and al Qaida is still there in the mountains. Is anyone looking there? No, they are not. Why not? Because the body created for the purpose of preventing another genocide cannot even bring itself to name what is happening Darfur, Sudan, genocide. Shall we just lay down and die for them? Make it easier? NOT ME!
THIS IS A PERSONAL RANT, AND IT DOES NOT REFLECT THE BELIEFS OF THIS SITE (the Talon). I am frustrated over the situations around the world, and it appears no one is paying attention. BTW, Pakistan's government is falling apart as of today. Watch out for something to happen over there.
Elections or no, politics should never govern foreign policy.

Iraqi troops fill Georgians' security role
This is some very good progress that we are seeing. These men not only manned up when the need presented itself, but they handled it in a way that was professional and quick. They wanted to let their other countrymen know that they would not be abandoned. This is a major improvement in the quality of Soldiers we have been allowed to know about. However if you've been reading this for any length of time, you would not be surprised. Good on you, Guys. Now for Sgt. First Class (SFC) Joe Thomson's article.
by Sgt. First Class Joe Thompson
41st Fires Brigade
FOB DELTA — The 32nd Iraqi Army Brigade immediately offered their help to maintain security in Wasit province when word broke of the 1st Georgian Brigade’s departure from Iraq. “We knew it was unfortunate that the Georgians had to leave, but it provided us with the opportunity to take an active role in securing the checkpoints along the main routes in Wasit,” said Brig. Gen. Abed Gabr Mazloum, commander of the 32nd IA Brigade.
Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 20th Field Artillery Regiment are partnering with the IA Soldiers at the checkpoints and patrol bases in Wasit. “We are working hand-in-hand with our Iraqi partners,” said Lt. Col. Timothy Bush, commander, 2-20 FA. “They have the lead in running the traffic control points, and we plan on training them in patrol base operations, temporary traffic control points and presence patrols around their respective patrol bases,” said Bush.
“The people of Wasit need to know that the Iraqi Army is here to help maintain their safety and security, and we are very fortunate to have our great friends, the Americans, by our side in this mission,” said Abed.
Abed began working with Col. Richard M. Francey Jr., commander of 41st Fires Brigade, to develop an actionable plan to sustain the security situation in Wasit. In less than 24 hours, both units sent Soldiers to man the checkpoints and patrol bases previously occupied by the 1st Georgian Brigade.“We began planning with our Iraqi partners to take over the Georgian mission as soon as we found out they may have to go home,” said Francey.
“Brig. Gen. Abed was very supportive in sending Iraqi Army Soldiers out to the different checkpoints to help fill the positions left by the Georgians, ensuring the safe and stable security situation in Wasit remained the same.”
The relationships fostered by the 32nd IA Military Training Team enabled Iraqi and U.S. forces to implement a plan rapidly. The MiTT has been working with the 32nd IA Brigade for the last three months. “The relationships that we have fostered played a vital role in the cooperative effort to take on the immediate security mission in the province,” said Maj. Kirk Calloway, 32nd IA MiTT adviser.
“The Iraqi Soldiers we have been working with have been very eager and professional in improving how they conduct their day-to-day operations,” said Calloway. These positive relationships further ensured a smooth transition of the Georgians’ missions at three checkpoints and Patrol Base Shocker.
“We were able to reposition our forces to enable the Georgians to begin movement back to Georgia in a very short period,” said Maj. E.J. Karlberg, operations officer for the 41st Fires Brigade. “All but a small contingent of Georgians were flown back to Georgia by Monday, and those left behind are working on getting the rest of the Georgian equipment loaded up and sent back home,” said Karlberg.

Georgian troops return to troubled homeland
by John J. Kruzel
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON (Aug. 12, 2008) – The United States has redeployed some 2,000 Georgian troops from Iraq to their home country, where a contingent of fewer than 100 American military personnel remain, a Defense Department spokesman said Tuesday [12 Aug 08].
Pentagon Spokesman Bryan Whitman said the United States, meanwhile, is prepared to provide humanitarian aid to Georgia, where clashes with Russia broke out last week in the breakaway region of South Ossetia in the former Soviet republic and escalated over [the] following days. No humanitarian missions currently are under way, he added.
American C-17s began shuttling the brigade of Georgian forces Aug. 10 and completed the redeployment yesterday, Whitman said. The U.S.-provided transport adhered to an agreement that U.S. and Georgian government officials arranged before Russian tanks and troops crossed Georgia’s border on Aug. 8.
“We are fulfilling our agreement with the Georgian government that in an emergency we would assist them in redeploying their troops,” Whitman said. “We are honoring that commitment, and we are following through with that.” A contingent of fewer than 100 U.S. military personnel remains in Georgia, the Pentagon spokesman told reporters. Some American personnel left Monday, but the forces currently there are safe and accounted for, he added. “They are not involved in the conflict,” he said, “but they are remaining there for now.”

