Candidate Star Parker's Commentaries

This is one brilliant lady, and we are so fortunately to finally have someone who will represent us. She does many things in the private sector, and one of those things is writing commentaries.

July 4th Tea Party Coming Up

For everyone who has questions, I'm trying to find the answers. So far this is what we know.

Matthew Perdie, who has walked 3600 miles across America talking to REAL people, shall be in the home stretch early July. We are trying to raise enough money for his parents and him to stay in a hotel. Five dollars would be better than nothing, I always say. :)

We will meet at Memorial Park for a picnic around 4 pm. Then we will walk the rest of the way with Matthew to show him our support. We will end up at the Santa Monica Pier for a Tea Party at 6 pm. Matthew, of course, will be one of the speakers.

Please wear your walking shoes! We do not want anyone to feel pain during this event. If you cannot walk this distance, please meet us at the Pier.

Speakers, music, entertainment, etc has been taken care of by the Pasadena Patriots Tea Party - Matthew Perdie. The media will be there this time, even if it is only FOX TV. (I'm trying to PJTV.com to come.) They have done an excellent job, as usual.

No ride? Call Metro. It's on one of the first pages of the schedule.
No idea how to get there if you're driving? Try Google maps. If you do not know how to use this, put in your search engine "google maps". When that screen appears, choose the one that is not advertised. Below is a wonderful message to all Americans, not your normal blame America hogwash. It is very beautiful, and you will see why I enjoy and love these brothers and sisters of Project 21 so dearly. I hope you are moved as well.

Juneteenth Civil Rights Holiday Observed With Future Freedom At Risk

Washington, D.C. - On the occasion of "Juneteenth" -- the oldest and most recognized annual commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States -- members of the Project 21 black leadership network assert the civil rights-themed holiday should be used to reflect on past struggles for freedom and how to expand and protect hard-won liberties and opportunities at a time when they may be on the wane.

Project 21 members have commemorated Juneteenth since 1999, urging black Americans to use the observance of Juneteenth to embrace their inherent talents and strengthen ties with family and community.

"Juneteenth is a time to reflect on where we as blacks have been and a time to conduct an azimuth check on where we are going," said Project 21 member R. Dozier Gray. "It is a time for reflection. It is a time for clarity. It is a time to count the ways in which we are free and to take measure of the chains that still bind us. It is a time to take stock of ourselves -- as men, as husbands, as women, as wives and sons and daughters. It is a time to plot a course to freedom from debt, immorality and lethargy. No one ever truly freed a man but himself, just as no one ever really enslaved a man but himself."

In the course of the past year, government spending and government control greatly expanded and the nation's economic well-being is now at risk. The passage of ObamaCare, which will result in the takeover of much of the nation's private health care system, and ongoing attempts to impose a "cap-and-trade" energy policy will lead to decreased liberty and increased oversight over and cost to the average American in the future. That makes this year's Juneteenth commemoration the most important in many years.

Project 21 fellow Deneen Borelli added: "Juneteenth is a special day for blacks to commemorate liberty. Liberty offers us the opportunity to use our talents to pursue happiness and success. With this in mind, we must seek self-reliance and rely on hard-work as a means to achievement -- avoiding government programs that create dependency."

Juneteenth commemorates the anniversary of the June 19, 1865 arrival of Union soldiers in Galveston, Texas. The soldiers carried the news that the Civil War was over and that President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation had abolished slavery two-and-a-half years earlier.

The annual commemoration became known as Juneteenth and quickly became a stabilizing as well as motivating presence in the lives of black Americans in Texas, who faced many uncertainties associated with newly-acquired freedom. The observance quickly spread from Texas to be recognized across the United States.

Juneteenth is celebrated in many ways, but education and self-improvement have been consistent themes at commemorative community gatherings and picnics in recent years. In 1980, Juneteenth was made an official holiday in Texas. Currently, 35 states recognize Juneteenth as a state holiday or observance.