Russia Threatens War Against Georgia
Breaking News
4:52pm UK, Friday August 08, 2008
[Editor's Note: This is a Sky News story.]
Russian tanks have rolled into Georgian territory as fears grow that all-out war will erupt over the breakaway province of South Ossetia.
The Georgian Interior Ministry said Russian forces were in control of part of the South Ossetian capital, Tskhinvali, while Georgia claims it has shot down five Russian warplanes.
The UN Security Council is due to discuss the crisis later.
US President George Bush and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, discussed the issue in Beijing, where they are at the Olympic opening ceremony.
The US State Department called for calm and is sending an envoy to South Ossetia to join international mediation efforts.
Georgia has appealed to international leaders to stop Russian intervention in what began as a conflict between the former Soviet state and South Ossetian separatists.
Russia reported earlier that Georgian artillery shells killed more than 10 Russian peacekeepers, while Georgia accused Russian jets of injuring seven people in a bombing raid.
A United Nations call for an immediate ceasefire between all sides fell on deaf ears.
The UN had earlier failed to reach an agreement on a Russia-drafted statement that would have called on Georgia and separatists region to halt all bloodshed.
South Ossetia and a second rebel Georgian region, Abkhazia - both of which unilaterally broke away from Georgia at the beginning of the 1990s - enjoy Russian political and financial backing.
Speaking from Moscow, Sunday Times correspondent Mark Franchetti said Russia claims it now has no choice but to protect its peacekeepers and Russian citizens in the Georgian province.
Putin: We Will Respond
[Please follow either the link at the beginning or the link at the bottom which says, 'Sky.com News' to view video.]
He said tensions between the Georgians and the Russian-backed South Ossetians had been rising for months.
The presidency of Mikheil Saakashvili - who is viewed in Russia as a stooge of the West - has been a major bone of contention.
"(The Russians) oppose his plans for Georgia to join Nato because they feel the Americans and Nato are encircling Russia," Mr Franchetti said.
A spokesman for the separatists said in Moscow that the offensive had caused "deaths and many wounded".
Skirmishes since last weekend have deepened fears of full-blown conflict in the Caucasus, which is emerging as a vital energy transit route and where Russia and the West are vying for influence.
Georgian troops fire rocket missiles at separatists in South Ossetia.

[Editor's Note: This is a Sky News story.]
Russian tanks have rolled into Georgian territory as fears grow that all-out war will erupt over the breakaway province of South Ossetia.

If the Russians become fully involved, we could see the formation of a material frontier in South Ossetia in the clash between East and West.Prior to Russia's official intervention, witnesses described heavy fighting in Tskhinvali, with the night sky lit blue and red by explosions and Georgian forces appeared to be firing Katyusha rockets.
A spokesman for the separatists said in Moscow that the offensive had caused "deaths and many wounded".
Skirmishes since last weekend have deepened fears of full-blown conflict in the Caucasus, which is emerging as a vital energy transit route and where Russia and the West are vying for influence.
Georgian troops fire rocket missiles at separatists in South Ossetia.

...as most kidney stones do. Let me first give you a clue as to the European media, for those who do not know. Do you believe we have freedom of the press in Europe? Not so! There is a union-controlled by the state-that has to give you the okay for you to write for the AP, IPU, etc. The people in charge of hiring are Marxists or Socialists who hate Capitalism and America. Now that we are square on that, please remember this as you watch this video.
Oh really? Um...now do you understand why there is no good news coming out of either Iraq or Afghanistan? They had to wait for their god to appear.
Now if you ask me, anyone who looks to a politician for all their answers is a NUT. A dangerous one at that. Dear Gerard Baker, you are forgetting one thing. You do NOT get to decide who will be president in America. Get it?
Anyone who parades themselves as the next messiah could be campared to Ahmadinejad as far as his 'seeing' the 12th imam. Not only that, but he claims he IS the 12th imam! This is unacceptable to me, and it should be unacceptable to you too. I do not like McCain, but this only makes me want to work harder to make sure America is never saddled with this person in the WH.
PS. Did you know that Obama has plans to open an office for an Islamic Liason?