Jihadis Return To Chicago For Recruiting

The following is a message I've received from one of my Muslim friends. A radical group of jihadis with ties to al Qaida is returning to Chicago with the intent of recruiting more jihadis on July 11, 2010. Does that date mean anything to you? Think England...bus bomb attack...tick tock...Pay attention.

The radical Islamist group that kicked up controversy for its "Fall of Capitalism & Rise of Islam" conference last year is slated to return to Chicago next month to hold its second Khilafah Conference, "Emerging World Order: How the Khilafah Will Shape the World."

They're back. A radical Islamist group critics say has links to Al Qaeda is gearing up to host its second annual U.S. recruiting event.

The group, Hizb ut-Tahrir America, which is committed to establishing a caliphate, or international Islamic empire, kicked up controversy in Chicago last year with its first U.S. conference, "Fall of Capitalism & Rise of Islam."

Speakers at the conference blamed capitalism for everything from two World Wars to Michael Jackson's decision "to shed his black skin." It drew more than 500 attendees, dozens of protesters and a heavy police presence.

Now the group is coming back to the Windy City with its second conference, "Emerging World Order: How the Khilafah Will Shape the World," scheduled to begin July 11 at the Chicago Marriott Oak Brook. According to a video promoting the event, the goal is to persuade attendees to "answer the call" to "join the campaign" for a Khilafah, or global Islamic empire.

Despite the charged message, the group insists that it advocates change only through nonviolent means.

Terrorism "is not in our dictionary," spokesman Mohammad Malkawi told reporters last year. "We condemn it by all means … From our perspective, our records are clean on this issue."

But some experts say the group's rhetoric masks its true role: preparing the infantry for groups like Al Qaeda by indoctrinating young jihadists.

"Hizb ut-Tahrir realized that U.S. laws, in this stage, allow them to work undetected as long as they use a narrative that fools the public and law enforcement," Walid Phares, director of the Future of Terrorism Project at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told FoxNews.com.

He said the group's vision of a worldwide caliphate is "is identical to the Taliban regime but spanning on three continents, as a first stage."

Former Hizb ut-Tahrir member Ishtiaq Hussain agreed.

"They don't believe Israel should exist, some of their leaders have denied the Holocaust, and they believe homosexuals should be thrown off the highest building," Hussain, now a trainer for the Quilliam Foundation, told FoxNews.com. "... It's actually a very dangerous group."

Phares said Hizb ut-Tahrir's list of alumni -- including confessed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Al Qaeda in Iraq's onetime leader, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi -- speaks for itself.

"The bottom line here," he said, "is that we are witnessing the emergence and the expansion of a jihadist recruitment factory in our midst, openly calling for jihad and for the establishment of a caliphate instead of many governments... and in its last stage to what they call jihadism against America and its allies, that is, technically speaking, terrorism and massacre."

Hizb ut-Tahrir America did not respond to requests for comment sent by e-mail. The group's website lists neither a phone number nor a mailing address.

At a recent conference in the United Kingdom, Hizb ut-Tahrir spoke directly against the U.S., mocking Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's warning of severe consequences if a Pakistani connection to the Times Square bomber was discovered, and contending that the U.S. was behind terror attacks in Pakistan.

Whether there will be similar rhetoric at next month's conference in Chicago is unclear. Unlike last year, the group has no itinerary laid out on its website for this year's conference.

The Chicago Marriott Oak Brook confirmed that it would be hosting the conference, but it would not comment on whether it had reviewed the group or was aware of its specific plans for the conference.

But news of the hotel chain's hospitality came as a surprise to the Florida Security Council, which said the Marriott of Delray Beach, Fla., backed out of hosting one of its events last year when it planned to honor an anti-jihadism advocate.

The group, which aims to raise awareness of security threats facing Florida and the U.S. by "radical, supremist, Muslims," and "Latin American totalitarianism," is now suing the Marriott for breach of contract.

"You let lunatics come into your hotel, and then you have people trying to defend the United States of America and you throw them out … the double standard is glaring and obvious and absurd," Florida Security Council Director Tom Trento told FoxNews.com.

Marriott's Corporate Office did not respond to requests for comment on the Hizb ut-Tahrir conference or the Florida case.

But Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, President of American Islamic Forum for Democracy, said he thinks the decision of whether or not to host an event like this should be left to the hotel.

"It [Hizb ut-Tahrir] is a conveyor belt to terror, there's no doubt about it, but the issue is if we're going to change these hearts and minds and we're going to prevent the future Nidal Hassans of the world, we're not going to do it by making these types of things illegal," Jasser told FoxNews.com.

Instead, Jasser said, the U.S. needs to "start to provide Muslim youth an alternative to where America is not demonized but where we change the narrative and start to promote groups that are reformist."

"I'd like us to debate them publicly in order to prove how invalid their ideas are rather than shut them down and make them into victims," he said. "…I think it's the type of thing we need to expose."

Hizb ut-Tahrir America, meanwhile, is seeking some exposure of its own.

A YouTube video advertising the conference has more 13,000 views, a Facebook page promoting the event has more than 2,400 fans, and countless supporters in the U.S. and abroad have "Tweeted" and "ReTweeted," news of the upcoming conference, extending Hizb ut-Tahrir America's reach far beyond its known followers.

With an 11,000-square-foot ballroom reserved at the Marriott, it apparently expects to acquire many more in Chicago next month

A national Democratic Party official e-mailed around a set of talking points about an hour ago, under the subject heading, “Etheridge Gotcha Video Background.”

Democrats are seeking to raise questions about the video, which first appeared on Andrew Breitbart’s Big Government, because of what’s widely viewed as the media’s mishandling of the ACORN story, which emerged without context from edited videos. In particular, party officials say the video was likely taken by a tracker for the Republican Party, which would explain the effort taken to conceal his identity.

No Help For The South: RACISM

I've finally figured it out. Most (if not all) of these states have Republican Governors. This must be because Obama THINKS these states are all white! Not true! Needless to say, the press would only go that route if it were a Republican in the White House. Evidence? Katrina.

Am I serious? No. That's not I believe. I believe Obama is incompentent, not racist. At least as far as I know. This is a pushback against the so-called press. Why is it taking you so long to get on his 'ass' about not doing anything so that the marshes, the beaches, the fisheries, etc. are not destroyed?

This is much more of a disaster than Katrina was. This is going to affect the economy for decades, not to mention jobs, people, lost lives, lost businesses, lost wetlands, lost fish, lost dolphins, lost whales, lost beaches, lost tourism, and more. This is unacceptable.

Now that there's a second leak, will he act? Will you? You claim, as does he, that he has been on top of this before we talking heads. Oh really? I started at day one. When did he show up? THREE WEEKS LATER. Did you remark on that?

No, you did not remark on this. You always give him a pass. What are you, afraid? Bought? Or are you just prejudiced against Republicans? Prejudism is a horrible thing, and that is why we don't put up with it...no matter where it comes from. Even if it comes from you, the high-and-mighty so-called press.

THIS is what President George W. Bush was referring to when he coined the term 'soft bigotry of lower expectations'. Obama would not be president if only black people voted for him. Get over yourselves. We expect him to act just as well as any other American president, sparing a few.

GET WITH IT, WILL YA? Hey, maybe then people may actually watch you and read your papers?! Until then, you are worthless. Have a nice worthless life.

Star Parker For Congress!

As some of you may know I was running for Congress in CA-37 until I learned Star Parker had decided to run. I love this lady, and no politics is going to make me speak a bad word toward or about her. I dropped my candidacy to support Star, and I hope you will support her as well.

This past May 26, we had a bbq. Star turned out to be the keynote speaker whether or not it was scheduled that way. Star is so wonderful that she brightens up every room she enters.

Voters Guide: Primary 2010

Hi. Just in case you are wondering in which way others are voting, I am going to share with my Republican friends how I plan to vote. I have to only share with them because that is the way it is set up, and I like it this way. Would you want Conservatives voting on the Democrat ticket? Then why bother having any differences?

I guess I have that Prop 14 under my skin. How many of you know that it is on the ballot by the government and no one had to collect signatures? Ah, that's what I thought. These greasy scumbuckets think we're stupid. Let us show them we're not. What's more, let's remove them from office and put them in the unemployment line!

Okay, now I got that off my chest, we can get down to business.

This is for people who live in the state of California and Assembly District 54 and Congressional District 37.

GOVERNOR: Steve Poizner.

LT. GOVERNOR: Sam Aanestad

SEC of STATE: I'm not sure. I'm leaning toward Orly Taitz. If anyone can show my why Dunn is a better choice, I'm open to listening. The Christian election forum has 2 thumbs up for Damon Dunn, so I'll do some more research on him.

UPDATE: I have been contacted by several of Orly's supporters and Orly herself. I'm sorry to say that it was only to show what they perseved as Damon Dunn's shortfalls. Was he registered as a Democrat for sometime in his life? Yes. Is he a registered Republican now? Yes. Do we never forgive people for seeing the light? YES, we do. Do we like it when you people do not tell us more about themselves rather tearing down their opponent? NO. Therefore I will be supporting Damon Dunn. Sorry Orly, but I hate politics as usual. Did you learn nothing from the Tea Parties? *sigh*

Attorney General: JOHN EASTMAN. This is only candidate who actually KNOWS the Constitution and will apply it for WE THE PEOPLE and not the politicians.

INSURANCE COMMISSIONER: Brian Fitzgerald. Villines is a tax-increaser.

Member State Board of Equalizer: NO ONE BOTHERED TO RUN. That is how we keep getting stuck with Democrats.

US SENATOR: Chuck DeVore.

US House of Representatives: STAR PARKER!!! Vote for her, please. I dropped out of the race to support her. I was NOT offered a job when I did it, since she knew nothing of me. And she has too much character to even try to play a democrat game. She has more class in her little finger than Laura Richardson ever could achieve had she wanted to.

Member of State Assembly: Martha E. Flores-Gibson

Party Central Committee: John Cozza. I've left him a message to see who else is a Conservative. Otherwise, I'm only voting for him. If you do not know who you are voting for, then please do not fill out all seven. You do not have to do that. Only vote for those you know to be Conservatives. Are we not tired of business as usual? You bet!

Superintendent of Public Instruction (School): Dianne A. Lenning. I know her from coming to our Tea Party. Her love for the Military and children instead of government gives her much to proud of.

13: Proposition 13, if approved by the state's voters, will prohibit tax assessors from re-evaluating new construction for property tax purposes when the point of the new construction is to seismically retrofit an existing building. If successful, it will amend Section 2 of Article XIII A of the California Constitution.
California state senator Roy Ashburn is the amendment's primary sponsor.

Heck NO. WAIT! I've just read it again, and it does not say what I thought it did. I thought it would only apply to new construction. Of course, they have to retrofit the house, duh. It's part of the code. Since it is part of the code it is like the federal govt telling California we have to do something that costs a lot of money. Who the heck are they to demand we pay money for their friends benefit???

Police Quash Tiananmen Memorials

China blocks efforts to commemorate the 1989 massacre in Beijing of pro-democracy demonstrators.

HONG KONG—Attempts to stage public events and protests commemorating the 21st anniversary of the military crackdown on the 1989 student-led pro-democracy movement in Beijing's Tiananmen Square have been largely thwarted by Chinese authorities, activists said.

"The Chinese government continues to refuse to openly and truthfully address the events of June 4, 1989, and persists in its efforts to silence Chinese citizens who seek to commemorate the massacre," the nongovernment network Chinese Human Rights Defenders (CHRD) said.

Activists using the microblogging service Twitter said a planned commemorative event on the campus of Beijing University, one of the centers of the student movement two decades ago, had failed owing to the presence of large numbers of state security police.

"I am at the Beijing University campus," tweeted user PKUbuzheteng Thursday. "Looking at the current situation, it seems that the protest event hasn't been able to proceed."

Twitter users had called on netizens to arrive wearing the mourning color white at the university campus on June 3 to mark the night of the beginning of the advance on the student headquarters by the People's Liberation Army.

"It seems that they have stationed one national security policeman at the gate, with others walking around the place in all directions," PUKbuzheteng wrote.