Mullen: Timeline for drawdown would be dangerous
by Fred W. Baker III
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON (July 20, 2008) – Setting a timeline for U.S. troop withdrawals from Iraq would be “dangerous,” and troop reductions there should continue to be made based on security conditions on the ground, the nation’s top military officer said Sunday. President Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki this week agreed to set a general “time horizon" for bringing more U.S. troops home from the war, Navy Adm. Mike Mullen said in an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” but he added that to his knowledge, the agreement does not include specific dates. “I think the consequences could be very dangerous in that regard,” he said.
The admiral stressed his view that troop-strength decisions must be conditions-based, but said he wants to see more U.S. forces come home. “I think the strategic goals of having timed horizons are ones that we all seek,” he said, “because eventually we would like to see U.S. forces draw down and eventually all come home,” he said.
Though he said he worries that a “rapid” movement of U.S. forces out of Iraq could create instability, Mullen said he found during a trip there two weeks ago that security conditions were better than he expected they would be, and that could mean more troops can come home if the trend continues. “If conditions continue to improve, I would look to be able to make recommendations to President Bush in the fall to continue those reductions,” Mullen said.
With the return home this month of the last “surge” brigade, commanders will spend the next several weeks assessing post-surge conditions in Iraq, including political and economic progress, before making their recommendations concerning future troop levels. “We’re engaged very much right now with the Iraqi people,” Mullen said. “The Iraqi leadership is starting to generate the kind of political progress that we need to make, [and] the economy is starting to move in the right direction.”
The admiral said he doesn’t know if that means more troops could be home by the end of this administration in January. Logistics and other security details would factor into that, he explained. “There is a physical challenge with respect to moving troops around,” he said. “You just can’t do it overnight.”
Asked about recent struggles in Afghanistan, Mullen said safe havens across the border in Pakistan are allowing extremist groups free movement into the region. “[It] is [a] big challenge for all of us, and it’s having an impact on our ability to move forward in Afghanistan,” he said. A “syndication” of various extremist and terrorist groups in the region is creating a more intense internal threat, the chairman said, and recent attacks have become more serious and sophisticated, such as the attack last week on an outpost in which nine U.S. soldiers were killed. However, he said, commanders on the ground say that forces are making progress and moving into villages and territories previously out of reach.
Mullen acknowledged that progress has been mixed, but he said he is “not concerned at all that we are losing at all in Afghanistan.”Concerning Iran, Mullen said he is “encouraged” by talks between Iran and the European Union yesterday in Geneva, Switzerland, and that the international community needs to continue its pressure on Iran’s nuclear weapons development program. “I fundamentally believe that they are on a path to achieve nuclear weapons in the future,” he said. “I think that’s a very destabilizing possibility in that part of the world. We don’t need any more instability in that part of the world.”

Okay, so you know if Iran gets nuclear weapons it will bring "instability" to the region and beyond. So what is so darned encouraging about having talks with the Europeans ONE MORE TIME? They have used these Europeans for God only knows how long to what end? MORE TIME TO BUILD THEIR NUCLEAR WEAPONS, PERHAPS? You don't have to be a rhode scholar to figure this one out. There really is only one question...when are we going to put a stop to it? You do know that they are killing our sons and daughters and running back to Iran, don't you? When did that stop being an act of war? I don't mean to question your manhood, but have you checked down there lately? We've been waiting and talking and sanctioning since 1979. Do ya think maybe, just maybe, it's time to act?