'Scuffles,' detentions reported.

And Twitter user freemoren reported "scuffles between police and bystanders" outside the Great Hall of the People and numerous government departments, including the ruling Communist Party's powerful central propaganda department.

Police in Beijing detained six artists ahead of the anniversary as they staged public memorial events for the crackdown outside the capital's Museum of Fine Arts, including a sit-in and a signature campaign, artist Zhu Yanguang said.

Earlier this week, a cartoon entered for a competition which depicted a child drawing a line of tanks stopped by a single person at the Southern Metropolis Daily newspaper was removed from the paper's Web site.

"We decided pro-actively to remove the cartoon as it was being maliciously misread and misunderstood by some people, leading to a negative influence," an employee at the newspaper said.

"There was no question of being put under pressure."

But Beijing-based dissident Jiang Qisheng said the government had been obsessive about suppressing any mention of the crackdown for 20 years.

"I see the event as the massacre of poor people by an army, but the government thinks that it was right and proper to kill them," Jiang said.

"But it still won't come out and admit it."

Hong Kong criticized.

Accusing police across China of "harassing and intimidating activists against speaking out as June 4 approaches", CHRD said that at least four Beijing-based individuals are still serving jail sentences for their participation in the 1989 protests.

It added that a further three activists had been sent to labor camp last year for their attempts to mark the 20th anniversary of the crackdown, which officials refuse to discuss openly, and which left hundreds, perhaps thousands, dead and an unknown number injured.

It slammed the seizure by Hong Kong police of two replicas of the 1989 Goddess of Democracy statue ahead of memorial events, which have taken place in the territory every year, calling it "an unprecedented act of interference with the territory’s commemorative activities."

Hong Kong activists were in uproar on forums and microblogging services after the territory's Chinese University of Hong Kong refused to allow a sculpture of the Goddess to be displayed on campus, citing a need for political neutrality.

They called on people attending Saturday's memorial service in Victoria Park to carry the statue to the campus in protest after the event was ended.

Hong Kong Democratic legislator James To also hit out at the government's deportation of New Zealand national Chen Weiming, who sculpted the statue.

"The government is obviously playing dirty tricks and this must be condemned," To told local media. "I think it is playing dirty tricks."

"[I] believe that all the government has done is to suppress the June 4 remembrance activity ... I think the government is to be condemned," he said.

Hong Kong Security Secretary Ambrose Lee denied the charges, saying that the immigration authorities had acted fully in compliance with the law.

He said police had already returned the confiscated statues to the memorial organizers, the Hong Kong Alliance for the Support of Patriotic and Democratic Movement in China.

Activists watched.

Meanwhile, dozens of rights activists remained under surveillance across China, or had been warned off participating in any public events.

In Beijing, civil rights lawyer Teng Biao had been subjected to surveillance, while writer Wang Debang had received a warning.

In Xian, activist Yang Hai said police had said they would take him out of town until after the anniversary, while a second activist Zhang Jiankang hadn't been seen since being called in to "drink tea" with national security police.

In southwestern China, Suining-based dissident Liu Xianbin and Chongqing-based rights activist Mu Jiayu both reported being under surveillance on the eve of June 4, CHRD said in a statement on its Web site.

Ah, this reminds me of the saying, "The pen is mightier than the sword." Yet this part about ignorance is so ever growing in our media. If a Democrat tells them something, they write it down as if they did research. If they ask a question of a Republican (Conservative) who gives them a straight answer and the place where they can look up the information, they consider this an afront! Nothing a Consevative has to say can persuade the media, but do not hesitate to speak the truth anyway. People who know the truth will read what they write and question it to the point of taking their money elsewhere! This is what I call the free market. :)

Forces seize Taliban 'shadow governor' in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan (June 2, 2010) – The newly appointed Taliban shadow governor of Baghlan province was captured May 31 by an Afghan-international force as he prepared to leave for Pakistan.

His predecessor was killed in a coalition airstrike the previous day, and this capture marks the third time in as many weeks that the Taliban have had to replace named shadow governors for Baghlan province because of coalition operations.