Joint UK-Iraqi operation meeting security goals
MNF-I.
BASRA, Iraq (June 27, 2008) — Operation Charge of the Knights, a joint operation involving UK Soldiers and the Iraqi Army, which aims to restore order and improve security in Basra, is making further progress. The Iraqi Army continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving the security situation in the city, carrying out a number of vehicle check points in recent days. Inspections were carried out on a number of vehicles which were going in and out of the city. In addition, numerous house searches were carried out, leading to multiple arrests of suspected militants. Troops also found 140 rounds of 150mm high explosive shells in one area of Basra.
Operation Charge of the Knights, which began in March, is now into its 14th phase. The operation has been one of the key drivers in bringing peace and stability to the streets of Basra in recent months. Elements of the Iraqi Army and Iraqi Police Service, with their US and UK Military Transition Teams (MiTTs), can now be seen working in the city. The MiTTs are working closely with the Iraqi Security Forces and local contractors as pavements are replaced, sewers cleared and rubbish removed from the streets.
In addition, elements of the 26th of 7th Division and the 50th, 51st, and 52nd Brigades from the 14th Division Iraqi Army have conducted a number of arms finds and arrests, with teams planning the operations without UK assistance. "Once again this operation was fully planned and executed by the Iraqi Army," said Maj. Tom Holloway, spokesman for the Multi-National Division - South East. "These operations demonstrate their capability, professionalism and commitment to the residents of Al Basrah Province. It is enormously encouraging to see the progress made by the Iraqi Army in maintaining the security of the city and its residents." [...] "Iraqi confidence and capabilities are improving by the day with our help," he continued. "The overall feeling here is upbeat and cautiously optimistic. We will continue to push for security of Basra by helping the Iraqi Army."
The 50th, 51st, and 52nd Brigades continue to be mentored by their respective UK MiTT. The MiTTs are embedded with their Iraqi counterparts offering advice and guidance on request. MiTT responsibilities are currently undertaken by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, 2 Royal Anglian, 9th and 12th Royal Lancers and 4th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland. All are part of 7th Armoured Brigade on Op Telic 12.

Columbia rescues 15 hostages from FARC

This is a wonderful day. Today we are receiving the news that three of our men that were taken hostage in February 2003 when their plane crashed while doing survellance and recon for the narco squad were finally freed. There was also a French presidential candidate among them, along with 11 Columbian police and military personnel.
The names of our three freed hostages are Marc Gonsalves, Thomas Howes and Keith Stansell. They were U.S. military contractors. I believe they also had prior military experience, but please don't quote me on that.
Marc Gonsalves' father was mowing the lawn when he learned of his son's release. He was in shock, so much so that he couldn't even turn off the lawn mower. Apparently he had forgotten how! His father lives in Hebron, Conn.
Thomas Howes is a native of Chatham, Mass, and his niece, Amanda Howes, proclaimed that this rescue redefines the word, 'Miracle'.
Keith Stansell's family lives in Miami, Fla. All together, they were taken to Lackland Air Force Base at around 11pm Tuesday night so they could receive medical treatment and answer some questions. Always with the questions, right? lol.
There was also a French woman by the name of Ingrid Betancourt who is the lady I referred to earlier as the lady who was a presidential candidate many years ago.
Many people were grumbling that we were not concerned, but little did they know all the efforts that were going on behind the scenes. President Bush has been working to bring our men home ever since their plane went down.
The Columbian president, A. Uribe, Defense Minister Juan Manuel Santos, and some in the White House had been planning rescue for many years, but it was very dangerous. Sometimes they would have them in their eyes only to find that by the time the orders came, the FARC thugs had already disappeared into the jungle.
There are many great articles written already. One of them is 3 rescued US hostages arrive safely in Texas, of TriCityHerald.com by Elizabeth White. Theodore's Place also has post: Hostage Rescue from Columbia ~ 3 U.S. Defense Department Contract Workers and Others. The CounterTerrorismBlog also has news about this: Colombia Rescues Ingrid Betancourt and Three US Hostages. I highly recommend this one, because they do not need the AP for their information. They have their own knowledge and sources. This was written by Jonathan Winer.
This is truly a magnificant Independence Day gift, and it is a very remarkable job that the Columbia Army performed. Thank you, Columbia, from those of us with a sane brain in the US of A!
VIVA COLUMBIA! VIVA COLUMBIA! VIVA COLUMBIA!
May you walk with the LORD always, and when you cannot take another step, may He carry you the rest of the way until you can.

Bush thanks Germans for help
by Jim Garamone
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON, June 11, 2008 – President Bush Wednesday thanked the German people for their help in Afghanistan and Iraq, following discussions with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Meseberg, Germany. Bush thanked the German people for their efforts in Afghanistan, and he noted that the deployment is not popular in their country. “I hope when the Afghanistan debates go forward, people here think of young girls who couldn't go to school in the past but now can, or think of mothers who bring their babies to health clinics for the first time, [or] think about farmers who now have got access to markets to help deal with food shortages,” Bush said. “This is hard work -- I understand that -- to help a young democracy grow after years of tyranny. But I believe it's necessary work.”
Bush also thanked Germany for contributions to Iraq. “This has obviously been a contentious issue between our countries in the past, but what shouldn't be contentious is the mutual desire to help advance freedom in the Middle East as the great alternative to the ideology of the haters and the murderers -- those who espouse violent extremism to advance their agenda,” the president said. Bush told reporters that the United States will forge a strategic agreement with Iraq. “I strongly support the agreement, because I think it helps send a clear message to the people of Iraq that [the] security you're now seeing will continue,” Bush said. “One of the lessons of Iraq is that, in order for a democracy to develop or in order for an economy to develop, there has to be a measure of security, which is now happening. So I think we'll get the agreement done.”
The president reiterated that the agreement will not involve permanent U.S. bases, nor will it bind any future administration to troop levels. Bush said Iraqi leaders appreciate U.S. presence in the country, and that Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki “understands that we're returning on success. As the situation merits and the situation improves, we're bringing our troops home,” the president said. Bush and Merkel also talked about the Middle East and the problem that Iran’s push for nuclear weapons poses for the world.
Merkel said the leaders discussed the “offers we put on the table to Iran, but also the fact that if Iran does not meet its commitments, then further sanctions will simply have to follow.” The chancellor said Germany wants to leave room for a diplomatic solution with Iran. Bush said he also wants a diplomatic solution with Iran, but refused to take any options off the table. The president said he wants the United States and the European Union to work closely together on Iran. The message to leaders in Tehran, he said, is that if they verifiably suspend the uranium enrichment programs, they will end their isolation. “Obviously, we want to solve this issue peacefully, and so we'll give diplomacy a chance to work,” he added.
But Iran has so far disregarded that message. “It's a bad choice for the Iranian people,” the president continued. “The Iranian people deserve better than being isolated from the world. They also deserve better than having their government regarded as “unsafe and not trustworthy,” he said.

Iran and the Problem of Evil
Michael Ledeen is a renowned scholar on this topic. He has written a well reasoned and thoughtful article for the Wall Street Journal about the situation we find ourselves in today by looking to the past.
What happened? Why did it happened? Could we have stopped it? Why are we not seeing it again? You may read his article here.
This time we have no excuse for our own ignorance if we are destroyed by polical correctness or denial of the truth which is right in front of our faces (and ears), and it could even lead to our very demise. Yes, I recommend you read it.

I had written a whole post about the disconnect between London's Mayor Livingston and Mayor Boris Johnson. The bottom line? Newly elected CONSERVATIVE Mayor Johnson told chavez to take a hike, after defeating LIBERAL Livingstone was accepting kickbacks to keep a PR office open in London and an office in Venezuela. The article can be found at the Opinion Journal section of the Wall Street Journal titled, "No Mas." He also has a few words, as do I, for some of our representatives in Massachusetts.
Side note: If we are so hated the world over, why do Conservatives seem to keep winning? Hmm??? ;)
Why the summary? Because the article I wrote was a little lengthy, and someone come and moved my CPU in the middle of my work. My CPU is rather sensitive, and it became 'unplugged'. Did I lose everything I was on at that time? YES!!! Ugh! (I forgive that person. It's only a story.)
This is an open trackback post. Feel free to put your best, funniest, or misc. work here. Share it with others. Not familiar with trackbacks? First, choose the article you want to promote. Copy/paste my permalink (URL) to your post. Then send a trackback to me. Don't have one? You can use Wizbang Standalone Trackback Pinger. Otherwise, leave a comment for me with the permalink for your post, the name of your blog, and a small excerpt, and I will add it to the list. There are three trackbacks which I recommend: Open Trackback Alliance, (host an open trackpost) and Linkfest Haven Deluxe for more information.