An insurgent was killed and several other suspects also were detained by the assault force during the operation in Baghlan-e Jadid district after intelligence information revealed insurgent activity.

As the joint force prepared to transport troops from the completed operation, it was discovered that a helicopter's transmission and engines were irreparably damaged and it could not return to its base. Troops left using another helicopter after maintenance experts inspected the aircraft and decided to destroy it on site. The helicopter did not receive any enemy fire.

In another operation, Afghan National Army soldiers of the 207th Corps, supported by troops with the NATO International Security Assistance Force, discovered a weapons cache in Bala Murghab, Badghis province, May 31 after receiving a tip from civilians.

The cache contained 11 mortar rounds, eight heavy artillery rounds, a mine, 100 steel projectiles and several items suitable for the production of improvised explosive devices.

Afghanistan national security forces with ISAF partners conducted an operation in the Baghran valley May 30 to disrupt Taliban command, control, and influence in the area, and to capture an insurgent who has supplied Taliban fighters with weapons and components for roadside bombs throughout northern Helmand province.

The Afghan and ISAF combined force surrounded numerous compounds suspected of being hideouts for insurgents in the valley. After ensuring all residents exited the compounds safely, the combined force detained two men. Several women and children were protected in the operation, in which no shots were fired and no civilians were injured.

San Bernardino and Santa Barbara Recommendations

I've received two recommandations from Stephan Frank and if you live in San Bernardino or Santa Barbara Counties, please pay close attention.

Gandrud and Rutherford--Two Outstanding Local Candidates.

I seldom write about local candidates in the California Political News and Views. But, in this election I must. Santa Barbara needs an experience[d] financial leader and someone who has proved to be a fiscally responsible office holder.

San Bernardino needs to be cleaned up from the corruption that is widespread--and need[s] to show political consultants that lying and smearing good people is wrong and [is] not to be tolerated by honest citizens.

Both are great candidates and will do the job well.

Greg Gandrud is a former Carpenteria City Council member, a financial business leader[,] a community activist and someone who b[r]ought an expanded 101 Freeway to the Central Coast. He is running for Treasurer of Santa Barbara County--a county near bankruptcy due to out of control spending and unions getting pensions that are no longer sustainable. Why Greg?

"Our county's pension fund is ONE BILLION DOLLARS short. This year's budget deficit is over forty million dollars.

Our citizens are facing massive unemployment, have mortgages that exceed property values, and struggle to put food on their family tables. Sheriffs deputies are being eliminated, fire service reduced, teachers laid off, pension fund chronically under-funded, roads full of potholes!

Employees, who will cost the county an average of $118,900 each in the coming fiscal year, will each receive an average of about $38,800 this coming year in benefits. Our Board of Supervisors lacks financial expertise and just voted to spend fifty thousand dollars to study their pension fiasco rather than simply vote to fix it."

Janice Rutherford is a Fontana City Council member, [who is] running for [the] Board of Supervisors in one of the most corrupt counties in the nation. She has served on the Council for the past ten years.

Now as a candidate her opponent, the incumbent Paul Biane, who was "blind" to the corruption around him for years, has a campaign consultant who has slimed Rutherford. From a Press-Enterprise story, "A story about the city's budget appeared in the June 22, 2006, edition of The Press-Enterprise.

However, the mailer merges parts of two different sentences in[to] a different order and [also] makes some wording changes.

"The sentence attributed to The P-E is misleading. Some words from two disparate sentences were combined to create a false and deceptive political message," said Maria De Varenne, editor and vice president/news. "This is why we do not allow our copyright news content, particularly excerpts of our news stories, to be used for political or commercial purposes."

Chris Jones is the consultant--the same consultant for Don Kurth, and Assembly candidate in the 63rd District. Kurth is the candidate who raised taxes five times in one year, voted to use tax dollars to get jobs for illegal aliens, never told the NRA he is opposed to guns, was an addict, went to jail--yet Jones calls him a "conservative".

Slime in politics. See dirty story here. Biane and Jones [are] why folks have a distaste for the political [games people play].