Atrocities in-the-name-of abortion
As I was seeking research about the 15 dead in a gang shoot-out near the Mexican border, I came across this tragic death of a 15 year old child who died due to an abortion. I have the story for you below.
******************************
Dead at 15.
Teenager first mother to die from legal abortion in Mexico City.
Ten months after Mexico’s capital city legalized abortion for any reason before the twelfth week of pregnancy, the new law has claimed its first mother – a 15-year-old girl.
Vianney “N” died on Feb. 15 at Balbuena Hospital from a hemorrhage that occurred when her baby was being sucked out of her by the aspiration method of abortion.
“Authorities were worried about the public repercussions of this case, almost a year after the penal code reform was approved, because they think anti-abortion groups will use it as a battle flag to repeal the law without considering the numerous successful cases,” the Mexico City daily El Universal reported on Feb. 20.
The “successful cases” mentioned in the story include 5,845 unborn children who were killed legally by abortion in the 10 months since April 2007.
Proponents claimed legalized abortion would protect women from the inadequate medical and sanitary conditions of clandestine abortions. But, according to the Federal District Health Department, Vianney arrived at the hospital suffering from acute anemia two days before her abortion and nothing was done about it by those responsible for her care. So, when the hemorrhage began, Vianney’s situation rapidly deteriorated, and she died.
Another aggravating factor was that the girl was in her 16th week of pregnancy, way beyond the 12-week limit established by the changes in the penal code.
The physician who performed the abortion didn’t verify through an ultrasound exam the gestational age of the unborn child, as the abortion law mandates, nor did he check the patient’s general health status before the abortion.
The law that permitted the abortion applies only to the Federal District, which includes Mexico City. Last September, two very important institutions – the National Human Rights Commission and the federal Attorney General’s Office -- challenged the constitutionality of the law before the Supreme Court based on provisions in the Mexican constitution that recognize and protect human life from the moment of conception. The Supreme Court is expected to announce its decision any day now.

Center Applauds Landmark Abortion Decision by European Court of Human Rights.
[March 22, 2007]
The European Court of Human Rights held on March 20, 2007, for the first time, that governments have a duty to establish effective mechanisms for ensuring that women have access to abortion where it is legal. The case centers on the tragic story of Alicja Tysiąc, a Polish woman who nearly went blind because she was forced to continue a pregnancy that threatened her health. "There are thousands of women who are denied access to abortions they need and are legally entitled to in Poland every year," said Christina Zampas, Senior Legal Adviser for Europe at the Center. "This decision means that the Polish government—and other governments in Europe—must take steps to make sure that women like Tysiąc don't needlessly suffer at the whim of doctors."

How long must we sit silently by and weep at the loss of our young? Our most innocent, our most precious, our most promising? THIS is something worth protesting. You don't have to be religious to understand that this is wrong. This is a world-wide attempt to take control of all governments and all people. I, for one, refuse to capitulate!
So what can we do and why? You are concerned about your Social Security, eh? You have stood by while the next generation was slaughtered. I wouldn't say too much if I were you. If there's no money, it's because our children are all dead, murdered. There is no one to do the work. So, bring in the illegal aliens? HELL NO! Period.
We have opened our doors to our country for far too long, and we have learned (at least some of us have learned) that not everyone likes us. In fact, they want to KILL US, they want to take over our country. If you are too ignorant or too busy to see this or care, then shut up. What makes you think your voice matters now that your time has run out?
Am I angry? Yes. I am. This is one more child that did not have to die. Why didn't someone teach her that women do not have to have sex to impress a boy? Why didn't they teach her that if your boyfriend leaves you because you won't have sex him, he is a scumbag and you deserve better than that! Why are we not teaching our daughters the TRUTH? WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT THIS? He is crying over every loss. Yet, if you had an abortion and are truly sorry, you may seek forgiveness from Jesus.
Yes, it is true. He died for our sins, all of them. He did not pick and choose which sins He would die for and which ones He would not! That feeling of guilt, that feeling of overwhelming shame, He can heal you. He will and He wants to. Just reach part of the way, and He will you up the rest of the way. But you must admit your sins to Him. Do not worry. There is not one thing on this earth that is left unknown to Christ! He is calling out to you. Will you answer His call?
May God bless everyone, and may He heal our land and our souls.
